Lucca Back Bay
Book your next event with us
Waiter’s service in itself very good and probably impacted only by his need to attend too many guests .
Decent food. Not a great value for the price. A little dark and noisy.
Very very good and very very expensive
Food was very good. They were very busy, but service was very good; we were welcomed warmly and the server was attentive; and food was served with good timing. We didn't feel like we had to wait too long, and also did not feel rushed. Thanks for a lovely evening!
Waiter wasn’t very on top of things and entree took forever despite the place not being too busy.
Another great meal at Lucca Back Bay! We come to Boston every 2 years for a college football game and always make sure we book a dinner at Lucca - and it never disappoints.
We were greeted by staff as we came in the door and they quickly offered to take our wet coats. We were immediately seated at a nice table by the windows and our server came by right away to take our drink order.
We both ordered the Lucca version of onion soup and it was amazing. I’ve never had anything like it - it’s almost as if they made the soup and then puréed it - and the presentation was pretty cool.
I had seared scallops as an entree - and coming from Florida I’m pretty picky about seafood. The scallops were big and seared perfectly - a little bit of crunch when you cut through them. They were served over spaghetti squash and the dish was perfect. I would have locked the plate if I thought no one would see me!
My wife had a pasta dish - rigatoni with a beef, veal and pork ragu - and loved it. She kept commenting on how impressed she was that there seemed to be some of the ragu in every piece of pasta. We wondered if someone was in the kitchen with an eye dropper ensuring the coverage!
The entrees were big so we didn’t try anything for dessert but the choices looked pretty darn good.
Can’t wait for my next visit in 2021!
The waiter was just the right degree of attentive and the food was fabulous. The waiter recommended wines that we all enjoyed. The location was very convenient to our hotel and the food was extraordinary compared to other offerings in the area. Highly recommend!
Great food and great service! I have been many times and would recommend to anyone. I will definitely be going back again!
Had drink at the bar, rhen a really nice dinner with my wife. Everything was great....food, Juston our server and Ryan the bartender. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the Copley Square area.
Everything was great from the service to the complimentary bread, the burrata app, our pasta and chicken dishes, and the dessert! Will definitely return for dinner.
We always enjoy Lucca and did so again after a snafu with their seating the other party in our group at a separate table upstairs and not connecting us until we realized the problem ourselves.
Pleasantly surprised. We had a delicious meal with great service. Had not been here in years. But it was great.
Fantastic. Went twice in a weekend and had two great meals with world class service and hospitality.
Lucca’s servers must have been having an off night, as overall it was disappointing... Our food was delivered in the wrong order, one person’s entre arrived while the other’s did not, we waited long periods of time before our server returned to our table (yet they were very quick to take our plates!), coffee was cold, our credit card was misplaced... Not their best evening’s performance.
Exemplary service and quality food. Very enjoyable meal.
Perfection at every moment, from the greeter, our terrific waitperson, attentive expediting and beautifully prepared, artfully presented entrees. Lucca has a very pleasant vibe; elegant, but not stuffy. Vastly exceeded our high expectations.
Birthday dinner was great
We had a great experience at Lucca Back Bay! Our server was so sweet and very attentive. Food came out at a great pace and was delicious! My husband had the steak and thought it was wonderful but we both LOVED the Cavatelli dish I ordered. Manager spoke with us before we left to check on everything which we thought was nice. We were only in Boston for one night and chose Lucca because it was so close to our hotel and it was horrible rainy weather all day but we were very happy with our choice!
Tasty, delicious food in Back Bay. Very nice atmosphere.
In Boston for the weekend and wanted a special dinner to celebrate my sisters birthday. I made a note about the occasion in my reservation and they greeted my sister with happy birthday which made her feel special. We were a little early for our reservation but they sat us right away at a table by the window. The food was good-great. However service was slow at every turn - slow to greet us and give us water, 10 minutes to get my single glass of wine, and we needed to flag down our waiter to order dessert. Was hoping for more attentive service. Overall we liked it
This is a great choice for an exceptional meal. We were there for dinner before a BSO show and they took great care of us to make sure we were at the show on time!
This was after a concert -- I had the verde salad which was outstanding as was the tagliatelle with lobster. My friend had the carpaccio which was also excellent and the tagliatelle.
Getting together with friends before a comedy show at the Garden
Waiter seemed to be bothered by us being there - not sure if it was the end of his shift or what the deal was. Food was good, although the Gnocchi appetizer had confit rabbit and I bit into quite a few bones which was less than appetizing. Better bet seems to be their North End location.
Found this restaurant on Open Tables and was not disappointed- Halibut special was to die for and my husbands fila mignon was like butter. Service was great too.
Lucca Back Bay was a top recommendation from a local when we came into town for our anniversary - and it was a wonderful rec! We had a delicious meal with delicious cocktails and the service was excellent.
The service was not very good. It felt oddly rushed and the staff wasn’t very friendly.
Great Italian food in Back Bay.
Good food and service. Nice for business meals. Not horribly loud like many restaurants.
We had a wonderful evening and felt pampered by the staff. Even the chef came over to see how we liked the food, which was outstanding.
Great food, great service.
We had eight people and they sat us at a square table, which was perfect for conversation. Great food and great service. Wine list navigable for all budgets.
The service was spectacular...hostess and server were exceptional!
Brought out our order incorrectly. Asked for chicken and was served pork. Brought us oysters that were covered in horseradish... completely destroying and over powering the taste of the oysters. Overall unpleasant experience.
I planned a corporate group dinner at Lucca Back Bay that was held last night. Unfortunately we were not quick enough to book the private party room however Natasha, the Operations & Events Manager, was able to arrange for our group to be seated together comfortably and was very patient with me as our headcount kept evolving even up to the day of the dinner. To top that off I was thrilled to open emails from my bosses this morning raving about the success of the dinner (the restaurant choice, the table arrangement and the food). Everyone had a great time! Bravo to Natasha and the Lucca Back Bay staff!
En general todo estuvo bastante bien aunque en nuestra opinión el servicio un poco lento y la comida demasiado especiada pero entendemos que acorde con la forma de cocinar aquí
The BEST Italian food in Boston!!
Lucca is elegant and the food is excellent- very unusual combinations and fusion for example my Halibut steak had spicy popcorn sprinkled but was outstanding. Service good, quiet and nice location near Copley. Slightly pricy but so is everything in that area.
Very good meal, we had a great time. We have eaten numerous times at Lucca North End, first time here (in its current incarnation...we ate here when it was Sasso, Ambrosia & Blackfin:)). Definitely recommend. Beautiful space.
We love that there is a North End option in Back Bay (albeit at Back Bay prices). The food is great and Lucca's is very accommodating on special requests.
