This is second visit in 2 weeks. We really enjoy the food here and the fact that it is BYOB only makes it more appealing. The bread basket is amazing! We started with the meatballs, which include raisins are are mouthwatering. Entrees were a ravioli type of cocoa pasta stuffed with butternut squash in a cream sauce with pistachios...oh my was it wonderful! And a differently named ravioli with many layers..no tomato sauce... cream, veal, mushrooms. Delicious and huge.. we just finished for lunch. A really nice evening!
Excellent food! Spaced out seatings, attentive servers
Waitress didn't care and because of that we couldn't wait to leave
I’ve written about Lucas before; LOVE this place!!!
A little pricey, but I’m worth it. 😉
Food , service and outdoor seating service was very good.
A rainy evening and we were fortunate to be able to eat inside. The food here is amazing...things prepared with a little twist that elevates excellent to spectacular. And to be able to bring your own wine is attractive. The bread that comes before the meal could be a meal in itself... we took the extras home as they were too delicious to leave behind. We ordered like one very hungry person and shared everything. Each dish was split in the kitchen, a touch we really appreciate. The started was figs stuffed with ricotta and wrapped In prosciutto. The sauce was balsamic and there were pignolis...yum! We chose the roasted pear salad. The portion was very large and filled with goat cheese and other goodies. The entree was a veal chop special with tomato cavatelli and asparagus. We each left a bit of the half chop. Truly a wonderful meal.
We dined outside and the table Configuration was slightly tight. The food was outstanding and the portions were large.
We shared the small portion of meatballs (2) and it was more than enough. We had the gallinaio (a battered chicken breast with eggplant and spinach and the cinquanta which is
lasagne with veal tenderloin stew, cheese, mushrooms / marsala sauce. Both dishes were excellent. We were too full to order desert. The only drawback was the road noise and there is nothing you can do about that.
Every dish was exceptionally flavored; the bread & oil/sauce, multiple appetizers, and our entrees. The wine list was excellent and local. We will be coming back to this restaurant for many years !
My husband and I have been looking for a new Italian “go to” since our favorite local place closed. Based on the Open Table reviews, we were excited to give Luca’s a try. We opted for outdoor seating and the front patio area was nicely done. Unfortunately, the meal did not match our expectations. Food was heavy and sauce laden, pasta was a bit too al dente, and presentation was lacking. Service was very slow, especially since there were so few diners, although in these pandemic times, that was somewhat expected and not a game changer. Overall, it was an OK experience but we would not hurry to return.
Fantastic dining experience. The restaurant was not too crowded and had a cozy atmosphere perfect for an intimate date night. The food was delicious - the burrata (excellent, the eggplant and red peppers were a nice touch); the branzino (for her, she loved it); the pumpkin squash-stuffed ravioli (loved it); the creme brulee and and espresso to top it off. Great atmosphere, great service, great food.
Service was much slower than usual but food is always very good.
Service was outstanding.
Food was delicious and unique.
Excellent food and service.
Food was great. The lamb and pork chops were done nicely in a good presentation
Adorable cozy environment, great food and service. Specials are fresh and in season. BYOB is nice because you can bring your own pairing.
This place is a gem!! BYOB and the food is absolutely delish. Their homemade bread is to die for. Would definitely go back. Reservations recommended.
Dined many times in the past and latest trip was by far the worst experience and service thus far. Providing the feedback not as a complaint but for management to recognize there are a core set of customers who have been dining for many years and continue to return because of the quality of the food but more importantly, the service. Don’t lose that as you grow.
Food was delicious, service was good. It was Valentines weekend so it was very busy. Wasn’t 100% happy with where we were seated but overall it turned out to be a pleasant dining experience.
My wife and I have been eating at Luca's for years. This is the first time we tried it over a holiday weekend (Valentine's). It was more crowded than usual and took forever to get our food (which was great as usual). The kicker was when we asked for the check our waiter told us there was another group waiting for our table and we had to move fast. This when we had waited over an hour for entrees. That warning was out of line and not in keeping with the patience that our party of 4 displayed.
Place too tight that you’re mere 5 inches away from other table.
Excellent dining experience overall as usual for Lucas. Food was excellent as was the service. Very attentive servers but not bothersome. Price was a bit on the higher side, but expected for quality.
Excellent food and service as always.
Amazing atmosphere and was quickly seated with reservation. There is also a liquor store right next door so that is convenient as well. The service is prompt, the food is put of this world stunning and amazing. Servers are knowledgeable and helpful.
Luca's is a neighborhood gem! A great place, with great service, food and ambiance. The interior decor reminded us of a restaurant in Capri we had been to during our trip to Italy recently. The food at Luca's was delicious. Highly recommended!
Lucas has remained a lovely BYOB restaurant. Great food, great service
The food was authentic and delicious. My girlfriend and I will eat here as often as possible. I cannot wait to try everything on the menu! I highly recommend trying the butternut squash agnolotti and the gnocchi dish. Don’t let the prices intimidate you. The food is very filling and you will probably be taking left overs home.
Will go back again, and again
One of the best restaurants in the area! Food is great. Seating is tight, so travel light!
Don't be fooled that this restaurant is in a strip mall. The food was very good. Service was a little slow to order and it took a more time to get drink refills than we would have liked, but we did not feel rushed as and after we enjoyed our dinner. We also talked for a long time we finished eating and we were not rushed to pay or give up our table. If we lived closer, I could see this becoming a regular place for us to get a very good meal.
Food, service and ambiance scored well, as usual. Fig appetizer, rice balls and eggplant rollatini were exceptional starters. Lamb shank, cavatelli Valentino and branzino hit the mark. Gelato and sorbetto were deliciously refreshing. I lowered my over-all rating, however, because they ran out of the rack of lamb special even though it was only 6:30 p.m. Disappointing for our group.
Luca’s is a hidden gem. Tucked in an unassuming mini strip mall, this byob is our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Food is fresh and inventive, and service is always great. Make sure to make a reservation on weekends because they can get busy. If you forget your bottle of wine, they do serve their own as well.
Love Luca’s! Great meal and experience every time!
Everything was great. They were out of tomato paste though which is part of the recipe for bread dipping sauce.
Love the apps and entrees!
New Years was fixed menu, wait for bread 30 mins to come out with your appetizer s, because they save on plates....
Our friends from Cape May loved it. They met us for a lunch date. It is our local go-to restaurant!
Went here for Christmas Eve dinner and cannot stop raving about the food! My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Italy (specifically the Amalfi coast and Rome) and this was the closest we have had to authentic food since we have gotten back!
Only negative I would say was the service. Our waitress did not smile and was not friendly , and we were ruShed to finish up our meal - understand that this is a holiday but to be told that other people are waiting for our table is a no-no ..
Went to check it out due to the great reviews and was glad to have tried. Cozy little place with great ambiance and delicious food! The complimentary assorted freshly baked bread basket was unique and they tasted great! The waiter recommended Oysters from the appetizers and we never had Oysters before and it was probably the right place to try first! Fried Calamari was perfectly cooked and melted in the mouth! The bruschetta was different than what I tasted in other restaurants and was more like a flat bread but it was good. The Tiramasu was absolutely delicious! The service was great and food came reasonably fast. Will be my future destination for Italian food!
