Luca's Ristorante of Somerset
Friday & Saturday 11:00am - 11:00pm,
Sunday 12:00pm - 10:00pm
Celebrated my sons Birthday ! Food was very good! The service was really really good! We Will definitely visit again!!!
Went to Lucas because we did an overnight in Somerset and it was rated so highly. It in an odd area, but thought we'd try lunch. However, didn't realize that at noon on a Saturday, you can only have dinner menu. Restaurant highly decorative..but was more interested in the food choices. I chose a chicken dish , which was supposed to be battered chicken with spinach and Italian ham and mozzerella and spinach. The dish was purple . The chicken was drowned in this chianti sauce. The flavor was bitter and the presentation in purple made me sick . The dinner menu is priced high. My husband had pappardelle bolonaisse and that was homemade and not overwhelming. I didn't feel well after taking some bites of mine, but thought maybe it was just me. I don't know..but I would not go again. I just wanted a simple lunch .
A special gem. Excellent food, great ambiance. Nice ambiance as well.
Nice local place. Good food. Great bread and dip — both home made. Excellent value — tasty food but not expensive. Would dine there again.
Amazing food. Service was mediocre at best. Would return just for the food though. Overall a wonderful night. Order the Pompeii for dessert :)
It's easy to forget you're in Somerset, NJ when you dine at this charming Italian restaurant. You are greeted with old-world atmosphere and ambience as soon as you walk in the door. Then you are faced with the dilemma of choosing what to eat from an extensive and creative menu. Many of the offerings and preparations far exceed what you see at most other Italian restaurants.
An excellent variety of appetizers can be ordered in small and large portions. The "fico" and "spiedini" we had were both superb. We can't wait to try others on the menu during future visits. Our "Luco" and "Branzino" entrees were deftly prepared and presented.
Service throughout our visit was exceptional. Our waiter, Karim, was the best server we have ever experienced. He was helpful and attentive and anticipated our every need without being intrusive.
Luca's is a restaurant you need to include on your "must try" list. You won't be sorry.
Food & Service was excellent as always.
A wonderful restaurant with incredible consistent food as always :) As a vegetarian, I never find an issue with their menu as their vegetarian offerings are scrumptious and well paired. A suggestion I have is to bring back the Burrata special, with the artichoke, balsamic pearls, burrata, etc. It was delicious! Also revamping vegetarian offerings every once in a while would be a delight :)
Fico, a fresh fig appetizer, is one of my favorite items on the menu. I love going with a group who loves to share their food. I have never had a dish at Luca’s that wasn’t amazing. This is a favorite place to eat.
Not my first trip. LOVE this restaurant. Food is always fresh & homemade. Staff is gracious & attentive. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but step in and you’re transported to Italy.
Every time I come to Luca’s the food is exceptional. The young servers were also excellent making it a great experience.
We had a great, quiet meal. We especially liked the Fico, fig, appetizer -- out of this world. The cannelloni also was excellent. Our friend had the pappardelle, which he enjoyed. It's a lovely space, which was about half empty when we were there and nice and quiet. Our server was friendly and helpful. We would definitely go there again.
The food was outstanding. Freshly made bread, the meatballs were different and so well prepared. everyone thoroughly enjoyed their entrees. our waiter could have been a bit more patient. he seemed to quickly get annoyed when we asked clarifying questions...maybe he was having a bad night.
We love Luca's. They never disappoint. The grilled octopus salad was delicious. We had pasta Luca and pasta Ishia which are two of our favorites. Finished with a 3 scoop assorted gelato. Delish!
Server was excellent. Our appetizer was delicious, especially liked the balsamic “balls” with the mozzarella and prosciutto. Food was delicious but one of the entrees could have been hotter. Overall a very good dining experience and would definitely recommend to others.
This is the best Italian food that I have ever had. I'm Italian and I've been to Italy. If you can't get to Italy, come here. The food is that good!!!!
My husband and I love going to Luca’s. The specials are just that, special. I started with the octopus salad. The addition of olives was very creative. Luca’s employs salads that use grains, which I love. My husband had the pappardell bolognese. The pasta was very tender. My entree was soft shell crab. I’ve never enjoyed this dish more. It wasn’t heavily seasoned or breaded; it was just perfect. We will definitely go back for more.
Everything was great from the service, to the courses, to the smiles. I highly recommend Luca’s
My husband and I went to Luca's for Friday night dinner. We were treated to some very special dishes. The amount of food was abundant and we savored every bite. We also appreciate that it is a BYOB. The service was very prompt without feeling rushed.
The food was exceptional with the one exception of the side pasta. It was bland and sweet. It got crowded fast and was a little tight. Wait staff was friendly and accommodating of special requests but was not very attentive. Overall experience was good and will go again
This was our first time here. It was late afternoon and we found it on Mother's Day! Could not believe we were able to get a table. First of all it's BYOB, which we love. Our server was such a delight and we asked if we could ask for him next time; his name is Matt. My wife faced the back of the restaurant and watched as a worker make homemade gnocchi. The meal was completely homemade. My wife ordered the seafood in a cream sauce and I ordered veal saltimbocca. We will definately be coming back and can't wait to bring our grown children. It's not very big but such a gem in a small strip mall.
One of the best date night’s we’ve had in a while! We went for our 6 year wedding anniversary. The food was DELICIOUS. Our server was friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be going back again and again!
The food is exceptional and the portions are larger than you'd expect, but you pay for the quality. Good for a special occasion. I've been their a few times. Unfortunately, there was a couple with a cranky baby that disrupted any ambiance. I highly recommend Luca's, but expect to pay a little more than your 'normal' Italian pizzeria.
We've been there several times and have not been disappointed once. Love that it's BYOB. Finding parking during weekend can be a challenge as it's in a small strip mall. It's a small cozy restaurant.
It is a consistently good restaurant. It
Hands down best Italian restaurant in central New Jersey and ranks as one of the best. The food is always amazing and never a disappointment. Even the bread they give for free is top notch. Can’t say enough about this place.
Restaurant was a bit tight and for some reason it was really cold in the restaurant. The food was good not great.
The food was excellent. Fresh baked bread superb. Very polished service.
Had another good meal here. Food is reliably well prepared. The service was good and properly paced. Comfortable atmosphere.
The meal began with the Farrow salad. It had roasted beets, goat cheese, pistachio nuts over arugula. Delicious. Then the chicken special. Which were two chicken breasts each rolled up with prosciutto, mozzarella and chopped portobello mushrooms in a red wine demi glaze over the best home-made cavatelli ever! YUM. I am just wondering why they are not giving OpenTable points.
A special place for great food, service and super special ambiance with authentic decorations from Ischia, Italy. The young waiters are super informed and attentive.
We had a lovely dinner. The seating is a little tight but the food and service were very good
Food good but out of many desserts
Red sauce is bitter, chicken or veal cutlets are not tenderized.
We visited the Italian island of Ischia last summer and loved it. We were told that Luca's chef owner was from Ischia and created authentic cuisine from the area. So right! The place is charming in its decor looking very much like Ischia. The food was carefully prepared and oh so delicious. There were six in our party and everyone was very pleased with their meals. It was a wonderful experience and we will return. BYOB helps to keep the tab down, a plus. Hats off to the chef.
This was my second Valentines Day dinner here with my wife and it was great just like the last Valentines Day!!..Great food menu and service, cozy, all for a good dinner price for Valentines..looking forward to eating again at this establishment
Delicious food. 2nd best steak I ever had, but pricey. sometimes though - you just have to splurge. My wife and I loved eating here.
if you are looking for traditional Italian. not here, its an unique menu and very good and Its BYOB.
Its not cheap, but worth every penny.
