This was disappointing from the door to desert. Not a disaster, but disappointing. Host staff was disorganized and not welcoming. Server stepped in and got us to our table.
First disappointment was completely different menu than posted online at Open Table. Almost a completely different concept. Several inviting vegetarian options online: zero on menu. We had a superfood salad and a modified Scallop pasta with no bacon. Salad was good, Scallops were way too salty, and not very good. Nutella crunch bar desert was difficult to eat (frozen?) And the white chocolate "mousse" was chalky and bland.
Service was good, but we had to grin and bear it when asked how things were tasting, etc.
The glass of wine was very good and the extensive wine list is worth noting for oenophiles.
Food was cold. Service was very slow. I watched a bouncer remove an unresponsive girl who had been drinking outside the door in the cold. I was concerned about her health, but this restaurant was only concerned about their liability. Shameful. I will never return.
Amazing dinner on Saturday night, love the menu selections from small plates to larger entrees. We arrived early and enjoy drinks with appetizers at the bar, great selection of wine. Then moved to a great table in the main dining room for an amazing dinner. Menu is very diverse, offering numerous of gluten free options (which was important to us), service was great and the food did not disappoint. Can not wait to go back again, many things on the menu left to try. Don't miss Lucas Park.
Whenever we stay in downtown St. Louis we make one of our dinners at Lucas Park Grill. Perfect menu size and offering that changes just often enough. Always have a wonderful dinning experience when we go there. Inside or out the atmosphere is always appreciated and the service has always been great. Highly recommend!
I like LPG for business meals because we can walk from work and eating a little early it's rarely crowded. Service is always excellent and attentive, but not over bearing which is the sign of experienced servers and appreciated. The food choices and variety are excellent. Delicious and interesting appetizers, too. Recommended!
Went with a friend and found a revamped menu, I had a rib-eye as I do semi-regularly, my friend had the pork shank and the meat fell off the bone...I'll have that next time. Both very flavorful. A great restaurant downtown near convention center and hockey.
Friday night at 7:30pm so it was pretty busy and noisy. We were placed at a table by the bar with a bunch of TVs so there was a lot of distraction which I am not fond. There was no other place so we sat there. Freezing cold night in Saint Louis and we had reservations. Service was prompt and pleasant. Our server, Michael, was quick with our drinks. Nice menu, but when I looked at the menu on line it was their summer menu and now they on onto the Fall menu, so nothing I planned on having was available. Call ahead and I will send a note to the restaurant. To be honest it did not matter. Several excellent choice from appetizers to salads to entrees to dessert. Extensive wine list as well. Pork belly and soup appetizers and elk chop and large house salad were very nice. Nice size servings. Really enjoyed ourselves. It was loud, but not boisterous and we could easily carry on a conversation even though we were feet from the bar. I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend while in the Washington Avenue area or if you are a local as we are, nice before the Blues or Cardinals or the theater or symphony.
I've yet to go wrong selecting Lucas Park as my "go to" venue for business meals. Surprisingly not too many of my local colleagues had actually been there. The food was excellent. I believe the night we were there, they may have been a bit shorthanded. Our host and waiter Mike was left handling us plus another very large party. We only had one minor issue which was when they forgot to bring out one of our meals. We all waiting almost 10 minutes after 6 of 7 of us were served. My entire party was very pleased.
Food was good. Duck was on their online menu still which was one of the reasons we chose there. Menu at the restaurant had changed and removed the duck. But overall still good. We sat outside on a nice night. Had a few sewer type odors float through but not sure the restaurant could have helped that. Overall good experience
We enjoyed sharing appetizers (crab mango stack and Mediterranean sampler), along with the tomato soup and sweet potato fries. All excellent. After being seated by the host, it took a while for the waiter to find us (host forgot to tell him we were seated). The waiter was very apologetic and offered first round of drinks on the house. We were delighted! It was a quiet evening of great food and atmosphere. The furniture shows some age, and the place could use some overall refreshing, but it's still pretty good for a good meal and good service.
We wanted to try a new place for the annual Downtown Restaurant Week. The week ran through Sunday, and I booked the reservation from the Downtown Restaurant Week website. Apparently Lucas Park stopped restaurant week on Friday evening (after hearing this from staff we did again look at the website and it was listed at the top of their part of the website, but viewing on the phone we didn't see it). When we got there and were told that restaurant week was no longer going on, they tried to accommodate, saying they could make one or two of the things on the menu for us, but since they are not regularly on the menu they didn't have all the ingredients. We decided to just get drinks and find dinner somewhere else. I ordered a drink on the drink menu and after the waiter came back told me that the drink menu was out of date and they no longer have some of the ingredients to make some drinks, and the drink I was interested in (Champs Elysee) wasn't available along with some other ones. I just ordered a manhattan. It was a decent manhattan, just unfortunately the only slightly bright spot in a disappointing dining experience. Not to only pile things on, we made our reservations and were running late. I called the restaurant about 30 minutes before our reservation and asked to push things back, they were very accommodating and pushed us back so we had plenty of time. We won't be back.
We went here for the first time during restaurant week and we enjoyed it. The food was good, but a little lacking in portion size. The manager came over to us during the meal to check on how we were enjoying the meal which was a nice touch. It's a big restaurant that was relatively empty on a friday night so I hope they are able to maintain business.
We went for restaurant week Downtown and were not disappointed. Started with the heirloom tomato salad with deliciously soft burrata cheese and a lovely balsamic vinegar. Two had the fire cracker shrimp which were absolutely delicious. My friend and I had the escolar. A meaty and delicious white fish similar to sea bass. It was fresh and so delicious with bacon and golden raisins in a mild complementary sauce. One husband had the chicken which he raved about and my husband had the pork shank which he said was really good till he tasted my escolar and then thought mine was better ;-) Great wine, which was selected by the bar tender. Couple all this with very good service and it was one super evening. Strongly recommend!
Service was pretty good and food was okay. The issue I have is that I brought a client in for lunch and the Men's restroom was disgusting. There was literally a mop sticking out of the urinal and the floors were filthy. I was hoping my client didn't have to use it... but he did. I wonder what the kitchen looks like.
Service is always friendly and helpful. I was a little surprised at the appetizer sizes...barely enough for 2 people, and we were a party of 4. I wish the server had mentioned that before 4 of us were awkwardly left staring at a plate of 2 bacon-wrapped scallops. With that said, the food was very good.
