LucaBella at The Walker House
The restaurant far exceeded our expectations! We dined with a guest we hadn't seen in years, and we were encouraged to take our time and enjoy each course. And each course was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented and served. How absolutely wonderful to enjoy an evening with such professional and kind service. We are so looking forward to our return!!
Had a private room for the six of us. Service was good and we ordered a lot of the new menu items. It was a wonderful night.
Greeted and seated right away by our favorite server Jennifer. Clean and crisp white tablecloths. Fine wine. Tried new dish tonight and was not disappointed. Food prepared here is great. But the service is why we come back.
I went the Saturday before Mother’s Day with my wife. The seating outside was great. Very quiet and nice. My wife ordered an entree salad with extra nuts add a chicken breast. The salad was the size of a side salad with 4 pecan halves and they forgot the chicken. When reminded, the chicken was brought out. It was cooked so long it was dry and uneatable. We asked to have it removed from the bill which they did. Overall, the food was so poor it was as if it’s been cooked at the Glendora location and brought over in a cooler to be reheated the next day. We love the Glendora location. If you’re in the mood for LucaBella, go there! San Dimas is a very poor copy.
The server was excellent!!!
place was beautiful and the food was great.
definitely going again.
We had a delightful dining experience. Being the old soul that I am, i loved the ambiance. Our server was very gracious and helpful as this was our first time. My husband and I split the pear, bleu cheese and glazed walnuts and a steak dinner. It was very nicely presented. Next time we will order our steak medium rare, rather than medium. We plan to return for a special occasion with other family members and book one of the private rooms. We enjoyed the upstairs museum and found a couple of cookbooks to add to my collection. The history of the area and of the mansion was very interesting. The timing was great, right after dinner (open 7-9 pm). This was on a Saturday night. We loved the entire experience.
It was pleasant to have a quiet place to chat with friends but the food was just underwhelming.
My sisters and I had a delicious lunch in a unique setting. The service was exceptional.
An excellent dining experience for a quiet evening dinner in a historical building. This is a hidden gem in old town San Dimas. The new menu is an added plus.
Good food, well prepared and nicely presented. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, and attentive (without "hovering"). It was a very enjoyable evening.
Great ambiance. Great food and service.
Museum on the 2nd floor is very nice.
Thank you for helping us celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Our servers were awesome! The food was great! Everyone was friendly and very nice. My wife enjoyed everything about it. It was a nice surprise from our regular dinner destinations.
Greeted and seated immediately at an adorable table next to the window. White linens. Clean. Our server Jennifer was professional and attentive. New management greeted us and informed us of specials on the menu that night. A choice of something different was greatly appreciated as the menu has not changed in many years. Impeccable service from all. Attention to detail. Great food and wine. We will be back!
Been here a few times, excellent service & food.
The Neapolitan Ragu was so spicy I could not eat it. The sausage was the issue. A better menu describing the meal would be helpful. Nowhere did it say it was spicy, just that it was sausage noodles n sauce, so I thought I was safe.
Really nice place, very Andy Griffith feeling, and 1950's ish.
Staff was inattentive and slow. Waited so long for the food, that I asked for some bread to tide us over, and then the bread took a long time as well, so our meals came out before a piece of bread.
Prices were reasonable for this location and area. The name and location I thought would make the meal cost go up, had I known it would be reasonable, we'd have eaten here a long time ago. It only promotes upscale, and our budget is not upscale.
We're going to try it again, since we have heard they are getting a new chef!
Great food in a great setting. Nice ambiance and the history of the site is great.
It was the perfect birthday celebration for my mother’s birthday. We all loved everything.
Excellent food and an interesting renovated hotel from the 1880s. The dining area is nicely fitted with an old time ambiance. Modern menu, I had the New Zealand rack of lamb. Price was very reasonable food was delicious and excellent portion size. It was a fairly slow night so the service was very prompt but not overbearing. Overall I would definitely go again
We enjoyed a nice table in the dinning room. The room is part of the historic Walker House. Server was attentive to our needs and provided a birthday dessert for my mom.
Great great food always!
Great food and ambiance. There"s a Museum upstairs. Very fascinating to learn the history of the Walker Inn house.
good food..great service. Love the ambience. Convenient location. I would recommend it to my friends.
A wonderful place for lunch. It is a hidden gem in San Dimas! On Tuesday and Thursday afternoon the Historical Society Museum is open!
Another fantastic meal at LucaBella after having lunch there on another occasion. We made reservations for an anniversary dinner with friends who had not been there before. We were all very impressed with the food quality, taste and presentation. Between the 4 of us we had the pork chop, burger, steak and short rib. All were beautifully prepared and extremely tasty. We asked for the little private room off of the main dining room and we were seated there, however, it is a little tight for 4 of us, but very cozy. All in all a very lovely evening in a beautiful setting.
I couldn’t say enough about how great of an experience we had and the quality of service and the food.
As first time guests at LucaBella I was quite impressed with the quality of the food as well as the presentation. I had the Chicken Panini and my friend had the burger. Both were outstanding meals. The renovated home adds a quaint touch to the setting. The tables are spaced far enough apart to feel private and there are some private rooms as well for dining. The only two negatives was the service was very slow, but even that was ok because we were chatting and having a good time. The second, they ran out of the crispy risotto after the server suggested this appetizer. Overall, I will continue to return until I try more items on the menu.
Great ambiance, good food and good service. I would recommend to anybody looking for a very nice venue.
You restaraunt is exceptional. The only problem was our guest ordered his rib eye very rare, but there was no pink, well done. Being he and his wife were our guests he wouldn't send it back! Loved the private room for four. Jennifer is an exception server.
Took my mom here for her birthday. We both ordered the filet mignon, which was very good and a nice size piece of meat. Would have liked more of the blue cheese potato hash though. My dad ordered the chicken fettuccine and loved it. We were seated near the fireplace which was very cozy. But the cocktails and the tiramisu were the standout items of the night! Will definitely be back soon.
Love this restaurant. It is consistently a delight to have lunch or dinner here at this beautiful place.
Our dinner at Luca Bella was such a pleasant surprise! I knew the Walker House was a beautiful Victorian gem, so I hoped the experience inside would match, and it did! The food was delicious, the menu had a nice variety, and the service was great! The homemade Tiramisu was the best I've had since Venice, Italy! I look forward to returning again soon!
Lovely dining experience with some great food and wonderful service. Waitress took time between courses to allow us to finish each course. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Food is consistently good. Service was a little slower than usual tonight, but generally good. The pear & walnut salad is fabulous as is the chicken. My husband loves the pork chop. My only disappointment is the salmon is farmed & not wild, so we never order it! Loved the private room we were seated in, but needed heat. Even after asking for heater, it was still cold. White linens & full bar. If you haven’t tried it, you should.
I was there for Valentine's day dinner. The food taste and visual experience were excellent. The Walker house itself is a visual experience with a lot of history if you like that sort of thing. It's a museum as well as a restaurant with placards, photos and paintings even in the restaurant areas. They had a special menu for the day with a few selections to make up a three course meal. I had a type of sea bass with asparagus, my date had the duck. We both started with the butternut squash soup and finished with the flourless chocolate cake. The only downside was the portion size. It was likely perfect for most people but I'm a somewhat muscular 6'2'' and normally eat more. It was also pricey for the special outing at $65 per person plus drinks and 20% gratuity. It came to about $200 for our evening. You do expect a lot for that but it was never disappointing. At a lower price point or more food quantity it would be 5 stars across the board. I rarely give anything 5. I'll need to try them on a regular day.
This place is beautiful. It's like a blast to the past. Originally built in 1887 as a railroad hotel, this location is a historical landmark. When you walk in, it's like being in the olden times of the US. Classic furniture, old paintings and a homey classic feel envelope you. Service and food was also great. We went for a Valentine's Prix Fixe menu and everything was outstanding. Sea Bass, cheesecake, butternut squash soup were all home runs. Will be back.
Always on my list of favorite restaurants! Nice smaller rooms available for an at home feel. Will accommodate groups. I have never been disappointed with any of the dishes I have had. Good verify on a smaller menu. Enjoy!!
Excellent food; great service; fair prices. What more could you want.
Beautiful atmospheres! Jennifer was great. Food is wonderful. Just gets noisy when more than three tables are filled. Would love more gf options including bread for the table. We plan on coming again.
We were greeted as we walked in and were seated immediately (we had a reservation for 4). Our waitress was friendly and gave us time to look over the menu. The food was outstanding our entire party enjoyed it. The atmosphere is so relaxing and nostalgic it’s a nice change from the every day restaurants. I definitely recommend Lucabella for a relaxing and delicious lunch or dinner.
We ate here for the first time and the food and atmosphere were delicious! Would definitely recommend and will visit again. It is a hidden gem that should definitely be experienced. Aside from a minor mistake with our check, the night was perfect.
