LucaBella at The Walker House
The best filet ever. Loved that it included sides. Rack of lamb meal was outstanding. Knowledge of gf needs was excellent. The lighting could have been a little darker, only for a romantic mood. We will definitely be returning.
Luca Bella did not disappoint as an upscale restaurant, everyone in our party enjoyed their meal as well as the service... Definitely worth a visit!
We went for our 31st Wedding Anniversary dinner. We were able to pick our table as it wasn’t crowded. We chose a table in a small room off to the side. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us suggestions as we had never been there. We enjoyed a cocktail before dinner. My husband had the a hamburger and said it was one of the best he had ever had! I had the Risotto Balls and the Pear and Walnut salad. Both were very delicious. I have already told my friends!
Told us they unfortunately had no free tables for us. Reserved via Open Table a minute later and a different person at the front sat us down never mentioning there was no space.
The food was very good. The ambiance was good - in a beautiful, restored historic house.
Food was great, Especially the pork belly and lamb chops. Overall, it’s was pleasant experience. We’ll come back and recommend friends.
Everything was excellent! The filet was cooked perfectly, the potato leek soup was delicious, the creme brûlée was outstanding. Amy, our server was on point. We offer our highest recommendation!
This is not my first time to LucaBella at the Walker House. I have enjoyed each venture. As a person advancing in years, it is pleasant to enjoy fine food in a quiet old world setting featuring excellent service. I never hesitate to recommend LucaBella to friends who are looking for a fine dining experience.
This was an enjoyable and satisfying experience. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. The cocktails were superb and the food well prepared and delicious. Will definitely be returning here even though it is 42 miles from our home. The atmosphere and historical ambiance cannot be beat!
What a perfect setting for a Halloween night. The waitress and waiter went above and beyond in their effort to make sure our party was seated properly. We had two people who use wheelchairs.
The wait staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They set up a banquet style table on the front porch so we all could see the trick or treaters on the sidewalk. They also had candy for the trick or treaters. So it was very entertaining watching the kids come up the front steps, into the lobby to get their candy.
Everything was already perfect and we hadn't even eaten yet. Then they brought the bread....uhhhh yum! The entree's were delicious. I had filet mignon and it was so tender and tasty. My friend had the short ribs and she was sooo enjoying them.
I'm so glad I thought about this place for Halloween night. Just a short walk over to the community building...Perfect for Halloween.
I'll be sure to remember it again anytime I want great food and great service.
The house has been beautifully restored and was the best thing about the meal. The appetizers arrived suspiciously quick, the pork belly was was burned on the meat size and virtually uncooked on the fat side, the crab cakes had an odd taste and tasted as though they had been premade and the slice of lemon had been precut so far in advance i couldn’t squeeze it over the crab.
For the main course we had the rib eye and pork chop. Both pieces of meat were of very good quality but the rib eye had been undercooked and the pork chop was covered in the same unapplealing brown sauce as the pork belly.
We had the chocolate cake with the ice cream of the day. The ice cream was the best tasting item of the meal but the cake tasted like it was from a grocery store.
Also we were seated at a table that had been placed over an AC vent in the floor. Not a single staff membeer asked if we enjpyed our meal.
Excellent food—our entire group ( 7 people) greatly enjoyed their dinners. We all agreed that the service was outstanding! Our waitress ( Jennifer) was outstanding —and very nice!
Luca Bella has been a ‘fan favorite’ for our lunch group for some time. The menu is well designed and the service is good most of the time. My one complaint: loud parties in a small dining area. Yesterday, for the second time, one group was so loud that we could barely carry on conversation. I realize the restaurant cannot predict which groups will be loud. But, once they observe it, they should move such groups to their own room so others can enjoy their experience.
I recommend adding a soup and salad combination to the menu.
The food was great. Very friendly staff. The atmosphere is great it being a historic house. All around a great place.
Great food but very poor service. Waited about 20 minutes for a refill on water, and had to ask a couple times.
Excellent service & ambience. The pork chop & rib eye meals were a little chewy.
Our friends that brought wine thought the corkage fee was a little steep.
Delicious! I ordered the filet mignon and it was excellent. I ordered pasta for my 1 year old and it was fresh fettuccine with a tomato sauce that had a hint of spice. She loved it. My dad ordered the pear salad with candied walnuts and strawberry dressing and he said it was the best salad ever. We will definitely return.
Enjoyed my birthday with girlfriends. Requested a quiet table so we could chat & had a perfect location in a beautiful room.
Absolutely awesome!! This is a beautiful historic house in San Dimas. It is rich in history and accurately restored. A wonderful experience. Make sure to take time to look at the photos on the walls.
The menu is limited but very good. The dining areas are small so if it gets busy, a reservation might be a good idea. I wish there was more information to diners about the historic home the restaurant is in.
This was a neat setting that is great for dates for special night out. Cute rooms make it a smaller feel. We had a great time!
Love LucaBella at the beautiful Walker House. 4 college girlfriends in a private room with delicious salads - perfect lunch!
I love the ambiance and the food and service is excellent. Definitely be coming back.
Excellent food, service and wine choices! I'll go again and it's an hour drive from me.
Great service, great food with a nostalgic ambiance.
Had a wonderful evening, only criticism would be that there were only two waitstaff on duty that evening so the service was a little slow but that didn't spoil our experience. The food was excellent and the historic building is charming.
This place never disappoints. The food is incredible, the crab cakes are always perfectly crispy and soft on the inside. I love the New Zealand rack of lamb too. My only critique is the temperature of the room. It can get a bit stuffy if the tables start to fill up. Other than that, it’s a perfect spot for some quality service and food!
This restaurant is in a historic house in a very cool neighborhood (beautiful Craftsman homes). The dinning room is beautiful. The food was original (roasted vegetable salad with grilled seafood). The restaurant has just begun to offer lunch service, so for the time being the ambiance is pleasant, quiet and uncrowded. Our server was very cordial and prompt. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The deserts were quite nice also.
Luca Bella at the Walker House is a sweet find. There are a variety of rooms from small to large. Food is excellent. The service was slow but the waitress was pleasant.
Food was terrific. Service was just ok- could have been better. The staff was nice but could have been more attentive.
The food was fine, once it came. The service is fine, but extremely slow. If you want to go out for a special occasion and just talk the restaurant is fine.
The wait for taking our order, getting our food and even paying the bill was very slow. Some may like this, not us.
Food is delicious. Service is impeccable. May try their rack of lamb, and pork belly.
To my surprise we were seated in the private room off the main dining room. I've always wanted to eat there. My stepdaughter and wife thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Their ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and my braised short ribs were excellent. We celebrated my stepdaughter getting a job and our beginning an 18 day cruise to NYC via the Panama Canal. A great way to start the weekend.
We had a great experience. Quiet during the middle of the week. Fantastic food, the building has a lot charm.
They offered to cut a small cake we had for 4 at the table so we said yes and ended up with a $10 cut fee. Nothing said to us just added on our bill. Not happy about this being we would have just did what we where going ti do and have my wife cut it for our family of 4
We had a wonderful time at your restaurant. Food and Service were excellent. We will be back.
Excellent food in an authentic location from the areas past. Quiet with attentive staff
Stepping Back In Time
delightful place to special lunch or dinner. Serve needs to be a little more attentive.
Amazing food and service, the museum and art exhibition upstairs were delightful. Margie was a delightful and knowledgeable guide, will be back!
