Love and Dough
Cash only, and they didn’t tell us until the check came for a party of 7. Completely by lucky chance that I happened to have enough cash to cover the bill. I’m not sure what they expected us to do otherwise.
It’s 2020... cash only?
Pizza is so floppy - not well cooked
So far from pizza la napoletana
Would not go back
Had salmon which took a while but tasted okay
New year’s!!!! The food was delicious and even though it was New Years and it was very busy, the had a great service and very friendly with everyone!!! Excellent
Fin de año
Delicious And authentic pizza
Great local pizza place! Good for kids and families. Friendly staff!!
Good girl pizza is amazing!! Service is great!
The service was exemplary, the food was delicious, and cost was reasonable. I've been before and will go again, but next time will choose a quieter day. Between flea-market/Photoville crowds, the train on the bridge, and the people inside the restaurant, it was really, really loud.
Good pizza, nice open atmosphere. Was cash only and we didn’t see any signs that said this til it was time to pay but there was an ATM close by.
The restaurant only accepts cash. OpenTable's own entry indicates incorrectly that Love and Dough accepts multiple payment options (AMEX, Carte Blanche, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, Visa). Please update this entry. Food and ambiance were good - service was not.
Awesome place for Italian in the DUMBO area. Food was fantastic! Only recommendation for the business would be to consider an option for children. Definitely will be back!
We had pizzas on the 4th of july, which is of course one of the busiest days in a restaurant. The food was good, the service acceptable (but busy).
Warning! This place won’t accept any credit cards, only cash. Why I don’t know, but I do know that I received several mails and texts prior to our visit. It would have been so easy to let us know in advance: “sorry but we don’t accept any cards”. In stead we had to find an ATM to be able to pay the check. But that never happened.
Not as advertised.
We went there because their website promised reasonable happy hour drinks and food. However, when we sat down we were told that the restaurant did not have any happy hour offering.
Also, since the restaurant is located under the Manhattan Bridge and their door was kept open, the noise from the subway constantly traveling over the bridge was deafening.
Food was surprisingly tasty and a large party was easily accommodated. It is a cash only place which is important to keep in mind. I'd definitely go back and try more things off the menu!
Wait staff was helpful, attentive and friendly.
Delicious food. Although it was mostly empty they sat us right up against the food counter.
Although the profile states AMEX, Carte Blanche, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, Visa. Cash is preferred and they will make you go to the Chase bank up the street if you don't have cash or a service fee is charged.
We have to eat quickly for new client ... Money before service...
This is one of my favorite places ever, just be prepared for the noise level. The food is fantastic , the service is good, location excellent, but man is it loud.
Love and Dough was fantastic! My boyfriend and I got a pizza to split and it was so amazing! Enough for two and so delicious.
A lot of tourists
Great Pizzas! Friendly service and a good value Cash only!
It’s cash only and we were not aware when we made the reservation on open table. Everything else was amazing
While we enjoyed our meal at Love & Dough, we were disappointed that a member of the staff asked us to leave right after we had started to wrap up our meal. My mom was using the restrooms when a staff member approached the table and asked how our meal was. He then proceeded to point out that there were people waiting to be seated and asked us to move along. This was disappointing, as I made a reservation for 5 people and we were looking to enjoy a laidback meal as a family for my sister's 16th birthday. We hadn't even been at the restaurant for an hour, so we rushed and awkward towards the end of the meal.
Don't list that you take credit card it you do not........ pasta and pizza mushy, service was MIA, and then that nice moment of having to borrow cash off of a friend at the end of the meal after waiting for the check for ages.
Best pizza I’ve ever had, hands down! -
Truffle pizza is incredible!
Amazing gluten free crust!
Low key neighborhood pizzeria serving great pizzas and salads. Cash only. Highly recommended.
Great for a quick bite - pizza, salads and mains. Great for groups. We seated 10 no problem. Cash only.
This is a small but cosy place right under the Manhattan Bridge which serves excellent pizza and other Italian staples. Note, they are cash only, no credit cards despite what they say on the website. Nevertheless, it is great value for money. Pizza is really good.
A hidden Gem in Brooklyn. The Food was great typical italien the staff was very busy it was new years eve but xtremly friendly. We will come back!
Bring cash!
Lunch was phenomenal. We made reservations for Sunday after church at the Brooklyn Tabernacle. The pizzas were great. Our favorite: love and dough (their signature) and Four Kings (especially if you’re a cheese lover.)
Horrible restaurant. Never go there. They don't know what customer service is.
great gluten free fresh clam pizza! who could want more?
Great food and decor despite being a small space. However big points lost for not accepting credit cards nor warning guests in advance - unacceptably for a modern, fairly trendy restaurant with the ubiquity of digital payment options.
THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY DESPITE WHAT IT SAYS. If you book for a large party they will try to get you to order family style. It is expensive but we enjoyed it and were satisfied. The second time we were here they really pushed the family style even though we said we would wanted to order ala carte.
Gluten fee pizza was excellent !!!
Had a great late lunch there with a few friends. Service was friendly, but the staff does seem to buzz around in a heightened state of urgency. We had the burrata with eggplant, the Love & Dough (white sauce) and another pizza that I can't remember the name of that had a decent kick to it, fresh ricotta, and maraschino cherries (the real kind) which was a surprisingly good flavor combination. A fun atmosphere near the Manhattan Bridge and the Sunday flea-market there.
Delicious, fresh food.
Attentive, friendly wait staff.
Clean, modern and bright surroundings.
Beautiful views of the Manhattan bridge and NYC skyline just steps away.
A great find for us, not being too familiar with the DUMBO area of Brooklyn.
