Sadly disappointed. Our 3rd visit and birthday celebration (6 guests). Food arrived on cold plates, steaks lukewarm. Coffee not hot. Spaghetti squash over salty, salmon dry and overcooked. Mushroom risotto bland.
Expensive meal for poor quality meals.
Likely not returning.
Foie gras: who serves that wonderful treat over garlicky legumes? Really? Stick to classic prep and quit experimenting on loyal customers.
Gem salad was overwhelmed with anchovy taste; no other taste notes could be detected.
We'll come back again but please don't disappoint us next time with the chefs experiments.
We shall return! Brunch before the matinee performance at the Paramount. The food quality if very high and the sweet potato French toast was outstanding!
Came for a second visit that was equally as enjoyable as the first. Top notch cocktails, excellent food and wine, great service, and relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to the next visit.
Wonderful service from Ryan, Ali, Mark, and others. We got the duck confit sliders. They were cute and a great little bite. One of the best things we ordered was the charcuterie board. It was delicious!! Really great drinks, as well!
We had a delightful meal before the theater. The host who sat us was fun and started the evening well. Our waiter was great and he made sure we got to the theater in time. The noise was a bit too much - I am hard of hearing and even with hearing aids turned up - I was having a hard time.
Delicious meal and fantastic service. Had beet salads, seafood stew and salmon. Sorbet to finish. All were wonderful. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere and service! Would definitely go back!
Awesome place for team event. Great service and great food.
I ate here at dinner and lunch the next day because it’s connected to the Sheraton where I’m at a meeting. They serve a limited menu of French food with Pacific Northwest spin. The food is good but not spectacular. Nice wine list. Portions are modest which I prefer. Prices seem a bit high but maybe that’s Seattle. Service was generally competent.
Outstanding food and even better service! I met a friend for lunch and although the restaurant was full, the service staff did not make us feel rushed at all. Attentive, but not pushy. We both had the lunch salmon entree and it was delicious. Generous size and very fresh salmon. There were many items on the menu that I'd like to try, so will return soon!
1. Service was pleasant but slow on food delivery. Friend ordered potatoes with entree and they were brought to the table after our dinner dishes were removed from table. Really!
2. My salad had a very long hair or long synthetic string in it. Waiting a fairly long time to have it replaced.
3. Husband duck dish was small for price. The duck confit contained two very small pieces of duck, not a whole breast.
4. Wines by the glass were expensive and not very good.
5. Waiter knew we had theatre but didn’t pay too much attention to time.
Loulay is my new favorite place to eat. Cozy and consistent, with seasonal rotating flavors. Impeccable service and portions just the right size.
The food is fantastic and served with care and attention. We bring out of town guests here and they are always wowed.
Perfect sport for a lovely date
We've been to Loulay quite a few times and typically the service is good and the food is tasty. This last visit the food came out of the kitchen lukewarm at best. The duck was a bit tough. My husband at the sole which I tasted. He enjoyed it and the sauce noisette was really good, but his was also not served really hot. We'll be back and hopefully this was a fluke. The place was busy on Friday night.
Came quite early before a show at 5th Avenue.
Loved the smaller pours so I could try a couple of different wines! Husband’s cocktail, the _____ Traveler, was well-balanced and delightful. Our salads, the mixed green and the gem were abundant and refreshing. Our mains, the sole and the salmon were outstanding, sole especially having that special French brown butter taste! S’mores dessert amazing, beignets a little less so. All in all, a great reminder of the gift that is our amazing Seattle adoptee, M. Rateaureau (sp)
Lovely pre show dinner with my family. Perfectly timed and executed. It was nice for the owner to stop by and chat.
The creme brulee was spectacular! A beautiful fall dessert.
The food is excellent. Dishes are interesting without being overly complex. The wine list is smaller and not as good a value as in the past. There are half bottles, but each was at least $50, even for a basic wine. Wines by the glass are a mix of tasty and not at all interesting. Which means the former are reasonably priced and the latter over-priced for the quality. Restaurant is well-located for other downtown activities. Service of dishes is well-paced. So, in general very good to excellent, but I would like to see more interesting, reasonably priced wine.
Thierry and staff always take great care of me - my favorite restaurant for business lunches in Seattle!
Love this place!
Great food, but the portions are just a little too small
First time i ate there it was amazing. Second visit we brought 4 friends with us and service was good at the beginning then our waitress dissappeared. The host and other servers could tell we were waiting on her tapping our cards on the table waiting to pay. We missed the opening act of a very expensive show that night due to her wasting 30 minutes of our time. I won't be back
Was a little off that night but we eat here regularly and food is always great!
This Seattle restaurant would fit beautifully, not only as a date night venue (we were seated in a very private booth) but also as a great special occasion or business restaurant. The food is inventive, artistically presented and delicious French/American nouvelle cuisine.
The food was excellent and the service from Ryan was outstanding.
I had been wanting to dine at Loulay for a few years and finally got a chance. They did not disappoint. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and the attention to detail from parking to wine and dinner selection was appreciated and on point. We look forward to returning!
I absolutely love Loulay. I have been there many times. It’s my go to restaurant after the Saturday Matinee at the 5th Ave.
This was an amazing dinner!
We normally go to Loulay for brunch, but we had a great dinner experience as well. The Duck confit sliders were a special treat before the Husky-Duck football game. They were delicious! Our server was awesome, too. The salmon, and pork chop we’re both hits. The s’more dessert was a great twist.
Best experience we’ve had at Loulay. Service was attentive and gracious.
Everything was great. Service was a bit slow yet amazing. They were so busy with big groups in the restaurant, but I thought they did an amazing job taking care of everyone and always with a smile. I was very impressed and we’ve eaten here many times. Will be back.
We enjoyed the ambience and had wonderful suggestions from our server.
Loulay has been consistently good, and serves French-style food in a lively atmosphere, without any pretense. Service is great, both friendly and helpful.
Excellent French inspired food--nice twists on old favorites. Always flavorful, never over-flavored. Especially loved the crab beignets!
Always good. Great location. Good service. Delicious. Friendly waitperson!
As usual the restaurant was great and the menu top notch. My wife’s risotto with crab was perfect as were both Onion soups. My fish stew fell a bit shot in that the clams were too large for being served in shell in a stew, more than a mouthful and the smoked paprika over powered the saffron. We also ordered a baguette to start and it didn’t come until midway through our main course. The baguette was also a disappointment in that it was a crusty “artisan” loaf rather than a crispy light “baguette” which I expected given the chef and his background. Critique aside it was a great dining experience and we will not hesitate to recommend or return.
The food was amazing but the service was just okay. The staff seemed very busy and weren’t overly friendly.
This was a thank you lunch for business associates. The risotto, Mushroom medley, and burger were all top notch. Service was attentive and professional.
