Excellent food and great service!
Creative and wonderful dinner. Outstanding sauces and everything prepared and plated to perfection. Excellent choices for each course.
While I have only enjoyed lunch at Loulay, it is a very pleasant oasis in downtown Seattle, with excellent food and unassuming but timely service. The Cassoulet is especially savory and don't miss the beignets to finish.
Excellent service and menu.
Great food and love the ambience.
The food and service were great. The problem is the restaurant is attached to a hotel with a number of undesirable people.
The food was amazing and the service was great. They also did a good job coordinating so we didn’t have to rush to the play we had booked after dinner.
Exceptional French experience in downtown Seattle. Balanced and flavorful - will definitely be back. Reservations recommended.
Visited for first time back in Dec. and loved it so we came back while in town this week. Our waiter Mark was great, he suggested a wine I'd never had before and nailed it! I am now going to find it for myself at home.
We had the french onion soup and a hamburger both of which are excellent ( my only complaint is we ordered med done and the center was very UNDONE! My husband was fine with it but I just cut the pattie thinner and it was fine).
My very favorite item on the menu is the Huckleberry Sorbet which I believe I could live on!
It is delicious and I asked for extra Honeycomb pieces and Mark made sure it came that way...yumm
Every bite was great! Can’t wait to come back and order more things to try!!
Food was very good. Staff was friendly and professional. However, very slow service. We were there pre-theater and allowed plenty of time to have a nice dinner. Felt stressed worrying we would get out on time. Was told everyone else is also trying to get to theater as a reason for slow kitchen. Seems like they should be prepared for this bejng so close to the 5th.
I've dined at Loulay before but was disappointed with my food this time. Bland and sparse.
Good food and nice service. It felt a tiny bit over priced.
Excellent location and atmosphere/ food is exquisite!
Very expensive, know in advance that each plate is smaller unless you order from the "third" course menu, which is around $20+. This quickly adds up. All the food was great (some a bit too salty), and drinks were just OK. Not sure it's worth full dinner price. I'd go again for lunch or happy hour.
I've only been to Loulay at lunch, so it was nice to come at dinner. Great selection, every dish we had was amazing, and the service was fun and attentive. Will definitely be coming back. Great for groups.
Always great! I often get the Gem salad which is simple but great, followed by the Mary's Chicken, which is always cooked perfectly. The Chef in the Hat has been working magic in Seattle for several decades and I miss Rover's! Loulay is an excellent downtown Seattle restaurant that is great anytime. The bar burger with a duck egg and bacon is also excellent!
Liked the place. Our server was great. The only problem was that on a not so busy night it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our main course. There’s a bread charge and I wouldn’t mind except you’d expect French bread to have crunchy crust and possibly be warm. It was neither. The actual main courses were just okay. The s’mores dessert was delicious.
A stunning meal that I didn't want to end. Near culinary perfection.
Excellent service. Great choice of cocktails. Foods are okay.
We had a marvelous brunch at this delightful multi-level French Restaurant next to the Seattle Sheraton. I had the brioche French toast while a friend had the codfish scramble. Both were exceptional.
So disappointing....we had been to Loulay when it first opened and was eager to go back. The service was awful we waited almost an hour to get anything to eat. We had a 6:00pm dinner reservation and tickets to a play at 8:00pm. It was a stressful dining experience.
Great lunch. The eggs Benedict were outstanding and I loved the spicy Bloody Mary ... made with gin, which may sound awful, but it was delightful. Hubby had the burger. Great service and casual atmosphere.
This was like a mini-vacation to France! Delicious food, courteous and thoughtful service and -- in a refreshing change of pace from so many Seattle hotels -- the noise level was such that our entire party of three could have a pleasant conversation without shouting to be heard. I love Loulay and will be back!
Lovely French bistro. Enjoyed the fois grass and mussels. Pork chop was a little dry. Wine selections are solid.
Food was excellent. Bartender’s drink mixing was a little off.
A French-inspired restaurant with contemporary atmosphere. Nice variety of menu choices for all diet preferences. Attention to detail is impeccable. Wait staff very personable and makes you feel special! Great for foodies, date nights & group get-togethers!
After a very long travel day, it was a delight to enjoy such a delicious meal with an attentive staff. The staff at Loulay works as a team and it shows in their superb customer service. The bar tender mixed terrific cocktails. The food was cooked perfectly. I had the sea scallops and my husband had the short ribs. Yummy! Even the desserts were terrific. I can’t wait to return.
Highly recommend if audible conversation is a criteria for dining. Duck Confit Cassoulet and Seafood Stew were exceptional. Birthday celebration was a big hit.
After having a delicious lunch at Loulay a few weeks ago, three of us went to dinner there this week. We were not disappointed. The celery root soup, the mussels, a house salad, two orders of shortrib bourgionon, and the wild coho salmon were superb! Add a very personable server and ambience to match, and it was an evening that will never be forgotten!
The food is amazing, the staff is lovely. French food but not fussy.
The service was superb. Always attentive and engaging. The food was coursed out appropriately. We really enjoyed the endive candies pecan with beecher’s cheese salad, cod, and the delicious peanut butter s’mores. The ambiance was very inviting and cozy.
Dinner at Loulay was a very satisfying experience. The service was truly excellent and the noise levels were moderate enough to allow conversation. We started with Crab beignet and followed it up with a vegetarian soup (celeriac), salad and the truly delicious risotto that was the day's special. My daughter had the scallops which were perfectly cooked! We binged on french fries that were sinfully good.
I will certainly pay another visit to taste the many seafood entrees that they have.
I particularly liked the idea of having potions of different sizes as entrees.
We went for lunch on our anniversary and had a great time. The service was top notch and the lunch trio was a good value. I had the cheese course, salmon and espresso. The cheese course was amazing and the salmon just ok. It was cooked perfectly just not a ton a flavor. My husband had French onion soup, the burger and espresso. His soup and burger were delicious. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back!
Unlike a lot of Seattle culinary places most of the staff is top notch, minus the second-tier-city-trying too-hard pretense one sees so often in this city right now.
Food was excellent. Wine was great. Service was slow, though. We are seated about 10 minutes after our reservation, and for another 10 minutes, no-one seemed to notice we were at hour table. Not a place to go in a rush. But for a relaxed long dinner, we'll be back.
The salmon lunch entree was just ok and way too expensive.
Went for my husband's birthday. Their customer service was excellent! Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food is phenomenal too!
Our dinner at Loulay was awesome! Everything we ate was cooked perfectly and was delicious! Great restaurant for date night!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We've spent our last two wedding anniversaries enjoying their wonderful food, wine and service.
