Louisiana Purchase Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the visit and the food was very good. I was sort of hoping the satisfaction plate would have more flavour. We make something similar at home so it was a disappointment that ours has more kapow than LP.
However dem bones were so good I'll be back for them for sure!
The food, service, ambiance, and location were excellent. I had the Special that day, the portion/presentation was spot on. Service was perfect, my coffee was topped, conversations flowed (without constantly being interrupted with requests to top up, it was simply a questioning glance with the carafe and it was done); our waitress (crap I am an awful reviewer, I forgot our servers name after the fantastic service *facepalm*) was knowledgeable about substitutions/diets concerns, and suggestions. We were in the early lunch period, so it was quiet and beginning to fill as we left. Easy parking and easy to find. Overall a great lunch with friends.
Food was ok, service was ok. Really liked the room. Maybe a little pricey. I'd go again, just not right away. Weird how they brought out very stale bread and, after I'd mentioned it, said "yeah, we don't order it very often so all of our bread is stale". Pretty half-assed.
Overall very disappointed! Use to go frequently many years ago ( >15 yrs) and was awesome, thought would try again; brought an out of town guest. Food was terrible, it was embarrassing; I've had fast food Cajun much better! Absolutely outrageous prices for what was served. Only able to eat 1/4 of the meal. Will never return. Server was friendly but didn't know the wine list or menu very well.
The food was good but the Jambalaya could have had a few more pieces of protein: more than one piece of shrimp, a few more pieces of chicken and sausages. There was a sufficient amount of rice and veggies. The service was good with the servers smiling and taking care that we enjoyed our meal. Request for special seating when reserving was honoured and a good spot was kept for us to visit and chat. The ambience was conducive to a good evening.
Usually I can't wait to get back to Louisiana Purchase. Now not so much. We were seated at one of the worst tables but the restaurant was not full. When our guests arrived they were not asked if they would like a drink. We were never asked if we wanted additional drinks or if our meal was okay. I've now moved it off my top ten list.
Have been going to Louisiana Purchase since the late 1980's when this restaurant opened. Have always loved it and in my history have never had a disappointing meal. This is a really nice restaurant for any reason to go out!
Don't forget their chocolate pecan pie! One of their many awesome in restaurant made desserts.
High recommendation for Louisiana Purchase as a great choice for a restaurant outing.
Great service stood out in what was overall a good Cajun dining experience on a Saturday night. The prices were a bit more than one might expect for what is primarily comfort food on the menu.
We enjoyed the Grilled Heart of Romaine Salad, the lightly charred romaine lettuce a first time experience. The Bon Ton Poulet was both tasty and filling. The same can be said about the "Satisfaction" Plate, a Louisiana jambalaya dish.
Food was amazing. I ordered the gumbo soup, corn bread and seafood jambalaya. They are highly recommended. Lots of flavor and large portions. I also ate the bread pudding for dessert. It would have been better if there was less sauce, but aside from that, it was good. Lastly, I tried the pumpkin pie spiced ale and I actually liked it! Service was ok. Our server was clumsy because she kept dropping stuff, once on me.
We went for a Thursday date night to LP the food was great and the portions were fairly decent for what we got. The alligator was amazing. The only thing is that I wish with my catfish I got the potato instead of the spiced rice as featured on the show "You got to eat here."
