Louie's Wine Dive - Kansas City
👍🏼👍🏼 two thumbs up! Love this place. Cheese & wine selection on point.
We have been to Louie's Wine Dive many times and have always had a great time. The staff goes above and beyond to give us wine recommendations or answer any question we have. As usual, we had a wonderful evening.
This was an excellent experience. For a year or so, we have been passing over Louie's Wine Dive because we had poor service a few times. I was pleasantly surprised this time and we will definitely be back.
Great experience! Will be back
Table of 4, had a couple shared apps and drink specials. Had a great time.
We have come to Louie’s multiple times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it never disappoints! Their mimosas are fantastic and I had their breakfast pizza this time around. Highly recommended.
Our neighborhood restaurant which has extraordinary service.
Never have had a bad meal at Louie's! My friends had to send a drink and meal back because it wasn't up their standards, but they even still left please! The service was fantastic and very patient with us and the size of our party. They threw in free dessert for the birthday girl as well! Highly recommend the 4 pork gnocchi! Will be returning to Louie's over and over and over...
Our server was great
Nice place and atmosphere. Service was good, but the food was not worth the price. VERY underwhelmed on portion for the price. I would only come back for the drinks.
Great Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich. Would highly recommend!
I should have asked about a New Year's eve menu, I looked on the website and we chose Louie's because of the menu. When we arrived, it was a limited menu for New Year's eve, completely normal holiday activity but I wish I knew. The waitress was nice but kept asking for our meal order before we had ordered our drinks. We asked for an appetizer after our drinks were served and she was amenable but seemed surprised (maybe new). The evening menu was black with white/silver writing in little font. The menu was good looking but a little tough to read....can you tell my age? It is a snug little neighborhood place and would be nice to try again on a non-holiday evening.
Great bartender and service. Food was very good, a nice evening out!
Our food was delicious and our waiter was outstanding, very attentive, service with humor, kindness and a smile!
Louie's has made substantial improvements in their cuisine over the last couple years. We had a guacomole dip and tuna sashimi. The guac was excellent and fresh, and the sashimi was a delight. Nice hit of citrus with the pineapple that went well the with beautifully seared rare tuna. Yum. My wife had a house hamburger w/o the bun that was cooked perfectly medium and well spiced. My brother in law and I both had the Fish and chips. Nice big chunks of cod perfectly cooked, light breading, with an aioli that was a fab relief from traditional tartar, yet, with hints of the classic. Fries were excellent. Service was outstanding. Kitchen was outstanding. Yay!
First time there, and it was a fine experience. Will definitely be going back.
Louie's is our go to date night place. They have a seasonal selection of menu items and a great wine list. They do get busy sometimes. This last time they were busy, and did forget our appetizer, which was a bummer. However, they did try to make it right and brought it out free of charge. Overall, I'm a big fan and would definitely recommend it!
Had an awesome brunch!!
Was surprised they were out of both the Bolognese special and the short ribs by 6:30. Despite the hiccup, the other food selections made were great!
Good food, fair prices, and good wine selection. Easygoing casual atmosphere made for a good date night.
We had a 7:30 reservation, there were two other parties so a bit awkward. Where was everybody?? Super slow service, our server went on a quick break and then we had to wait for our drinks because the bartender stepped outside...not sure we’ll be back, please improve because this used to be a favorite!
Great service with great recommendations. Only complaint would be the serving sizes, a little small for what you pay.
New Tapas menu is a bust, alot of the items that were on the last menu were what Louie's was known for. I don't think this restaurant has ever been known for tapas.
The menu is all small plates. Most were around $15. Total bill for 2 people was $75 (one bar drink). Left hungry. Very poor value— won’t be back!
The Sinatra Burger made my taste-buds sing! The Ratatouille with asparagus rather than eggplant had great flavor and texture. My friend had Emily's Salad with Salmon, and she couldn't stop raving about it. Great food and attentive service, what more can you ask?
Noise level was really high, and salad was small, but good.
Louie’s just revamped its menu about a month or two ago. It is now more of a tapas type restaurant where they suggest you get 2-3 things in the menu due to the shrinking of portions. It seemed quite expensive to me for tapas with food ranging between $11-$19. There was almost no one in the restaurant on a Saturday night which I found odd. In the past, Louie’s used to be a fun place to go and filled with energy. Our waiter was amazing and was giving all the information in each dish so we knew exactly what to expect and didn’t have any surprises :)
It was an awesome experience.
It was hotter than HELL in Louie's on Saturday night. The server advised that the AC was malfunctioning and repair services were not scheduled until Monday, 6/18. Really? The management of Louie's couldn't be bothered to raise holy hell until they secured AC repair before FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND???!!! With heat indices in the triple digits??? Fail.
They gutted their dinner menu and it’s awful. Good luck eating here now if you’re a vegetarian. And super pricey now- $10-15 per small plate, and they recommend at least 2-3 plates per person. Won’t be going back here for dinner any time soon, which is unfortunate - used to be one of my favorites.
Great casual dinner/tapas with an interesting assortment of wines, beers and cocktails!
We used to be huge fans of Louie’s, but we’re pretty disappointed with their new menu. They’re now calling themselves a “tapas” restaurant, which normally I’d be thrilled about, but not the case here. Their menu has many of the same items, only now they’re now more expensive and a fraction of the size. They suggest “2 or 3 plates per person,” but most plates are $11-$19. After looking over the new menu on Saturday, our group of 6 young adults decided to get one drink and then walk next door for dinner. Hopefully this new menu goes over well with others as I’d love to see this place thrive, but we likely won’t be back anytime soon.
We found Louie's perfect for celebrating Mother's Day. Were loved the inventive dishes and the sensible portion sizes- We are not in to super-sizing. Our wine and beer were excellent.
Service was very friendly and attentive. We appreciated our server's attention to detail and help in explaining the interesting unusual menu.
My sons 18th birthday. The food was excellent, service was on spot, atmosphere was perfect!
Fun and unique! Great service, tasty food, fantastic wine - all around, an enjoyable experience!
I love this place. Great food, great wine, great service, and great advice and knowledge. And, no pretension.
We had such a good time and the food was delicious, a nice yet casual atmosphere, moderate noise but it did not make conversation difficult at all! We try a new place for brunch every month and this is by far a top fav now!
Exceptional friendly service
Great variety of wine options and a knowledgeable staff. Love the Sinatra Burger with fries! My wife is a fan of the fish and chips. We recommend this Waldo gem.
