Wonderful service with great wine choices and a delicious food menu.
They had a fantastic original and seasonal menu. Outstanding service.
Wonderful Sunday brunch option. Beautiful outdoor patio, service was excellent. Food was delicious!
Cute atmosphere, great service. Food was marginal.
The staff was great! They accommodated our birthday celebration fantastically!
The number of food selections for non-brunch menu seemed a little limited at noontime. But, everyone loved what was ordered.
The patio is close to University, and the traffic noise was sometimes a bit loud. So, for some inside dining might be a better choice.
However, I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. I plan to look into their wine club. My friend received her monthly wine selection while we were dining. Their wine club selections looked great!!!
Came here for my birthday. Service was slow and subpar. Food was okay. Got the fish and chips. They were too soft and not crispy enough. Fries were good. Ordered the beignets for dessert. Wish the dough had been a little sweeter and fluffier, more like a donut. These were more biscuit like.
One of our favorite places for brunch and for evening dining. Always a pleasure.
love the fabulous variety and quality of GF options
Excellent, friendly service, great date night spot. MANY gluten free choices on the menu, and very allergy friendly.
Good food & wait staff. For a Sunday, did not feel rushed at all. Had a leisurely Sunday brunch outdoors. A little noisy with the street traffic on University. Overall, very enjoyrable.
One of the best, total, & complete dining experiences that I have had for some time! The ambience was great and the entire meal was wonderful from cocktails, to appetizers (get the squeaky cheese!), to the main course with awesome wine selections, and then dessert. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Kudos to Cory & team - you are doing it RIGHT!!!
They seemed really short staffed and the poor guy at the front of the restaurant was clearly overwhelmed. It took at least 20 minutes to even speak to a server but everything was quick after that. Food was great!
The food was fantastic and the wine/cocktail options were impressive.
The server was professional, pleasant, personable, and great with follow up. The menu was varied for breakfast, which was great. Food was delicious. It just got too noisy for us...but that's us!
Love this place.
Food and service never disappoints. This is a perfect local Des Moines neighborhood place that I would recommend to everyone.
Good environment for conversation and drinks
We greatly enjoyed our brunch visit. The menu is varied with great options. Our group of three tried the clasdic eggs Benedict, arch frenemy and blue plate special. All were very good.
always a great experience
The waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious. We appreciate you doing all you have during this past year and a half!!!
Food was amazing. Sat outside. Would have preferred music to be a little quieter, as it was brunch time. Hard to talk and hear. Volume was more suited for evening bar crowd. Food was fresh and delicious
Had a great time, food was delicious and music wonderful.
Food was fine but by the time it finally came, temp was tepid at best. I know Covid has made finding help difficult, but our wait for everything including the bill was unacceptable. All in all, not an enjoyable experience.
Had a great meal and our server was pleasant and very good. A very good experience. We'll be back.
Overall was a great experience, however service was not as great as other places probably would have been, especially considering they weren’t that busy! Otherwise, all was well.
Louie’s is a good choice, but service can be slow.
We celebrated Mother's Day at Louie's Wine Dive. It was a lovely experience. Roses for the mothers, excellent service, delicious food. We will be back.
We haven’t been to Louie’s for a couple years but it was enjoyable to revisit recently. We were happy to see so many gluten free options including cheese curds and a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. Both were amazing. Well crafted Old Fashion with J Reiger which you don’t often see in Des Moines. A little pricey but drinks these days are. Wine options were plentiful and reasonably priced. Helen our server was extremely friendly and helpful. We will be back soon!
Excellent service, great gluten free choices, and wonderful ambiance.
Great service. Very casual and comfortable dining experience. Food was excellent.
Food and service great. Had really good drink menu as well.
Fantastic food and service was great too. Very clean and socially distanced.
It was our first in dining experience since March 2020! In fact, Louie’s was the Las place we dined before everything closed down!
Great food and wine!
We have been here several times. First went with some friends and later just the 2 of us. The food and service is always very good. We love the smoked salmon dip. Ther service is great never over bearing but they check on you. One time I left my take away box on the table and the staff brought it out to the car. We will be going back!!!
First off, our waitress fantastic! She recommended us getting the beignets, and they were hands down the best food we had. They were super light and fluffy, and the rum butter is to die for! I got the crab cake eggs benedict, and it was good. There wasn't enough hollandaise sauce, but the crab cake itself was awesome. The potatos were meh. No flavor at all. We also got the French-press coffee, and it was good, but I think we would've been fine with the house coffee too. 4/5 stars for the food itself, 5/5 for the wait staff.
The Brussel sprout appetizer was scrumptious!!
Great place to share plates and enjoy a great wine list
