Louie's Wine Dive 119th Kitchen
Price are little high for the food, & alcohol especially. Flavor is very good. Service was great! Gluten free items were also great. A little noisy. I understand acoustical tiles upside down for a different look, but maybe every other one should be turned over so they can be used as intended. Overall a good meeting place.
Service was good, horderves was good but expensive. One of the cheese's we orders was triple cream, they serve as bri said it was the same but I know better. I ordered spicy shrimp, it had good taste but only 5 shrimp and lots and lots of macaroni. The manager saved a few pennies but at the expense of the customer.
We ordered $50 Pinot noir wine and it was very good.
The food was very good. Look forward to going back.
Always a great spot for happy hour or Sunday brunch!
Exec Chef came to table to discuss meal prep
My husband has a severe allergy to red meat
Went out of his way to make sure we could rest assured kitchen could handle
Delicious meal. Soft shell crab for me and tacos no red meat. The specials were delicious
My husband said he would go back and order double portion tacos!!
Had a great time and server was amazing as well
We’ll be back
20 thumbs up
Very deceiving from the outside. Such a cute place with great food! I ordered the avocado toast with an egg. Not a lot of food. My friend got a burger and it was delicious! I'll be back.
My wife and I have just recently discovered Louie's Wine Dive. We consider ourselves to lean toward the 'foodie' side of the continuum and man, does Louie's ever deliver! While everything we tried was fantastic, we find ourselves trying not to eat too fast as we have always ended our meals there with their amazing Beignets for desert as they are truly special and leave us with a strong desire to return! We are already big fans and look forward to returning.
It is a nice atmosphere. My wife had salmon salad, she said it was good. I had the spicy shrimp diablo, is was more of a Chef Boyardee ravioli with shrimp. No spice at all, do not recommend, or pick up a can from the grocery store.
We love this place. Food is fantastic. I always get something different and I am always happy with my meal. Great "corner neighborhood restaurant" vibe.
So good! Great wine, food and service! We will definitely be going back.
Great service! Brunch was decent. I don’t recommend ordering a Bloody Mary, one of the worst ones I’ve had.
Service was slow both times we were there. No urgency on anything
Vic provided outstanding recommendations & service.
Our group of 8 had a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch. Great service, food was delicious. The eggs benedict with crab cakes were outstanding (i. e., it actually tasted like fresh crab, which is not often the case). The beignets were out-of-this-world, and large enough that the entire table was able to sample them. Can’t wait to go back....
Really bad service for mothers brunch, slow and seemed annoyed but we waited almost 2 hours for food and there were plenty of empty tables. Love the restaurant but not good service that day.
A little loud, food wasn’t bad. The waiter didn’t seem to care at all. He was not friendly at all
One of our favorite places to go for a cozy atmosphere and good food! Louie’s never disappoints!
Food was awesome! Wine selection great!
Once again, amazing. I adore squeaky cheese. My boyfriend ordered Caesar with steak and they brought steak and fries. He ate it, but when Vic realized it he brought the salad also. Great wine suggestions, the only down side is the fabulous but expensive wine that I love!
Menu always provides above average entrees and some very unique but delicious dishes. More than once we've commented how it would be hard to not have the same thing the next visit.
Went for the wine selection, however was blown away at the food. The flank steak (Steak Frites) was the best I've ever had (this includes France btw). They put garlic chips on the steak, and asked for medium rare. It was unbelievably delicious.
The Sinatra burger was delicious as well. Don't let the ingredients of the burger fool you, the chef knows the formula for what makes it work in your mouth. It was wonderful!
We love Louie’s, it’s where we bring all our guests from out of town. The food is amazing every time we never have to worry about Louie’s showing up to represent the food and culture of Kansas City. In fact it’s where we got engaged. Service is outstanding and reminds me of the impeccable service you received at the Savoy. Christopher (Chris) is a dream to have as a host. I’m always extra giddy when we get him. Our favorite is the Bar-Keep whose name we never remember but it’s a classic millennial name and she has a Great Dane. I feel as if we’re being entertained in her home. I can’t sing the praises of Louie’s enough.
I was skeptical of ordering the rueben since Louie's obviously isn't an Irish restaurant but I was extremely happy I did!
It was delicious and I ate every last bite. The service was wonderful and friendly and the booth was large and comfortable.
I will be back soon!
Bloody Mary and mimosas are really overpriced. Anytime a drink is within $3-4 of meal, it’s too expensive!
I asked for crisp bacon but didn’t expect it to be burned. Waiter didn’t return to ask about meal, and I didn’t want to flag him down and interrupt conversation with my friend, so I left it on plate. The biscuits was super dry and broke into crumb bits. No possibility of eating as a bread item.
I was surprised they weren’t busier at Sunday brunch but now I understand. No desire to return.
Awesome as usual. Great wine recommendations. Gluten free options that are delicious. I live for squeaky cheese! They always work with me and my odd food allergies.
Great food and outstanding server! Our family had a great time.
While the food and service here are outstanding, our entire experience was ruined because of the antics of two little boys at an adjacent table, who thought it would be great fun to climb on the backs of our chairs, try to knock over our wine glasses and crawl under our table as we attempted to eat. Parents couldn't have cared less and what's the restaurant supposed to do? Have a babysitting room???? I've seen this over and over again at this restaurant, and we won't be back. Why would we spend $150 (with tip) for a nice dinner when we can't even enjoy it? It's extremely frustrating because the service here is terrific and the food is as well (usually - the lemon bar dessert was a big disappointment).
Great dinner & drinks! Our server, Megan offered excellent recommendations and was fabulous all evening!!
Fantastic experience every time. Noise level is unusually high but to be expected I suppose. I will be back.
Took care of us really well, will continue to come back
Please bring back the deviled eggs with bacon! Not a fan of soy and ginger deviled eggs.
The server had been on for 10 hours. While she was very sweet and had good conversation, she dropped half of our $11 appetizer (made up by bringing out two extra pieces) and brought out a drink made wrong. She didn’t even inquire as to how he would like it. Also, the ahi tuna was well done instead of rare and fresh.
This was my first time at the Louie's on 119th St. it was nice. Really too noisy for me. I like to have a conversation. Food was ok. But our server was so nice and funny. She was excellent. Kudos for the customer service.
The food iscertainly above average and a good value for quality dishes above the normal fare. The brussel sprouts are a perfect appie for 2. My wife's salmon filet was moist and flavorful on top of well seasoned quinoa and my shrimp diablo was sicey but good as well. A little stingy on the shrimp but what was there was good. I was certainly satisfied. The beignets were filled with chantilli cream and served with a carmel type dipping sauce that will make it hard not to order next time. The place is pretty noisy and nothing close to private or intimate. People yell to carry on a conversation but the place seems to always be busy. We'll be back when we're in a wild mood..
This was our first time to come here and we were very impressed with the food offerings. We were able to get in on happy hour and there are some nice choices. The hostess was very unfriendly and unaccommodating when I requested a booth for my husband’s bad back other than that everything was fine.
Awesome service and food as always.
We enjoyed our food and the drinks were enjoyable. The service was excellent and the staff was helpful with answering our questions. It was our first visit and we will definitely return.
This is a great find for Lunch. Not that busy, so you can usually get right in. Staff is very friendly and the food is great. I'll be back many times.
One of my son's and his girlfriend's favorite places. Took him there for his 30th Birthday. I noted his birthday in the online reservation, but no one acknowledged it at the restaurant until I brought it up. They comped a dessert but was hoping they would proactively initiate a birthday wish for him. Great food and wine as always, however.
Sunday brunch is fantastic! My friends and I love the ‘Almost bottomless’ Mamosa’s... Great food, great atmosphere
