Louie's Wine Dive 119th Kitchen
We love Louie’s, it’s where we bring all our guests from out of town. The food is amazing every time we never have to worry about Louie’s showing up to represent the food and culture of Kansas City. In fact it’s where we got engaged. Service is outstanding and reminds me of the impeccable service you received at the Savoy. Christopher (Chris) is a dream to have as a host. I’m always extra giddy when we get him. Our favorite is the Bar-Keep whose name we never remember but it’s a classic millennial name and she has a Great Dane. I feel as if we’re being entertained in her home. I can’t sing the praises of Louie’s enough.
I was skeptical of ordering the rueben since Louie's obviously isn't an Irish restaurant but I was extremely happy I did!
It was delicious and I ate every last bite. The service was wonderful and friendly and the booth was large and comfortable.
I will be back soon!
Bloody Mary and mimosas are really overpriced. Anytime a drink is within $3-4 of meal, it’s too expensive!
I asked for crisp bacon but didn’t expect it to be burned. Waiter didn’t return to ask about meal, and I didn’t want to flag him down and interrupt conversation with my friend, so I left it on plate. The biscuits was super dry and broke into crumb bits. No possibility of eating as a bread item.
I was surprised they weren’t busier at Sunday brunch but now I understand. No desire to return.
Awesome as usual. Great wine recommendations. Gluten free options that are delicious. I live for squeaky cheese! They always work with me and my odd food allergies.
Great food and outstanding server! Our family had a great time.
While the food and service here are outstanding, our entire experience was ruined because of the antics of two little boys at an adjacent table, who thought it would be great fun to climb on the backs of our chairs, try to knock over our wine glasses and crawl under our table as we attempted to eat. Parents couldn't have cared less and what's the restaurant supposed to do? Have a babysitting room???? I've seen this over and over again at this restaurant, and we won't be back. Why would we spend $150 (with tip) for a nice dinner when we can't even enjoy it? It's extremely frustrating because the service here is terrific and the food is as well (usually - the lemon bar dessert was a big disappointment).
Great dinner & drinks! Our server, Megan offered excellent recommendations and was fabulous all evening!!
Fantastic experience every time. Noise level is unusually high but to be expected I suppose. I will be back.
Took care of us really well, will continue to come back
Please bring back the deviled eggs with bacon! Not a fan of soy and ginger deviled eggs.
The server had been on for 10 hours. While she was very sweet and had good conversation, she dropped half of our $11 appetizer (made up by bringing out two extra pieces) and brought out a drink made wrong. She didn’t even inquire as to how he would like it. Also, the ahi tuna was well done instead of rare and fresh.
This was my first time at the Louie's on 119th St. it was nice. Really too noisy for me. I like to have a conversation. Food was ok. But our server was so nice and funny. She was excellent. Kudos for the customer service.
The food iscertainly above average and a good value for quality dishes above the normal fare. The brussel sprouts are a perfect appie for 2. My wife's salmon filet was moist and flavorful on top of well seasoned quinoa and my shrimp diablo was sicey but good as well. A little stingy on the shrimp but what was there was good. I was certainly satisfied. The beignets were filled with chantilli cream and served with a carmel type dipping sauce that will make it hard not to order next time. The place is pretty noisy and nothing close to private or intimate. People yell to carry on a conversation but the place seems to always be busy. We'll be back when we're in a wild mood..
This was our first time to come here and we were very impressed with the food offerings. We were able to get in on happy hour and there are some nice choices. The hostess was very unfriendly and unaccommodating when I requested a booth for my husband’s bad back other than that everything was fine.
Awesome service and food as always.
We enjoyed our food and the drinks were enjoyable. The service was excellent and the staff was helpful with answering our questions. It was our first visit and we will definitely return.
This is a great find for Lunch. Not that busy, so you can usually get right in. Staff is very friendly and the food is great. I'll be back many times.
One of my son's and his girlfriend's favorite places. Took him there for his 30th Birthday. I noted his birthday in the online reservation, but no one acknowledged it at the restaurant until I brought it up. They comped a dessert but was hoping they would proactively initiate a birthday wish for him. Great food and wine as always, however.
Sunday brunch is fantastic! My friends and I love the ‘Almost bottomless’ Mamosa’s... Great food, great atmosphere
Probably will not be going back. The place wasn't busy. I made a reservation. I asked for a booth and hostess told me they were reserved and sat us in the upper corner. Nobody ever came and sat in the booth. Waitress acted like she didn't want to be there. And if you are going to have WINE in your name...make sure you have all the wine on your menu! Very very irritating to order a bottle and for them not to have it!
Our server was not very attentive to our table. We had to ask for more coffee. We sat with dirty dishes for longer than expected. Other servers/staff picked up or dishes and attended to our needs more than our server. The beignets were not the best but I've had them in New Orleans. Our grandson had French toast without the rum sauce and other toppings. It arrived very, very raw. Due to the company we were with, we did not say anything.
Phenomenal experience! We had such a great time on our double date and will definitely be back!
It was very difficult to carry on a conversation due to the loud noise. I though for what you received it was rather expensive.
I met a girlfriend for lunch. Food was delicious! Restaurant wasn't busy but service was slow for a Friday at 12:45.
Great Brunch menu and fabulous mimosas!
Awesome ambiance, great drinks, delicious food, excellent service!
Always good food. Generally good wine selection. But the wine prices - certainly by the glass - are exorbitant. $18 for a glass of A-Z Essence Pinot ... which is the bottle price. $25 for a glass of Blackbird Arise ... at least that's half the price of a bottle ... I didn't look to see what the bottle price was in restaurant, assuming the offered it. Try carry out and have your wine at home.
Love the place decor, modern and elegant. The food is excellent. My wife, my sister, and I enjoy the squeaky cheese, brussel sprouts, and calamari appetizers. My wife especially enjoy the Squeaky cheese. Definitely recommend the Pork gnocchi. The service is a little slow and a little noisy, but we'll definitely come back.
Great time for Saturday brunch with girlfriends. Service and food were outstanding. The name with dive may keep some from checking it out. It is anything but a dive. I’d say classy even! They serve meals suitable for anytime of day with plenty of choices for anyone.
Overall good experience but the menu advertised a rib eye on Valentine’s Day menu; however, it was clearly a strip of sirloin. Husband was not at all satisfied with his plate. Inaccurate description.
Good wine selection, a little loud, and food was less than expected but acceptable.
The food and service were better than the first time we went here. The waiter suggested good wines and food. The only drawback was the noise level. It was hard to talk to the person across from you. If that is OK with you then go here and just look at your phone. We had plenty of time to look at the menus and weren't rushed in getting our checks. So you can relax and enjoy your dinner.
Stunning brunch. The service was quick and friendly. Nothing rushed about it but food came out promptly and was clearly fresh. Items on the menu won’t be found elsewhere. Defiantly worth the trip.
The food was good it good of be excellent had there been more hollandaise sauce as the english muffin was dry, the service were very good! The restaurant was very warm though. I will recommend and be back. Thank you, Noray
This place is great. The food is awesome and the service is the best in town.
Food was great, It did take a while to get our table even though we had reservations but with a party of 8 that is not surprising. Will go again, Everyone loved their food. Server was awesome.
Ross was an amazing server! The braised short ribs were fantastic as was the shrimp Diablo! We will certainly return!
First time trying Louie’s. Food was outstanding! Tried the wine flights, happy hour sliders, both were excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable in recommending different wines based on our different preferences. Great space! Will definitely be back.
Great brunch experience. Food & service was really good.
