Louies Modern Ratings and Reviews
Our second visit...Bar was extremely short handed, but it was Valentines Day, they gave out free prosecco! Once seated, service was awesome...food was wonderful!! Bone in Pork chop and filet were both cooked perfectly. Loved the candles! The first time we went it was too bright in the dining area..I would have lights on dimmers. The candles were temporary since it was Valentine’s Day. We will definitely be back!
We went there for Valentine's Day and they were trying to create a romantic mood by turning the lights out and just using candlelight but it was too dark for us. We've dined there before and like the lighting as it highlights the cool decor. We get what they we're trying to do on Valentine's Day but for us it didn't work. The food and service was, as always, awesome and we will be back.
We had a reservation for Valentine’s Day Eve. The food was quite good: we a split the kale salad which was excellent. My fish was cooked perfectly. My wife’s pasta was great. The service however was quite a disappointment. We had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Our server “over-sold” the Prix Fixe menu and was absent a lot of the evening. And, they forgot to offer a bread basket. So the chef’s are doing a great job, but whomever is running the front end has a lot of fixing to do.
Even though it was Valentines Day, we had great service! Water constantly filled too which I greatly appreciated. We were seated in a large booth very comfortable for 6 people. Food came out hot which is rare in a lot of restaurants these days! The quinoa salad was very good. We all had seafood since it was Ash Weds. and we all loved our entrees!
There were three of us dining together. We met in the bar which was unusually noisy so decided to go to our table and order a drink. Our waiter. Sean, took our order - 2 cocktails and a wine. It took about 15 minutes before we had our drinks. We had to remind him to bring our bread. He was less than attentive. I have been there MANY times but it was the first time for my guests and they were not impressed. We had a young girl assisting at the table. She had a minimal understanding of English and did not understand when we asked her to take our empty glasses from the table. Our server explained she did not understand a lot of English and she was not 21.
They loved the food but the service was not great and the restaurant was not that crowded. Not sure if there was a shortage of wait staff. Will go back as it is one of my favorite restaurants, but thought you should be aware of less than satisfactory service.
We went in convinced we would order small plates, but watched as several main dishes went by and changed our minds. Glad we did. The salmon was perfectly prepared and the ingredients in the saffron cavatelli were blended well and the dish actually carried a saffron flavor without overpowering the other fresh ingredients.
nice decor, quite large and felt too open, lots of tables, everyone seated on the
perimeter of the restaurant. small alleyway between tables that EVERY server used
to pass by to the bar, lobby, other dining room - quite odd not a better path, walked by
our table everytime. food menu was varied, fine, not remarkable, seemed slow, even
though not too busy, thought more serving staff might be needed. alot of attention
paid to large party in another room- would try the bar area another time, looked cozy.
Worst experience. Rude host , dismissive when we left and told him he had been rude. Waiter didn’t seem to care that an hour had passed and we still didn’t have our entrees. So we paid for our drinks and appetizers and left without dinner. The host was chatting with apparent friends and not only was he uncaring that we were leaving he continued talking with them. Most interesting was the waiter exerted pressure to order the entrees with the appetizers, yet ours still didn’t arrive when other diners nearby had been served and had departed
