Waiter was outstanding!!
Very good food. Timely with reservation. A bit loud and tough to hear people talking.
Fantastic location and the service was really good. The quality of food was worth the price and we will go back there again.
Very good food. A bit on the pricey side. Very noisy for conversations
Graduation dinner. Delicious food. Great drinks.
Everything was great. I did feel sorry for our waiter. I thought some in our group were rude to him by not listening while he discussed the menu. But otherwise I'd highly recommend it and will go back for sure in the future.
A fantastic 30 day dry aged porterhouse steak.
It came highly recommended in a newspaper article, so I took my son who was visiting from out of town. He really knows his steaks and has studied them like the computer professional geek that he is. He searches out great steak places and has eaten at many all over the country. He ordered the Japanese Wagyu (super expensive, of course) and it was cool to the touch. That steak has to reach a certain temperature for the fat to melt and this one had solid fat. he sent it back and they brought it out and it was just reheated. for that amount of money, the chef ought to know what he was doing, or perhaps it sat waiting too long to be picked up. My bone in new york was not cheap either and I have had many steaks with much more flavor. To their credit they took the Wagyu back and even comp'd him the crab cakes he ordered (wasn't interested in trying any other cut of meat there). We are not restaurant snobs by any means, but this place did not live up to its hype. the appetizer and cocktails were great. The charred broccolini was cold as well (supposed to be a hot dish)
Had dinner last night with my husband and our 2 little girls, food was super delicious and excellent service, we definitely will be back!
Business dinner outside- sewer smell not good- food value not great. $11 field green salad was lettuce only on small plate. Oysters were tiny. Not an overall great experience
Food was bomb, better than what I remembered. My wife absolutely loved it. Keep up the good work!!!
My wife and I have eaten at Lou & Mickey's before so, we were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary dinner here. We were not disappointed.
Julie started with the Crab Bisque. She also tried my Caesar Salad and wished she had gone with that. For a main course she had the Garlic grilled Shrimp. She was a bit disappointed that it was a somewhat overcooked and did not have enough citrus.
The steak menu is daunting, to say the least, with options ranging from the everyday selections to extensively aged meat that is sold by the ounce. Aged steaks are 30, 45 and 60 day aged steaks. Unfortunately, the aged steaks start at 20 ounces and I did not feel I could do one justice. If only I had a refrigerator in my hotel room... so, I settled for the 14 ounce New York on the "regular" menu. I was not disappointed.
The steak came to my table perfectly seasoned and a perfect rare preparation. I rarely forego salt and pepper on my food. But, this time, I didn't even look for it (a good thing as they don't put either on the table). The steak was tender and juicy. I can only wonder what those aged steaks taste like (I'll find out next time).
Rounding out the dinner was a side of green beans sauted' in onions, butter and tomatoes. The dish was properly cooked, leaving a hint of crisp to the beans.
I forgot to mention the Gibson (a fancy martini for the uninitiated) to begin the evening with. The bartender certainly knows their way around a bottle of gin.
All in all, aside from a minor issue the manager took care of immediately, a great meal. I would rate the steak in the top 10 of great steaks. Julie only wishes she had ordered one herself. I keep telling her, "steak in a chophouse".
Awesome location in the Gas Lamp District. I highly recommend reserving a cozy bench/table outside (weather permitting). We ordered the vine ripened tomato & burrata appetizer (best burrata we've had since Florence, Italy). I'd recommend you ask about the daily cuts (make sure to check out the dry aging room) as we ended up sharing the 45 day aged Porterhouse for 2 (amazing and lots of leftovers). We added a backed potato, asparagus, and a lobster tail to our order (so much food!!) along with two sauces.
Nice setting (throwback NY steakhouse), very good service. My dad had the filet mignon - it was cooked properly and tasted great. I had a 60-day aged ribeye. Maybe I just don't have the buds for it, but I could not detect much of a difference in flavor to warrant the price/positioning. More importantly, that particular piece was VERY stringy, which made it much less appetizing, along with one-third of it being inedible. We did have a baked potato - top notch. Large, borderline mashed, creamy center, butter, sour cream, and salted skin. So an overall nice experience, but letdown with one dish.
The food and service was ok. I was rather disappointed. The meatballs and lobster were pretty good, but everything else was subpar unfortunately.
The aged steaks were amazing and the service was great!
Everything was great. Right after a Padres game, so probably noisier than usual. Steak is ordered by the ounce, with a 20 oz. minimum. Everything is ala Carte. We split a 24 oz. New York steak and split the wedge salad. One of the best steaks I've ever had! The salad was large enough to split. Service was impeccable. Coffee is French press. We will return for a special occasion.
We had a wonderful dinner and our waiter Brian was fantastic. Bread and as amazing, crab cake was a bit off, salads were great, and steak was tasty!
My daughter and I had a great dinner and our server was awesome. The food and service was outstanding. Thank you.
Food was excellent and Norah was fabulous and took great care of us. All recommendations were appreciated. Will be back!
Great food. Can't go wrong with either seafood or steak. Great service. Perhaps a little on the pricey side, but worth it.
The butcher apparently called in sick so they didn’t have much as far as the aged steaks go. The one we did end up getting was good but a little tough and fatty. Slightly over cooked too. Overall, it wasn’t as good as the first time I went there.
We really enjoyed everything but the seating is tight unless you have a table and not in the corner or sitting against the wall. The food was excellent. Josh our server was outstanding! The presentation of the food was top notch too!
I wish it was bigger.
Tuna with sesame seeds was far from a gourmet meal for 39 dollars not worth the money. They served it with a maple syrup sauce!! My hubby had filet which for the money was as good as in less expensive restaurant. Very disappointing!!
Went to several upscale restaurants while visiting in gaslamp quarter. After numerous mediocre service and average food we found this place. Hostess smiled and conversed with us then we had Great service and personable waiter. Food was awesome- sides were generous- I
Was in town for work and wanted a good steakhouse. The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. We sat outside and it was comfortable however, a freight train did best its horn where it wasn’t supposed to. Other than that the noise was not bad for being near major streets in the gaslamp. Definitely would go back.
all was good but I received the wrong steak, so 2 others.
Made reservations for 8:45. When I made the reservations, they didn’t inform me that they were closing the dining room to wax the floors. Not a problem. They sat us at the bar seating then kept moving furniture by us, but no one greeted us. Waited 10-15 minutes after no one came to check on us we left. Spent $330 at restaurant next door
Great food, great service. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Courtney the staff made it enjoyable. Will go again
Food was great! Once the server took our food order and delivered the food, we never saw him again. No drink refills. We had to ask the manager for our check after 20 minutes of waiting for our server.
I have had many dinners there, this was my first lunch. I was so pleased with the lunch menu, great choices and excellent food with great service.
We had great service and the steaks were amazing!
Great sitting out on the terrace. Jeff, waiter was very good.
We had two fish dishes, Chilean Sea Bass and Swordfish. Both were cooked to perfection and very fresh! Portions are small so if you are hungry you might want a side dish. Salads were good and the Filet Mignon tips app was iutstanding!!!
I hosted a "40th" birthday dinner for my nephew. We all
enjoyed a spectacular evening at your GASLAMP location.
Our steaks were delicious and the waitress did a great job.
We definitely will be back when we return to San Diego for
Spend every Padres Opening Day at Lou and Mickey's and it never disappoints. Great food, great atmosphere and great service.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Enjoyed the entire evening and experience. Thanks for a great time.
The customer experience was top notch! Great service, great food. One of our favorite places.
Our server Brian was great very friendly and accommodating. We had a great time with great food! thank you.
