Awesome meal. Consistent and delicious Lou and Mickeys is a must have on each visit to San Diego..
The food was outstanding, however our server was far from friendly.
Wonderful service! Hostess staff to waiter were all great!
Close to our hotel, pleasant staff, food pretty good, service acceptable. Too crowded, and too noisy and too expensive . Music super loud (we asked them to turn it down) and the tables are way too close together on the outside patio. I felt like I was having dinner with ten other people! Add in trolleys, massive foot traffic, and cars made for a less than pleasant experience. We should have looked around more. Would maybe better better for lunch or drinks
Grilled chicken sandwich was on a soft sourdough roll with a perfectly grilled chicken breast. My wife had a large wedge salad with thick crisp bacon and she enjoyed the flavor of the dressing. Great service as usual.
A great place for Steaks and the lamb chops are excellent as well. Try the garlic mashed potatoes and you will want to come back for more.
We loved our dinner at Lou & Mickey’s! The steak and peppercorn sauce was incredible! I would highly recommend it!
Though L&M is known as an excellent steakhouse their preparation of fish is really excellent. They have a delicious cream of spinach side and the clan chowder is really worth ordering. Parking is difficult of 5th so it really helps that they also have valet service directly in front of the restaurant. It is also a great place to stop for lunch before Padres day games.
I must say, this place surprised me. I really enjoyed their steak and And crabcakes. The service was great! Will def need to go back when I'm back in town!
Perfect Night out!
I took my mother there for a pre-theater dinner and we were blown away by the food. We ordered the macadamia nut crusted halibut and the Chilean sea bass both were absolutely outstanding. The sauce that was served with the halibut was out of this world would love to know what was in that! From drinks to dessert the entire experience was wonderful and I can’t wait to go back. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
Everything was outstanding! Service atmosphere and food. I had the teriyaki bites and they were perfect. Friends had the shrimp Louie and loved it as well. Will be returning.
Great service, delicious steak, no corkage fee!!! Awesome place!!!
Delicious laid back old school steakhouse. Focused on quality.
Always love to come here when we visit San Diego
We went there specifically at 5pm so we could make happy hour. When we got there, they didn’t even mention happy hour nor give us a happy hour menu; we had to ask for one. Then it took about ten minutes for us to get the menu. We were able to get everything we wanted at the happy hour price but we didn’t seem to be checked on as much so we could order whenever we wanted to. Overall, the food was good. Our waitress was also good. There was a guy by us outside on a phone call for the first 15 minutes, which was annoying, and it’s right by the train tracks and a busy intersection, so expect noise. We also had to ask for the propane heaters to be turned on, but once they were, I felt a lot better. Overall, I’d go back for happy hour but if you don’t go from 4-6, expect to have a nice bill.
Went for my wife’s birthday. The food was amazing and the service was just as good. Has that old school steakhouse feel. Not a cheap meal, but definitely worth the money.
Service and atmosphere were both great! I’m a restaurant like this we expected the food to be a little better for the price. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and was ok up until I took a bite and got a horrible fish taste, I was done at that point.
We are in town for a conference again. Last time we came here too. The food and service are both exceptional. I had a small steak and baked potato and both were perfect. The others meals were great too. Wine suggestion was great not pricey but a excellent red. Can't wait till next visit. Well done.
Excellent!!! Great time and great atmosphere. We had a wonderful time.
For a sunday night, service was slow, and my steak was overcooked. Was a table for 1. So im sure I didn't overwhelm her.
Ribeye and lobster tails perfectly prepared, an excellent martini, the best wait staff and attentive valet parking, made date night ultimately successful. Almost zero whining and begging later in the evening.
Very good service and our waiter was exceptional. Enjoyed our evening.
We enjoyed an excellent dinner of filet mignon and grilled garlic jumbo shrimp, along with the scalloped potatoes, fried calamari, awesome clam chowder, oysters on the half shell , sautéed spinach, and the halibut. They were all cooked perfectly and so tasty. It is rather loud in there, but well done. Our server, Bobby, was very attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Lou & Mickey's is the perfect place for a business meal. We showed up early for our reservation with two extra people. Despite a one hour wait in place at the time, we were seated promptly. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. It is steps from the convention center which makes Lou & Mickey's a must. Thank you for multiple excellent meals while visiting San Diego. We will be back.
The best New York steak in San Diego
Initial service was very poor, our table got lost in the shuffle when the waiter covering went on break. We waited over 20 min to have someone even take our drink order, then another 20+ min to receive them. Once our assigned waiter was back from break, he worked extra hard to make up for the rough start. They ended up comping our drinks for that round, and the rest of our service was phenomenal! Dartanian was a fantastic waiter and we ended up having a wonderful night!
Relaxed atmosphere with good staff. The food was fine.
Food was underwhelming, my mahi mahi was a bit dry and had minimal garnish , very plain dish. Service was slow due to a large party.
It has an active charm in a busy nightlife area.
Food was good ,service was awesome,me my wife was really impress with our server. We were in town for the weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. Had a good time thank you.
Very close to the convention center and fit into our schedule perfectly. Delicious seafood and cocktails!
As usual, excellent food. The 14 oz bone in filet mignon should be on everyone's bucket list. The restaurant is always BUSY and loud however the food typically makes up for the noise. Small issues with the wait staff was noise related (they messed up a dessert order) but they fixed the error quickly. If you are looking for a quiet place to propose, this is likely not the spot. However if you are looking for a loud place to break up you have come to the right place.
Delicious food. My husband loved the food and drinks. Thank you.
This restaurant is in an ideal location in the Gaslamp District. It has a nice outdoor sitting area and a good atmosphere inside but unfortunately those are the only high notes. I had an aged Rib Eye and the sides that were recommended which were the scallop potatoes and the cream spinach. All of these items lacked any flavor and were very bland. We ate later in the evening when it wasn't as busy but you couldn't tell by the service as that was lacking. It was only 9 but it seemed that everyone from the hostess on had already shut down for the night and it was a Saturday night. Overall a big disappointment.
My BF and I went for our 6-year Anniversary...our waitress made it very special. The service was impeccable! Everyone was so nice! The food was amazing! I had the salmon and my BF had the ribeye ...both were delicious!!
The atmosphere was fun as well. Very busy spot on the weekends so I recommend you make a reservation ahead of time.
Definitely coming back!
Everything was fabulous
Lou and Mickey’s had been recommended to us by a young couple that had adored it. It was very attractive and had an extensive menu that should satisfy any palate. The food was prepared deliciously as ordered. Our server could not have been more attentive nor helpful.
The selections are all a la cartel which makes it a bit pricey. The noise level is quite high for older people.
We enjoyed our evening and the wonderful dinner.
Have been twice. First time was great but second was awful. Poor service
and they had run out of specials at 7PM. Food was average
Less than expected for the price we paid along with the service. We arrived on time for our reservation but had to wait 15 minutes, once we got to our table we had to wait about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. The waitress was nice but she worked the outside area and was a little unfamiliar where things were in our area. The cocktail my wife ordered took a while to arrive. Regarding our order I ordered the salmon without pork and my wife ordered the 16oz steak, along with the clam chowder and calamari. When the entrees arrived the salmon had bacon on top of it and had to wait 15min before a new salmon entree came out, but in the meantime my wife's food drew cold as she waited for my entree to come out again. The food was tasty but having to wait twice for the main course was a disappointment. As we were eating two of the bus boy's were moving tables around and boxed me in, unable to move to move to my right side. Since it was around 1010pm, the staff seemed more concerned about leaving than ensuring my wife and I along with a other couple nearby were taken care of. I had to wave my hand to get someone in the front of the restaurant attention. Overall the food was good but just need to ensure that you stay focused until the last customer leaves.
