Such an amazing place.
We had a drink at the bar before supper. Bit busy so it was a bit of a challenge to get a second drink.
We then were seated.
I had the sea bass and husband had filet mignon. Both were superb. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely return next time in town.
My husband and I are from out of town and we decided to come here for lunch. Absolutely amazing. We both had the rib eye, salad and it was just delicious. When we come back to San Diego, we will definitely be coming back and we will tell all of our friends.
The scalloped potatoes needed a bit more favor so did my Cajun steak.. We were there to celebrate my birthday and we were never asked if we were there for a special occasion.. Overall, it was good
Excellent as always.
Not unless the "prime" Steaks where more tender and flavorful. Was not impressed.
We came for Valentines Day and ran a bit late for our reservation, but the hostess was very accommodating. The four course meal was good.
Not a bad night, unfortunately they ran out of a bunch of items on the menu, being Valentine's night and a later reservation had a little to do with that, the restaurant comped half the bill! Half! Incredible deal
It was okay, there was no desserts left so sad
It was Valentine’s Day and this place sucked! Management, wait staff, and kitchen were ill equipped to handle the volume of reservations and walk-in traffic. DO NOT COME HERE!! I hate writing negative reviews but this the worst “high-end” restaurant in all of downtown San Diego. Just save the effort and go to Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris unless you want to wait 45 mins for the first course, get cold food over and over again. We also had an undercooked Filet, which was Rare. How would you feel if you have a $99 per person 4 course meal with underwhelming food and even worse service? Ask yourself this before you go to L&M’s!!
2nd time dining at Lou & Mickey's and they were just as good as the 1st time. Their Valentines menu was excellent. We both ordered the American Wagyu and it was just amazing. I always tell my friends that they have to try it from there. They seem to cook it to perfection. Service was great, the manager is awesome.
It was Valentine’s Day so expected it to be busy and that was fine but the pre fixed menu for $99/person was worth $70 max. Food was cold and bland, cheesecake was good but creme brule was not made correctly.
Valentine’s Day menu was misleading as far as pricing, I was double charged for a steak but the waiter wouldn’t take it off, each entree was brought out. At different times, my wife had to ask more than once for her second entree. The food was very good but menu pricing and service wasn’t good.
The hostess was deep in a conversation when we arrived and ignored us for several minutes. Finally, she did greet me, find my reservation and check me in. The meal was good and we enjoyed the ambiance. However, shortly after dining here I received an email from Open Table saying I missed my reservation. Apparently the hostess had marked us as a no-show. I followed up with Open Table (this took several emails) but it was annoying and time consuming to have to do this.
Our server was not warm and friendly, but he got the job done. Food was cooked well, the goat cheese appetizer was superb. We sat outside, it was lovely.
For an 800 dollar dinner you would expect your 100+ dollar steak to be prepared right and more than luke warm. It was OK but the charge more than OK price. Disappointed to say the least.
Very poor service. Went there for our big anniversary dinner and then due to poor table service we only ordered soup which was only marginal. Big disappointment. 😫😖
We went on a Monday and enjoyed it so much we returned on Thursday. The dry aged steak is in my top 5 steaks I’ve ever had. Servers are great and know there products.
Delicious food and great service.
Fantastic food and excellent service by Desi. We will definitely be back
Service was warm and gracious from start to finish. Food was excellent without being pretentious. I was pleasantly surprised that this was quieter than many other similar restaurants. I would go again.
Excellent service, great value.
Very nice food and service. Steaks were really good.
It was great the food was excellent and the service was top-notch
Food not worth the price. Server good but coordination of food sporadic. No bread was offered. Appetizer plates were taken before next appetizer came out. Poor communication.
The food and service was amazing but it was very loud, and even though we were in a booth towards the back, it was hard to visit. But, everything else about the restaurant is fabulous.
The best filet I've eaten EVER! And the grilled artichoke starter was simple in its preparation to bring out the true flavour of an artichoke. Well I had to order a 2nd one it was so darn good. Kourtney our server was knowledgeable and was gracious with our dinner guest's demands....not very Canadian of him. We ended our meal with a Japanese Waygu steak and old fashioned chocolate cake and hot fudge sundae with all the fixins! I'm coming back as soon as I can.
Delicious food and outstanding service provided by Jill.
We stopped in early in the evening for dinner (5:30 ish). Place wasn't busy yet. In a City full of great food, Lou attentive, with good recommendations, and they knew their menu. Some may complain because its a chain. If the rest are as good as this one, I'll visit some more locations.
We had a large group and the team did a nice job positioning the tables close together and allowed us the freedom to move around.
Waitress would drop and run, no real interest in us as customers. Seated next to hostess podium despite many open tables. Noisy, cold by door that keeps opening so had to wear coat. Had to ask for desert after check was brought—because waitress didn’t bother to ask. Date was 1/20 instead of 1/21. Great food but disappointing service.
My son returning from deployment.
Incredible steak...some of the best I’ve had. I ordered the 45 day aged ribeye and was not disappointed. The servers vary in knowledge though, our neighboring table received a much more robust explanation of the different cuts/quality etc. then we did. Would still highly recommend!
Decent meal. Good service. Nice location.
Two years in a row and this place never misses a beat!! Food is delicious and the service is on point. Thank you for another wonderful experience. Hope to see you again next year😉
Delicious food. Our waiter was not very familiar with how the food was prepared, especially how the drinks are made. It was a very pricy, but also very delicious meal.
This was our second visit and everything was terrific again. The only drawback was that I mentioned my wife's birthday on my Open Table reservation and nothing was ever done about it. The hostess mentioned it as we sat down but that was it. It was forgotten after that.
Jeff our server was attentive and knowledgeable. He took excellent care of us.
Superb restaurant. Great steaks, seafood, and drinks. Right in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp District. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a great dinner, in an environment that reminds me of "someplace back East."
