Excellent Mexican food. Impeccable service.
Great waitress! Food was good.
Great Service and a wonderful, yet casual atmosphere. Drinks and food were top notch!
Great ambience and service was good.
The food was good on the small portion but good. The citrus margarita was not great it was very sour, the mimosas were ok. Service could of have been better by the server. Also if would of been nice if all the order food arrived at the same time, every dish was brought in separately minutes apart.
La Loteria never fails me and my expectations. The food is authentic and amazing all the way from the main dish to their coffee. It's a perfect place if you're looking for real great tasting Mexican food with polite and friendly service. One of my favorite restaurants in LA.
Some of the highest quality Mexican food in Los Angeles. Was there for Cinco de Mayo. Was great meal and very fun. Awesome margaritas
Good food, excellent service and pleasant surroundings, and decent price. We enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to others.
The best Mexican food we have ever had in a lively setting with great service. Highly recommend!
The food and service were great. I really enjoyed the setting of the restaurant! Definitely coming back.
This was our first visit. I picked it because (1) it was close to Pantages Theatre (we needed a pre-show place for dinner, and (2) I found a Groupon. We really enjoyed it. It was about a 10-minute walk down Hollywood Blvd from the Pantages (which is always an experience of itself). The service was great, and the owner came over to personally greet us and explain the menu (based on the food he grew up with in Mexico City). The menu was interesting and the food was very good. My only complaint was the Groupon turned out to be more restrictive than I thought, but the manager handled it very well. I would definitely return for another pre-Theatre dinner date!
Great food in a clean atmosphere. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. The nachos were great.
Had friends in from out of town who were staying in Hollywood. Was glad I could take them to an excellent and reasonably priced Mexican restaurant walking distance from the craziness of the Hollywood Highland Center. They loved the food as did I.
We used to love this place. What's happened? Service was slow and inattentive, food was bland, and the front section smells likes sewage...
Loteria is a local favoriet. Excellent meal, great ambience, comfortable setting.
Our server, Noche, was most cordial, engaging, welcoming and knowledgeable. He is one of the reasons we will come back to Loteria
Love Loteria Grill. I always forget about this hidden gem.
Our service was horrific, the menu was complicated and unclear. Even a table next to us waved our waiter down and he asked if they were ready for their Check in which they replied "no, we haven't even ordered yet" and they got there before us. Then the waiter had the nerve to circle our total and put an arrow down to the gruitity recommendations. Let's just say he didn't get the recommended amount. Very disappointed. We only had 1 night in LA and we wish we would have chosen a better place.
Being Mexican myself I thought the food was very well prepared. the ambiance was excellent with the exception of 50's rock and roll music playing at a Mexican place.... that was just weird! the service was outstanding, explained the menu to the T and cocktails were a dream!
We came here before the theater and it was perfect
My husband went for date night. We didn't end up eating entrees because the appetizers filled us up. We had the guacamole and queso and both were excellent. Combine that with a great ambiance and fabulous staff made for a great night out!
Service was okay.
Food portions okay
Overall taste was good
Drinks not that strong.
Paid too much for too little. Nothing special about this place.
Always superb food. Great drinks best margaritas in LA
Wonderful as always!!
Was disappointed that the receptionist could not find my reservation for 5 people...had to "wing-it" for seating (why bother taking the time to preset a reservation?) Other than that, the food and service was good.
First, we ordered a melon Margarita and they brought out a WATERMELON margarita. My friend drank it but didn't finish. Way too sweet. I ordered a jalapeño Margarita. It was good and was made to description. Second one came and didn't have a chile rim. Had salt. Then we ordered soup and salad. Our dinners came without us ever getting our soup and salad. Pretty disappointing.
Our waiter was very rushy, kept removing plates before we were finished. Never going here again
Very enjoyable! Margaritas were great, good food, nice service!
Food was authentic and fantastic! Service was very good and unassuming.
Phenomenal food. Great waiter. Only thing is location is slightly sketchy at night. Overall, though, a great experience.
We head over to Loteria a few times a year. It's always a joint we can count on in terms of great food and great service. This go 'round didn't disappoint. Our server was attentive, helpful, had great suggestions, and worked around the fact that I didn't really care for the Grenache I ordered and gave me a heartier wine delivered without irritation!
We made our reservations through Open Table, which always makes things easier. I do hope they use the option on Open Table to pay through their app via Apple Pay.
Poor service. Waiter was also the bartender. Left menus on our table after we ordered, and there they stayed! Never checked on us! Disappointing
We decided to try it since it was on DineLA- and were very impressed with how original the menu was and the quality of the food. I probably wouldn't have tried it without DineLA, but so glad I did-- will be back!!
Food sucked. Service sucked. Will never recommend and will never go back.
We went to this restaurant specifically because it was part of dineLA Restaurant Week, but when we asked for the prix fixe menu, they said they weren't doing it that day. It was fine, it was just annoying because we were looking forward to getting the three courses.
If you want good Mexican food and good service - this is the place. Good margaritas too.
Food and service was great. Upset I had made reservations for fathers day via OPENTABLE for 9:30 am. I got to the restaurant at 9:30, the restaurant had yet to be open, doors were locked, I told a server I had a reservation at 9:30, showed him the confirmation, and he just looked at me like "i don't know what to tell you, were not open, maybe at 10". Delayed my day quite a bit. Other then that when we were finally able to be seated, the service was good and the food was delicious.
Nice patio to sight see and enjoy the beautiful weather but I was not all that impressed with the food. I was good but it is not "authentic Mexican" this is on the same level as your El Torito's of today and those other Mexican food chains. I ordered green enchiladas and the food was not warm, my tortilla was hard and the chicken was dry. The beans were good. Drink list was good.
The food is always delicious and not the typical mexican even if you order a burrito or enchiladas. Always fresh! Hot chips and my favorite smokey salsa.
Service should be improved
Love Loteria Grill! Wonderful food every time!
