We tried to order Miller Lite, Rose wine, Jack Daniels and they didn’t have any of these. The food was really salty and the service was not very good. The pecan dessert was delicious though.
Always a pleasure to dine at lost lake lodge! Delicious food, beautiful lakeside setting. Don’t miss when you are in the nisswa area!
Our meal was outstanding. We both had the walleye. Mac and cheese was also yummy. All servers were wearing masks so we felt very safe and comfortable!
Fantastic outdoor seating. Very beautiful. Excellent scallops, delicate and flavorful.
The walleye is outstanding, and their menu very unique. I highly recommend Lost Lake Lodge in the Gull Lake region.
LOVED this place and will go back. Outstanding experience. Interesting menu. Excellent service. Steak was excellent.
We chose Lost Lake Lodge for dinning to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. We were a party of four and had (per their requirement of reservations only during the COVID-19 environment) an early evening dinner reservation.
Our choice was of outdoor dining. There is an upper deck patio and a lower deck patio that offers shade and a breeze as one overlooks the Narrows of Upper Gull Lake. It was a most peaceful, quiet, and relaxing environment.
The drink menu had Lost Lake’s craft cocktails; each of us ordering different beverages with each of us liking the preparation.
We shared two appetizers:
Creole steak bites that had very tender beef with Cajun seasoning served with grilled bread and creole mustard sauce, and
Fried green tomatoes battered in cornmeal with a pickled corn relish, greens, and a creamy balsamic sauce.
For the entrée I had the walleye, pan seared and crusted with a parmesan citrus, sweet potato hash, creamy southern slaw, and lemon caper aioli.
Two ordered the seared jumbo scallops with wild rice, smoked tomato jam, pickled relish, and watercress chimichurri.
Our daughter ordered the off menu special shrimp with spicy grits, as she had done her Air Force basic training in Texas and had eaten the dish there.
My wife and I eat out regularly (Pre-COVID) in both Minnesota and Florida at well rated restaurants, we all agreed the fare at Lost Lake was exceptionally good, and we most definitely will come again this summer.
Our server, Michael, was knowledgeable of the appetizer, entrée, and dessert offerings. We never felt hurried throughout the entire hour and forty-five-minute meal, our server being attentive to replenishing beverages and water when needed. All in all, a good time for all of us.
Great food and atmosphere! Took our 10 & 14 year old kids. Great time.
The food was fantastic! Best Walleye in the Brainerd Lakes Area!!
New GM Jacob has made some great enhancements to the restaurant - new bar in the large dining room. Great resort casual and relaxing atmosphere!
Varied and excellent menu with good price points.
Last year was a big disappointment, so we were a little apprehensive this year. Wow, what a difference. The food and service was astounding.
The glasses of wine were pretty meager. We were supposed to get 15 percent off. Had a coupon but were still only given 10 percent. Food and atmosphere were very good. Recommend the walleye!
Lost the great menu options. Very basic food. Service was a little slow.
A great value, had the filet which is from a Minnesota beef company was awesome . The Caesar salad was also excellent. But the margaritas are a must.
The Ribeye and Tenderloin were both cooked to perfection and very tender. I seldom order steaks in restaurants because I'm often disappointed but I was not this time. We had been here earlier this summer and ordered the Walleye which was good but not fantastic. After that meal the chef came out and told us about the Herford beef he uses for his steaks so we had to return and give them a try. Our friends both really enjoyed the Salmon. My wife loves Crème Brulee and she told me the hint of cinnamon made this the best she has ever had and it was a generous serving. I was impressed with the new menu and that they have included some great moderately priced items like hamburgers to suite every palate. Definitely a place to try again if it has been a few years. Gone are the dainty, tiny, overpriced menu items of the past. It was a quite noisy for a while as a large group in our small section of the dining room had a few drinks in them but eventually they left and the atmosphere improved greatly.
This was our second trip to LLL for dinner this summer and did not disappoint!
Wonderful menu, creative and presentation was beautiful....
Pot pie out of control delicious!
Southern fried chicken also a huge family hit!
Lost Lake Lodge has really upped their game since coming under new ownership. All of our food was exceedingly good...fresh and properly prepared. Our waiter was also the bartender, so he knew a lot about the different cocktails on the menu. My wife had the mac and cheese. The is NOT your children's mac and cheese! It was phenomenal. But unless you plan to share, you will definitely be taking some home. Ditto with the beignets we had for dessert; plan to share! I had the fried chicken. The crust was light and flaky and the pepper-cream gravy delicious. The mashed potatoes were a bit on the bland side. I could have used some more gravy for them. Overall, though...this is a must-eat-at restaurant when visiting the Brainerd Lakes area.
Amazing! Dock your boat, walk up the steps, and enjoy the finest food on the lake!
We were very presently surprised by the quality and preparation of our dinners. The chef is very creative, pleasant and knowledgeable . I am anxious to return
This restaurant is tucked away in the woods with beautiful views. My husband thought his scallops were delicious and my son and I loved our lobster. The view of the water was really nice. Service was outstanding. We will definitely go back the next time we are in the area.
didnt acknowledge our reservation so had no table, ended up eating in the bar. made us seem like we were being a bother for watnign to eat there when they will full with reservations.
( ummm we were one of them) bartender neglected us. another waitress stepped up to get us stuff- would have loved to tip her not him. ordered steak with mushrooms - came with no mushrooms. just lots of little things didnt go correctly.
Not even recognized by them for our anniversary. Service was terrible. Had a reservation made on open table and when we arrived they said we could sit at bar or outside area as all was reserved. Only 3 tables filled the entire time we were there. Server was worst ever. No tableware until we asked after food arrived. All tables outside received glass water glasses filled and fresh bread, other waitress. We received plastic glasses after asking. Also asked for bread. Never told of specials. Won't go back. Better train your help or you won't be around long. Too bad as always good to have several options in lake to go to.☹️
I had the walleye which was done well as were the garlic mashed potatoes.
We go to Lost Lake Lodge once or twice a year. They are under new management. While we've always had a good experience there, the cocktails and the food have been stepped up a notch. Everything was very good! Would definitely recommend.
We participated in the season close event and it was a great evening. Lot's of fun and delicious food. The bottomless wine glass was a great offering as well. We will definately do that again!
Beautiful, quiet setting on Gull Lake. Excellent, attentive service. Ambitious local-source menu. Starters, soup and salad were excellent. Entrees were limited. A full house on Saturday evening but the kitchen behind - main entree of venison was served at room temperature; walleye was over cooked and dry.
Once again, our dinner at Lost Lake Lodge was one of the best we've ever eaten anywhere. The 4-course dinner was a delight, especially the Starters. The entrees seemed to be individually and lovingly prepared - absolutely delicious. If only the lodge were a little nearer our summer cabin.
What a surprising gem in the north woods! The food was amazing, really good wine list and the appetizer list was nothing short of fabulous!
We had a party of 4 for dinner on a Sunday night and everyone enjoyed the meal. My wife and I had the local mushroom pasta and the others had a steak and salmon entree. The view over the water is great and you can see the sunset. I give this meal an A.
We decided to try this restaurant from the recommendations of friends. We have recently moved back into the area from a larger metro area and had some experience with high-end restaurants. We were not disappointed. There was a slight delay in getting served after we were seated, but they were at near capacity with a weekend crowd. Once things started rolling however, the rest of the evening went very smooth. Our server was pleasant, knowlegable with a nice sense of humor. The food was wonderful, adequate portions without overloading the plate. The wine parings were spot on and we even received complimentary flutes of champagne once the chef was aware it was an anniversary dinner. Absolutely worth a return trip.
Good but could have used more seasoning both on the walleye and in the sauce
We were very disappointed in the changes that have occured with the change of the chef. The cheese plate was pathetic, my sister's steak was under cooked- sent it back & then came out burnt, not to mention it was then served with cold sides. The rest of our food 4 out of 5 plates were nothing wowing. 3 dishes had missing ingredients, that were then brougjt out after the dishes were eaten.. Unreal! We could tell our waitress did not want to wait on our table. Why? Probably because we were having a hard time deciding what we wanted and asked her to come back twice as we didnt want to be rushed. We have been gone to Lost Lake Lodge for 4 years, had awesome food, service & experience. This year it all fell flat. we won't be returning.
The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. We had a nice bottle of wine from their well rounded wine list. It was a very enjoyable experience.
Great walleye, and dessert of berry tart was wonderful. Our second time at Lost Lake Lodge.
My husband and I took our 2 college aged kids and our 14 yr old here for a nice dinner before everyone went back to school. We have a lake place in the area but had never tried this restaurant. A little awkward at first. We were the only table at first (6:00 on Sunday night...understandable). Very old school cabin feeling but also very quaint. We had a gorgeous lake view (tiny lake). The food was simply amazing and they were very accommodating with a few special requests. I had the salmon over risotto (special request on risotto). DELICIOUS. My husband had the pork chop (super snobby eater...sorry hun) LOVED IT. We had a pastry-type appetizer that was melt in mouth...yum. Recommend highly.
My wife and I ordered the same thing: Steak, medium. My steak was rare (red & bleeding) and my wife's was well done (no pink). Our server also took my wife's dinner plate that was over half full of food without asking if she was finished. Seemed like they were trying to rush us out of the restaurant. Very unpleasant experience.
The service was stuffy. The good was not worth the money and the over all ambience was that of an Old Country Buffet.
I would not recommend Lost Lake Lodge to anyone, ever.
We've been here a few times before, and food is always good. Service has been a touch slow in the past, but we'd heard that it had gotten worse. Not that the staff aren't good or friendly, they are, it just seems that they can't keep up. I asked our server, and got the vibe that they were very backed up after we got apps, so we decided to leave, it was our anniversary after all. Didn't want to have a very frustrating evening, and I could see the frustrated looks on many of the other people that had been there longer than us. They may need to hire more staff, and if you go now, I'd suggest being early before the backlog begins.
We had a nice lunch, but it would have been better if there were more options than just sandwiches. We loved the Rose wine we had and the cheese and charcuterie starter.
