Los Vaqueros - Stockyards Ratings and Reviews
There were 3 employees at the hostess stand. After waiting 10 minutes to be acknowledged, we walk past the stand to see a waitress for a seat. The waitress was awesome but sadly the ONLY good thing in the restaurant. The food was mediocre at best. The food actually made us sick for the entire rest of the day. I had their enchilada stack off the brunch menu. A "stack" consisted of two small tortillas dipped in flavorless sauce. Please save your money and go somewhere else. The management and the thought process needs some serious replacement. First, last and only time!!
Overall it was worthy of 3 stars. The food was good no real complaints there. The service could have been better. When seated we had no silverware wrapped in its cloth. We did not get chips and salsa which is one of the first things you get. I had to pretty much ask while everyone else was getting them brought to them. It's pretty common to automatically get a straw for your drink and we had to ask. Don't get me wrong the waitress very kind and sweet to our 1 year old daughter. She just could have done better with providing the table items hat are pretty basic. Overall it was a good experience just not worthy of 4 or 5 stars.
I travel the world for pleasure and business so I visit many food establishments and keep note of those restaurants that I should visit again. I'll be back to Los Vaqueros! The service, food & Margarita's were all quite memorable. Go Pack Go!
Dishes were typical Tex Mex but very tasty. Wait staff were efficient and friendly. Love the feel of the place, historic and cozy. The beef fajita nachos were excellent and the rice, which at most places is nothing special, was unusually good. Can't wait to go back!
The entertainment was very good. It was very difficult to understand the words the actors were saying. The sound in that dinning area is not contusive to verbal projection. I would suggest body mic's. The actors and the hoist were very warm friendly people. We will try this again.
I have been going to Los Vaqueros to eat before rodeo or taking visitors to cow town. It has always been a very good restaurant. excellent parking, very good tex-mex food in rather large quantities but not enormous. The fajitas was the best I have seen recently, very sizzling!
Our waiter was quick to accommodate our needs and had an impeccable demeanor.
Yes this place ranks high on my short list of favorite restaurants.
Sorry Los Vaqueros I won't come often because you are a bit far for me, but w'll return.
This was my second time here, and even better than the last. We met there for mother's day with a big group and the service was great even though it was slammed, and the food was stellar yet again. I highly recommend this place to anyone. From the chips and salsa to the margaritas, it's above par & a great value.
I use to love Los Vaqueros. A weekly regular. Within the past two weeks I have eaten here for dinner with fsmily and friends. The service was horrible twice. The chips taste old. Takes forever to bring out the dishes. The quality of the food is not as good.
We've been coming to Los Vaqueros a few times a year for approximately 15 years. One of our best friends loves to celebrate her birthday there every year with the Guacamole Song by the strolling troubadours. That is precisely what had a group of 7 of us there last weekend.
We've also brought out of towners there as well. It is some of the best Mexican food in the DFW area.
So, in our opinion, it's really good Mexican food, awesome margaritas, outstanding service and great fun!
We'll be back again and again.
We have been going to Los Vaqueros for many years. We started going when they were in a tiny old building. Over the years I have booked my Mom and Dad's anniversary party, birthday dinner for my Dad and many other family get-togethers. Los Vaqueros has always been so awesome to work with. Very accommodating and eager to help in any way. Most of my family lived away at the time so accommodations had to be made well in advance. My 3 sons live in the DFW metroplex but still love to come to Ft. Worth and spend a fun night at Los Vaqueros. This time I called and made reservations well in advance of the Valentine weekend. Even though it was crowded the food was still awesome and everyone had a great time singing and eating right along with all. Los Vaqueros was and is still our family favorite for not just the food but the fun and relaxed atmosphere!
