Los Balcones del Peru
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Los Balcones. The arroz con pollo was delicious and so were the anticuchos (we tried squid, chicken and fish). Do not miss out on the picaroles (the Peruvian beignets). The service was friendly and efficient. They make a perfect Pisco Sour! The ambiance and music were attractive, though perhaps a bit dark in the dining area. We loved the experience and will bring friends back.
Love this place and so glad it's still open. Delicious cuisine and festive cocktails. This place will always be one of the best hidden secrets in LA.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Hollywood. I've been going here for years and not only love the food but you can't beat the ambiance right off a main street (Vine)! The only thing I would change is the parking situation (street parking only), although you can always find SOMETHING, how much you drive around or have to walk just depends on the time of day.
Everything was fantastic! From the amazing service provided by Jorge to the delicious food and the surprise birthday dessert. Thank you so much we will be coming back often.
We had the Shrimp to share with the table, the Ceviche Mixto and the Scallops. We shared all plates and were not disappointed. Service was great, despite it being New Years Day and we really appreciate it. Great food, great service, great place. Will definitely recommend and go back!
So glad we chose Los Balcones for our birthday celebration! The service was great. The food and drinks we so flavorful and cooked perfectly.
Definitely recommend the ceviche mixto and the pulpo olivas
Can’t wait to come back!
Great food and always great service
The Peruvian food was quite good. Our server made the evening very special and was very attentive and kind. I would return if only the noise level improved. It was VERY LOUD!! Maybe they could turn down the music so the guests didn't have to shout to be heard.
Always have a great meal at Los Balcones
We love George! The food was amazing and drinks were delish! But our server George was the highlight of the night. Not only is his knowledge of the menu items were on point but his hospitable and friendly service was so welcoming and warm. He was so nice and even shared great conversations with us. Because of his exception customer service along with great food, we are definitely coming back!
Awesome food and ambiance, the ceviche , lomo saltado and lamb was delicious and everyone enjoyed it tremendously
Great place for meetings, and the food is amazing. Order a pisco sour while there.
Dinner was fabulous, we shared the sea scallops and ordered a side of plantains. Wonderful, very excited that they are opening soon in Studio City nearer to where I live!
We had some Peruvian friends in from out of town, so they know ;) They thought the Chicha Morada And Pisco Sours were great. The saltado they thought was too salty but everything else was delicious. Our waiter was very upbeat. Fun evening.
I love this place! Went there for lunch- absolutely dead, as I arrived just when they opened. It was the perfect place to meet my cousin for lunch. The staff were very attentive and the food delightful. We are both Peruvian so we know good Peruvian food! Papa a la huancaina is a must have- we both had our own!
Pros: Ceviche. Calamari. Cocktails. Cons: Very dark lighting. Very loud music. Lamb shoulder entree had no meat. Sweet potato chips were good, but they charge after first basket lol.
Great Peruvian food, excellent plantain chips, very nice service
Creative Peruvian cuisine, delicious Pisco sours, good service. The restaurant was a little too dark and noisy for the four of us. We would definitely go back. Lively ambience.
We loved our visit to Los Balcones. The food was great. Our only complaint was the restaurant was far too dark. We had to use our cell phones the whole meal, we could barely see what was in front of us .
A favorite when I'm in LA. Great food, wine and vibe.
First class wonderful food and drink...we loved it!
I went a with a friend months ago and could not wait to bring my husband and friends there for a nice meal! We were not disappointed Everything we ordered was delicious!
What can I say? I've been coming here since day 1, Yes, day 1. One of my favorites... although I don't make it to that side of town too often. Love the food!
Attractive, cozy setting. Freindly, attentive service. Flavorless, overpriced food. Ceviche overpowered by chiles. Aji de Galliana with no aji, tasted like chicken salad from the deli counter at Ralphs. No hint of the character or charm of Peruvian cuisine. The Pisco Sours, however, were respectable.
Always an outstanding meal here. Everyone I bring also gets hooked and comes back even more than I get to. The food is amazing, prepared exquisitely, the staff is amazing and accommodating, I absolutely love this place. One of, if not the best, spots in LA to grab Peruvian food. Also, make sure to get a Pisca sour with passion fruit. holy cow. amazing.
Wonderful Peruvian food (great ceviches and octopus) and excellent drinks. Very friendly and accommodating service
It’s always good! Business, dating what ever the occasion.
We always have a great experience at Los Balcones. The food and drink are amazing and always remind us of our trip to Peru.
Amazing vegan food and exceptional professional service!
Great vibe, awesome food!
I mostly go here for the plantains which are amazing, but other dishes are also great, such as all ceviches, BBQ platter, steak with an egg. Drinks-wise love their pisco-based cocktails (Pisco Sour and Pisco Punch are my favorites). This night the waiter was particularly nice to us. The steak comes with different sides, I asked to substitute everything with a salad and they brought a solid bowl of the nice stuff, including arugula, radish, and a nice dressing.
I had the scallops with quinoa and enjoyed it. My mom had the lamb shoulder and didn't like it - way too much sauce and beans, barely any meat and tart dressing. Ambience was good but waitress and food took longer than I expected for the few people who were there when we arrived. All around good but not amazing
Food is terrific and the service and ambiance are great! One of my favorites!
The food was Great, and the Service was Great overall I can't say enough good things about Los Balcones del Peru.
- It was Jazz night next door (a place attached to the restaurant part) and while I enjoy jazz, is not great when all the noise bleeds through to the restaurant side during sets WHILE the restaurants music is still playing. It’s just unorganized noise and it comes out overwhelming and annoying rather than fun and lively.
- They only offer one stool/bathroom for women (yes, just one toilet) and one for men. This would be ok if they didn’t share the bathrooms with their jazz bar next door. Two toilets (one for men n one for women) are not enough when you have an additional crowd of ppl who are consuming drinks throughout their stay.
- The service could be a lot better. And the atmosphere could use soft lighting, it’s very dark, which again would be fine except 9 our of 10 people want to take pictures while there (social media has ruined us all). The patio is adorable but again it could look so much more inviting with a little lighting additions. When people post pictures of your space, its essentially showing others the vibe and feel of your space, so you might want it to be inviting.
My daughter is vegan. My husband is not. I can go either way. Los Balcones offers both! Perfect pre-theater place for The Pantages. Close, but far enough to get in a good after dinner walk!
Our group of eight enjoyed our dining experience. Lomo Saltado was well prepared and seasoned. The chips and salsa was very tasty. We will return for another evening of good eats!
The service was so friendly I forgot that I was in LA.
Their version of chips and salsa was so good I ordered two baskets.
The food was tasty.
Easley and quickly sat. Ready to order ; the server was not having it. We had arrived 10 minutes before happy hour ended Sunday evening and she wasn't interested in taking our order. In any case the food is consistently delicious, drinks too! Will wait a while to go back.
Been here a few times now and Los Balcones has never failed to satisfy. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is great. Love the bar in the restaurant and in the separate bar. Just around the corner from the Hollywood Arclight.
