About Lorenzo's Trattoria
Lorenzo’s features Northern Italian fare with a touch of contemporary flavor. Look to our menu for some of the classics as well as some modern Italian cuisine less prevalent on The Hill. Look forward to experiencing the authentic house-made gnocchi and risottos; or our signature dish, braised Osso Buco; our guests' ever favorite, Chicken Spedini; or a couple of the staff favorites, the Grilled Barramundi or Fabulous Veal Picatta.
At Lorenzo's the atmosphere is classy and laid-back. It is the type of restaurant where you can have a nice business dinner or enjoy a meal with the family.
We offer two beautiful private rooms, The Boardroom, which seats up to 14 or The Chefs Table which seats up to 8. You may choose to enjoy our patio on a beautiful day and savor one of the great Italian wines off our extensive wine menu. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable no matter what meal or day you visit. We look forward to showing you all we can offer at Lorenzo's Trattoria.

Lorenzo's Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
Appetizers were fine — bruschetta was tasty, but a little heavy on the balsamic vinegar, arancini were a little heavy. All 4 main courses were excellent. One person had the fish special (parrot fish with couscous), one had the beef special (filet with a cheese and mushroom topping), one had linguini with shellfish ( a large and beautifully arranged dish), and one branzini with olives over polenta. We ordered a bottle of Riesling and it was delicious, but the waitress did not mention that it was the last bottle until we were ready for a second do we had to choose something else. She interacted with us as little as possible— reluctant to describe dishes very much or to suggest anything. She did not pay attention to getting us correct utensils, so after each dish arrived we had to wait for someone at the table to be given the fork or spoon needed to eat whatever was just served. The meal was delicious and prices reasonable. Would be happy to return, but would request a different waitress next time.
I went on New Year's Eve with my son and my husband. My son had the special, which was a halibut over garlic mashed potatoes. It was delicious. My husband and I had risotto with seafood and it was good, but could have had more seafood. The atmosphere was lovely.
This was a very nice Christmas Eve place to have a nice meal. This evening was busy but we were seated on time. The food was excellent and our server Allie was attentive but not intrusive. We plan on going back soon. We did forget to purchase gift certificates which would save some money
We chose Lorenzo's as we were able to get a reservation on Christmas Eve. Due to a change in plans, I changed the reservation the day of and they were able to accommodate us due to the early time. The service was impeccable, and the food delicious and outstanding. We would like to return but prefer to have more non-meat options available.
We had to wait 20 minutes beyond reservation time. When we did get a table we had to squeeze at a too small table. Had to request refills for drinks. Didn't seem very coordinated this night. This was unfortunate as we had out of town guests and wanted to show them the wonder of "The Hill". Food was very good, however. The manager was apologetic about the wait and seating problems but seems like it could have been avoided with planning.
A friend and I dine out for a hobby. Until last night, we had not yet been to Lorenzo's. The restaurant has simple but beautiful decor, and it's clean - especially the restrooms. We started things off with their house salads which were excellent, followed by a pair of specials for the day, the ribeye mudega that included a wonderful mix of roasted cabbage, potato, and onions. The ribeyes were tender, the sauce and cheese was fantastic - everything was perfectly executed. The meal's companion was fresh baked bread from the hill; it's sacred to us St. Louisans with Italian roots, and a cardinal sin to let any go to waste! For dessert, I had the chocolate torte ala mode, which was excellent, as was my friend's tiramisu. Coffee refills were on time and necessary given the smaller sized cups - probably my only tiny quibble. The final bill was very reasonable for what we got. The owner clearly knows his food and overall Lorenzo's is first-rate. We will be back.
Service was very good. I had the liver it was outstanding. The Caesar salad had just the right amount of dressing on it and was very good as well. We enjoyed the dining experience and after about 2.5 hours the manager asked us if we would move to the bar to accommodate a large party, he was gracious and gave us several after dinner drinks on the house.
Came here on the recommendation of a friend and was very happy we did. We had a very good experience, the food was excellent and would/will be going back!
Our table was ready on time, the drinks were good, service (Jen) was excellent and the food delicious.
We always have a great dinner at Lorenzo’s. This occasion the food was terrific. My husband ordered the Osso Boco, and the only complaint was it was too much food. I had the veal piccata and it was perfect. We love the house salad and the cannoli’s for desert were super. The meal ended with a cappuccino. The only complaint we had was the seating. We sat near the door and due to the cold weather, experienced several shots of cold air on our legs during dinner. Not good.
This was our first time at this restaurant. House salad was tasty but not exceptional. Bread was fresh and delicious. Wife had the fetucini with chicken and I had the angel hair pasta with sausage. Both were very good although I liked the fettacini better. We made reservations for Christmas Eve dinner
Seated at the Chefs table which is right off of the kitchen. No additional service/amenities are provided there and the ambience is poor. Would not recommend. The food is good but the staff is not friendly or attentive. We had theater tickets which we mentioned but we were not brought a check until only 30 minutes before showtime.
Lorenzo's Trattoria never disappoints and this was no exception. We went for a family birthday party and everyone raved about their food from the Caesar Salads, Seafood Linguine, Angel Hair, Fettuccine Alfredo, Bistro Filets & Chicken Spedini. Strongly recommend for anyone seeking a great experience on The Hill neighborhood of St. Louis.
The food is always delicious, well presented, and the portions are plentiful. The entrees look like they should be photographed for a food magazine! It is a favorite place because it has a nice casual atmosphere but with an upscale feeling. The staff has always been efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly yet giving you plenty of space for private conversation.
