Perfect- just as we expected!
we enjoy the porch upstairs
you can feel the vibe and see the action- bit it's not right on top of you
There is something for everyone to eat here, of course the walleye is amazing .we were in the screened in porch and it was lovely , we got to listen to the sounds of the volleyball game and watch the boats come through the canal and the happy hour fun on the wharf deck. So fun and a perfect place for a birthday.
Outside very busy as expected because of boaters.
Food is over priced.
A unique one time experience.
Our server, Molly, was wonderful and provided excellent service! My sea bass special came out inappropriately cooked, and she and the kitchen had another meal out to me in less than 5 min - they did a great job correcting the error. We will definitely be back! Thanks!
So delicious and great service
The best walleye anywhere! Just a classic, wonderful restaurant.
We had a party of 8 on the screen patio for a summer evening dinner. As always the food was wonderful (walleye is always recommended). We took our time and enjoyed the evening-not being rushed at all by our waiter. Always top-notch 😊
The service and food were great. It was our first time. We live in Saint Paul, so it was kind of a hike, but we will probably be back.
Great night out!!!
Wonderful dinner on the 4th! We started on the screened in roof deck, but it kept getting hotter as sun crept closer --- the hostess was so accommodating and quickly moved us into another nice table with a view, inside with air conditioning!! Will definitely be back -- terrific experience! :)
I want to emphasize that our dining experience was indoor, in the sit-down restaurant; not outside where all the boaters gather.
Our server was very kind, but kept apologizing about how they were so short-staffed. No apologies were needed; service was absolutely fine! Moreover, they did not charge us for drinks - which were modest: one manhattan and two glasses of wine. We compensated with a much more generous tip than I would otherwise give (on the order of 30%).
We arrived by boat and pulled into one of their slips, and they had deck-hands to aid in mooring my boat. Unnecessary, but nevertheless much appreciated - my teeny little 18' runabout boat was BY FAR the smallest in their marina!
My biggest criticism about Lord Fletcher's is not at all about the establishment per se, but rather the PATRONS.
OMG, what an arrogant, entitled, snobbish, MAGA-Trump-Supporting lot!!! I had planned ahead and made reservations, but upon our arrival, another couple, who had NOT made reservations, were greeted by the host with a courteous, "May I help you?"
HIS response: "I don't know. Can you?"
Her response (his partner, not the host), in a very demanding tone: "We would like a table please, outside."
Host response: "Let me check please, and see what we have available"
Later, host returns: "Luckily, there is one spot remaining, let me seat you."
Afterward, the same host returns, asks us, to which I replied that I had made a reservation, and were promptly seated. My wife and I tried to be as polite as we could be, and Lord Fletcher's returned in kind.
I felt the need to apologize for the rudeness of the previous couple, but I surmise that Lord Fletcher's is used to that kind of behavior. (It is, after all, on Lake Minnetonka.)
Still, I don't care if you are in New York City, or in Minot North Dakota. There is no excuse for rudeness by patrons.
You should have a chicken dish on menu
Our server was very nice and food excellent. Celebrated our anniversary and was a special evening.
Ordered fillet and it was not cooked to specs had to send it back. The brisket in the pasta was like chewing shoe leather.
Casey was our waitress, and she was fabulous! My husband and I had the Walleye special, and it was scrumptious! We received a free mud pie dessert to celebrate our 54th anniversary, and it was rich and delicious. We enjoyed our table in the dining room by the window so we could watch all the boats and people coming and going. Great evening, and unbeknownst to us, our daughter had paid for the meal! What a special treat that was!
As usual, the food was delicious. Our server was Molly and everyone complimented her friendly and caring disposition!
Great vintage lake restaurant that is fun to return to for special occasions which we did recently and many times to celebrate our anniversary. The host and servers acknowledged our 48th anniversary. The service, food and ambience was up to Fletcher’s usual standards as expected. After ordering dessert and then closing out our receipt our server returned to tell us that a gratis dessert had been available. It was a 90+ degree day and she questioned if we wanted a to take out an ice cream based dessert. This seemed rude and not well thought out. The complimentary dessert should have been presented at the end of the meal instead of offering it up after we’d had dessert. A minor issue, but it left a bad taste!
Birthday party. Service was great. Love sitting on the upper outdoor patio.
Make sure they record you showed up for Open Table. They didn’t for us and I received a slap on the wrist from Open Table.
Great. I had my 75th birthday at Lord Fletcher’s- my choice. Glad to hear that it is now opening for Sunday brunch. How about Monday burgers on the deck?
Celebrated a friend’s 80th birthday. Food, drinks, service & view were superb! Loved every minute!
The restaurant's half salad was delicious. Good recommendation by the server Emma. I had the pork chop which I feel was the BEST pork chop I've ever had, EVER. Thanks for the additional treat for our 59th Anniversary. Thanks again for everything, we'll be back. Ron Poeschel
Always good service upstairs in the fine dining. Great ambiance. Best walleye anywhere!
We've been to Lord Fletchers before, but this last experience was a bit disappointing. We sat on the screened in patio upstairs, and the music from downstairs was a bit too loud. The wait staff was really friendly and attentive, but I believe they were understaffed. It was over 30 minutes before we ordered and almost an hour before our food arrived. The food was good, but the vegetables had far too much butter.
First post pandemic trip to LF. Awesome. So glad they were doing their brunch buffet again. Mostly good. We just noticed that the dishes on the buffet were not replenished in a very timely way. Everything else was great.
Great new menu items. The wharf needs some refresh on food.
Everything was wonderful, except charged $2.00 for bread...strange, and charged $4.00 for potatoes, if you didn’t want what was with the meal you ordered. Potatoes were just squares from a pan, 2 kinds so they could just give you a square from either pan. Really did not make sense. Otherwise, everything was very nice.
Love the lake and the boat watching. Nice to sit on the porch bug free.
We had the Sunday Brunch Buffet. Quality and taste of the food was excellent, it has greatly improved! Especially liked the Salmon with capers and prime rib (medium rare). The choices were abundant. Our server was attentive and friendly!
The food was excellent and the service good. Beautiful view of the lake as well.
We sat on the screened in upper deck, with a great view of the docks and the activities around the wharf bar. We al had the walleye and it was terrific, as usual.
Menu needs improvement. No real specials. More fish! I know w Covid things have changed but menu is small in town dining room considering the venue it is.
First time at Lord Fletcher. While it was pricey ($230 with T&T) for 3 of us and only 2 entrees ordered. Each of us ordered salads (2 Caesars and 1 Cobb salad).
The caesar was excellent with large romaine leaves of lettuce which required cutting. Plenty of anchovies with fried capers and parmesan cheese. Each salad would have been sufficient for 2 people to share. We shared a small plate of (3) fried bluegills. The breading was tasty but too heavy for the bluegills. Two of us shared a grilled Walleye which was tasty and the third member of our party ordered the ribeye cooked medium which was served more toward medium-well though still tasty. We ordered a side of shitake mushrooms. Entrees included side vegetable of broccoli and a potato (french fries which were very good and potatoes au gratin which was nice and cheesy though a bit salty as were the mushrooms). We also ordered bread service ($2). For drinks we had a glass of merlot, a glass of port and a pina colada. For dessert we shared a mud pie which was very good.
Our wait staff was very attentive, friendly but professional. We sat on the balcony which, while noisy, was enjoyable as we listened to music, watched the sunset and viewed the boats and people below going in an out. Overall, a very good experience. Recommended for special occassions.
I had been anticipating going to Fletchers for - literally months. My employees gave me a gift certificate and used to to take my sister out for Mother's Day on this past Saturday night. Not very impressed. Sitting on the "deck" was chilly. They said it was heated.
There was a prom night event going on so the kids were very noisy - not something I would have associated with an upscale restaurant.
As for the food: The mushroom appetizer: way too salty and over cooked. Looked like they had been in the pan for an hour - no moisture in them at all. kind of dried up looking and curled edges. I asked to switch the au gratin potatoes for some other type and was charged and extra $3. Outrageous. How hard can it be to put some fingerling potatoes on the plate instead? My sisters steak tips were way overcooked: chewy, dry and not tender. The best thing was the mocha dessert. Very disappointed.
as a customer since 1973 I was disappointed, place is same but prices changed so much more and got so little, no special potato, veg and bread, as before.
we didn't go cheap; ordered walleye and salmon, both good as before but 50% more $$ !!
Calamari appetizer was great. Not fried and delicious different style of preparation. Pan fried walleye very good. Service exceptional and I never had to ask for more coffee.
Fantastic food inside the restaurant!! Will be coming back again for their delicious steak
Food quality and taste has definitely suffered after shutting down for 6 months due to COVID.
We were very excited to be going out for one of our first times in two years due to a baby and then the pandemic. Was just really hoping for a smooth and enjoyable evening. And overall it was fine- but I KNOW that if the management and owners had had our experience they would agree it was average and not up to Fletcher’s standards.
To begin the host could not find our reservation even after I gave her my married name AND maiden name (which it was under). Luckily we still were seated. However, I have a feeling if Covid wasn’t still an issue we wouldn’t have had such luck.
We were disappointed to learn that both bread service and salads are now chargeable items-again must be due to economy, Covid and covering for only being able to be at a certain capacity- it’s not fair that cost be put on the guests, everyone has suffered during this last year.
We stated the reservation was for a birthday-are birthday complimentary desserts also removed due to Covid?? Again, not disclosed before hand and disappointing from such a highly rated place.
Overall, the food was good, the server (Jenny) was awesome. But the reservation being “lost” due to a name issue, the extra cost for bread service and salad, and the lack of disclosure of all these changes is frustrating. Again, the server, and cooks did their job. I believe this is a front of house and management/ownership issue.
