Lord Fletcher's Ratings and Reviews
We are regulars and this visit did not disappoint. I had the walleye dinner, always a hit. My wife had the lamb loin with fig risotto and it was outstanding. I wanted to go back the next night and have what she had. We love lamb and this was perfectly cooked. In the past, we loved the lamb shank as well and would love to see that back on the menu. Excellent comfort/winter food.
My husband and I dined at lord fletcher’s for my birthday dinner. Unfortunately, I ordered the filet mignot and my husband ordered the steak sandwich. I ended up sending it back because it did not taste good and potatao was cold and in a packed square. I was disappointed in the price and expecting a nice entree and the quality/taste wasn’t there. My husband didn’t care for his sandwich either but we felt bad having to send back more food. I did enjoy the bread basket because I was so hungry. The server was sweet and did a pretty good job. Overall,
the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice but very disappointed in the food quality and the prices seemed high, it did not match up.
A good friend was starting a new job. Our waiter was fantastic!! We has a problem with one of the steaks bring too well done, he quickly brought out a new one. He went 110 percent to make our evening great!!! He went into detail regarding different wines that you offer and the one he suggested was perfect with our meal. He gave a complimentary dessert to the person we were celebrating. It was a wonderful evening, we will be back.
This particular visit was not our best. We usually have the pan fried Walleye but this time we wanted to try the beer battered Walleye. Big mistake. It was under cooked and the inside of the batter was very soggy and disgusting. My wife and I dug the Walleye out of the batter and ate just the Walleye instead of complaining. Our fries were also soggy. We have seen on TV what cooks do to peoples food when you send it back so that's why we chose not to send it back. In all it was very disappointing. We drive all the way from Ramsey to eat here on a regular basis and this is by far the worst experience we have had here. We both got the Lava cake for desert and it was so rich and over bearing that we could not finish that as well. Which was recommended by the server. Who was very slow that night. In all it took nearly 90 minutes from start to finish before we were done. If we have an experience like this again we will no longer make that trip all the way from Ramsey.
We were seated immediately with a scenic window spot. Our drinks came quickly, followed by our excellent salads and the best walleye dinners, all without any wait. We arrived before 6pm so we got in on the Early Bird Special, which was an added bonus. It is a very comfortable, friendly place to eat.
Went for Brunch. Very nice selection. Walleye was great, Prime Rib was very tender and we weren't sliced a see-thru piece as in other brunches...Salads very tasty and desserts heavenly.
One note, our waiter told us the omelets were second to none....best in the business....famous....and it was over cooked and nearly inedible. No harm no foul, we just left it and made another food selection, but don't hype it if you can make better in your own kitchen.
A glorious Sunday evening spent having dinner on the screened in porch off the main dining floor was a a delightful venue to celebrate my birthday. We had filet steaks, sword fish, served with Fletcher's signature potato a gratin. The Caesar salad is yummy as a started with the large Parmesan crisp on top. And sometimes it is the little things that make a dinner great such as the warm bread service with butter that appeared right away at the table to start the meal off right.
This is our favorite date night or Sunday brunch location. A bit hidden to non-locals, and they aren't quick to share it because they like to keep the crowds down. Pull up for valet in your car, DIY park, or float your boat into the dock for a table or drink.
Excellent dining room food, decent bar food. There's a definitive difference between the two in taste and price. You get what you pay for here. The walleye is always good, and the sprecials are a good bet. Desserts are fantastic so save some room.
Let them know if it's a special occasion and they will take care of you!
We are not from the area but were in town to attend a Living Room Series performance by pianist, Lorie Line, who had recommended Lord Fletchers as a place for dinner.
We both had the 10 oz. New York steak on the "Early Catch Special" so the price of $21.95 for the full dinner was very reasonable. The house salad and French bread were delicious and the steak, which we ordered medium rare, was cooked to perfection.
Our waiter was Tom and on more than one occasion he seemed a bit hasty and impatient with my friend when she was deciding on her order for both food and wine. Our food was brought to the table by a different member of the wait staff. Tom did check on us a couple of times and did bring more bread and water upon request.
We were there on a busy Sat. night and due to the rain earlier in the day there no one was being seated on the porch or deck. Perhaps the feeling of being rushed came from the need to turn over tables more quickly than normal.
Food was fantastic. Server knew details of the menu. Service was prompt and food was delivered as ordered. Food was reasonably priced for the quality and location. Drinks were very expensive, over twice what I would have expected at a sports-bar or similar.
