We often dine at L'Orcio and always enjoy our meal and the experience. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the New Haven area!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience from start to finish. The setting, service and food was great!. We dined on the patio and enjoyed it tremendously.
Will will be back soon!
We loved the outdoor terrace and the food was wonderful. From the farro salad to the grilled octopus and on to the entrees, spaghetti with shrimp, the chickpea ravioli and papardelle with ragu, everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The wine list had many nice choices and was also well priced. We will be sure to go again.
L'Orcio has the finest Italian food in New Haven!! And that says a lot. Everything is made fresh and the dishes are truly divine. Outside patio dining is lovely. Service is always excellent.
The staff was very friendly, service was perfect, food absolutely delicious, we did not have to wait, can't wait to go back
The food continues to be the best in New Haven.
We have dined here a few times over the last three years. The food and the service are consistently very good with a very nice wine list.
Always delicious!! Fresh made pasta dishes can’t be beat!! Our favorite place
The food is impeccably served and delicious! Service is polite and efficient. Calm, pleasant atmosphere.
Outstanding food and service as always!
We enjoyed the food, drinks and our waitress was so sweet and attentive. We'll be back!
Very busy they have a special on Tuesday. I have eaten here many times it has slowly declined. One of my favorites apps is the lemoncello shrimp. This night it just tasted of oil and garlic. Food came out very slowly. To bad I really used to like this place.
L'Orcio was pretty good! The portions were nice - not too large and not too small. It was $10 pasta night, so they were understandably very busy, and we barely saw our waiter because he was running around so much, but it was all in all enjoyable and I'll be back again!
The BEST Italian kitchen!
Had a delicious anniversary meal. Our server Ashley was excellent. We shared a chicken liver pate starter. Then ordered Ravioli barese and Salmone al Pepe Verde. We finished with delicious lemon Ricotta cheesecake. Would recommend the restaurant.
We sat outside in the garden...lovely ambience...almost felt as if we were in Europe.
The food was excellent-the branzino was superb, fresh and perfectly prepared.
We would recommend it without reservation!
Birthday celebration was great! Would love to come back to this restaurant in the future. Amazing food, amazing service, and the back patio was a perfect Saturday night dinner ambience.
I made our reservation online with OpenTable, adding a note that we would prefer a table in the outside seating area. However, the restaurant did not receive the note, and there were no more tables for six people outside and so we sat inside. This was disappointing, because we chose L'Orcio so that we could sit outside. However, apart from that, we enjoyed our food and the attentive service. I will know to call to request an outside table if I make a reservation in the future.
Unfortunately the pasta was undercooked and the sauces were underwhelming in flavor. We had a veal ravioli that was so bland and tasted old. The Bolognese did not taste fresh which is disappointing since it’s the middle of summer and all veggies are fresh. Something was really off this time. It seems like they just warmed up old sauces.
This was my first time there and i had such a wonderful experience. It was great food, service and i loved that you dont have big screen tv, when i was there i loved the wonderful music you were playing. I will be bsck.
I loved the garden room outside except a wasp kept landing on our food and drink. I’m severely allergic so this made me nervous. The waiter and staff are not friendly at all and our waiter made us feel rushed to put in our main order. His recommendation for the gnocchi was not good. It was drowned in tomato sauce. Overall ok but I would not highly recommend it.
Good taste, fun drinks and atmosphere, and friendly staff, but there was a bug in my food. I pointed it out to my waiter and they took my plate away but didn't replace it. Still charged me for the dinner. I get that things happen in New Haven in the summer and bugs get everywhere - I certainly have some in my apartment - but just not a great way to handle it.
A little mosquito control in the garden would be appreciated.
Good was nothing to brag about. And the pricing was high. Felt that for what we paid we could have gotten better Value. We had this sardine appetizers. Came out cold. And the artichoke with prosciutto and roasted peppers appetizer or something that look like my granddaughter put together. Value. We had the sardine appetizers. Came out cold. And the artichoke with prosciutto and roasted peppers appetizer was something that look like my granddaughter put together. Service was subpar. Our waitress didn’t bring a sprite until we were halfway done with our appetizers. And she really didn’t check on this very much.
All in all and a scale of 1 to 10 I give the place at two.
Great evening Service was very good and the patio was very nice
My first time, definitely not my last
Great food and atmosphere esp eating on the patio. Fresh pasta dished were tasty - well seasoned and the octopus salad continues to be one of my favorites.
I have eaten at this restaurant several times this summer, the garden area is like eating in in Italy. The food is always excellent, service is on point. I wish they would expand the list of Gin that they carry.
Great for a special occasion my friend felt they should have offered a salad with the dinner
The food is better than a chain restaurant but I guess we had higher expectations for an Italian restaurant in New Haven. The food is not bad, just not spectacular. There are better Italian restaurants in the area. The outdoor garden is wonderful. A little gem of a spot in the middle of the city but stay clear of the pasta dishes. Mushy pasta isn’t good pasta.
The ten dollar Tuesday deal is unbeatable. Some of the best pasta I’ve ever eaten.
I used to recommend L'Orcio to friends. I no longer feel comfortable recommending it since my date became very sick immediately after eating there. The food was delicious, the ambiance fantastic, the service lovely, yet we're not comfortable going back.
You can get a better meal with friendlier staff for the same price in New Haven. The food was average, the staff wasn't rude, but kind apathetic.
Great homemade pasta and nice atmosphere. We had learned of it through a friend, and were glad they shared the recommendation with us!
Perfect evening on the terrace. Great food and service
Nice to eat outdoors. Menu could be more inventive but food was delicious
I really don’t want to recommend this fabulous place because I like to keep it a secret because it’s that good !
Tom was one of the best waiters we've ever had, even when the restaurant was extremely busy. We've come to L'Orcio many times (including for a birthday, a graduation, and this time, a wedding anniversary) and will keep coming back.
Surprisingly satisfying, old world feel, quiet. Nice chicken and veal dishes. Very reasonable prices.
We LOVE L’oricio. One of our all time favs. We introduce family From Simsbury to your lovely restaurant. We obviously, like so many other patrons, love sitting outside however Sunday night was unbearable and we were inside at the six top by the round window. I’m sad to say there was no air back there and it was quite uncomfortable. That would be our only concern. Otherwise will be back again and again and again.
