L'Orcio Ratings and Reviews
I had a ravioli special with artichokes and leeks. It was much too salty and I couldn't taste the artichokes. My husband felt that his short rib ravioli special was good but not great.
Our server was very nice but service was extremely slow. Our server appeared to have too many tables. We ran out of time to have dessert despite telling our server early on that we had theater tickets. I might come back some time in the summer to sit on the patio.
Food was very good except for one pasta dish that my husband found bland -- it was a very plain tomato sauce on bucatini. Other pastas were quite good including a potato ravioli with a yummy shiitake sauce. I would love to give this restaurant 4 or 5 stars but there was a mix-up with our order (waitress said the printer had broken?) and we waited for over an hour for entrees. Put a damper on the evening which was a special family gathering. Most restaurants (if they are admitting an error ) offer the customers some kind of extra to compensate. Or take the price of one dish off the bill. Or something. It certainly would have improved our mood and overall experience if that had happened.
5 stars all around! Food is excellent and service was great! First time we have eaten inside, as we frequented this great find during the summer in outside patio. Rear outside patio is private
and away from the cars, noise and fumes from dining on the street! We come up from Norwalk and have never been disappointed. Good value too! Authentic Italian food!
I always like coming here especially in the summer sitting on the patio. This visit was on a freezing cold day we sat upstairs with a group of 6, by the window and over looking state street..really nice table. Food was all delicious we all shared and $10 pasta Tuesday was great for appetizer! Server was there to pour our wine and check on us often. Nice job everyone!
As always, L'Orcio is brilliant Italian food, and the special $10 Pasta Tuesdays is a can't beat deal for some of the best pasta outside of Italy. I love the patio under the arbor in the summer, but the coziness of winter is equally appealing. Worth a long drive to get to!
I took a colleague her for dinner, his recommendation and the food was very good. The only thing I can say is that they are on State street and don't have parking so you'll need to obtain street parking and depending on what is going on this could be an issue.
We celebrated our "end of the season" dinner at L'Orcio. We had a wonderful experience. The bar and wait staff were attentive and the food was outstanding. The menu has something for just about everyone and the wine list was varied and manageable.
Overall - just an outstanding dinner.
EXCELLENT ITALIAN FOOD, AND CHOICES AND VALUE. GREAT WINE SELECTION, BUT NOT OVERPRICED WITH A NICE POUR. AMBIANCE IS COZY AND ROMANTIC, YET CAPABLE OF BEING READY FOR A NICE BUSINESS DINNER OR GATHERING OF FRIENDS OR FAMILY. MY WIFE & I REALLY ENJOY DINING HERE.
We just returned from 3 weeks in Italy, our favorite place in the world, and L'orcio is the closest you'll find in this whole area for simple, authentic, and perfect cuisine. Never leave without trying at least 3 different pastas, and always end with the Torta Della Nona....
I have been to L'Orcio last Spring and had a delicious lunch in the garden. Last Fall I had another very good meal indoors. This time, however, it was Restaurant Week, and 4 of us came to enjoy the prix fixe menu. I was much less pleased than during my previous visits. Absolutely cold bread, rather tasteless olive oil, no butter were served first. Our appetizers, hot dishes, arrived almost cold, and mine, in particular, was a real disappointment. Supposed to be snails in a tasty sauce served on toasts points, it was a bland and soggy mess. The roasted veggies appetizer was the best, but again, not really warm. Our main courses were good, although not as special as I had remembered. Desserts were unimpressive. Service was good, but if we return, it will definitely not be during Restaurant Week!
