Menu looked good but in reality, food was awful. My order was messed up, and to begin with they tried to convince me that was what I ordered but then later acknowledged their error. When I eventually got my food, I was completely underwhelmed. My friend ordered the pork belly mac and cheese and it was not anything like she expected either.
Service was also pretty bad - felt like we were interrupting the bar staff to order food, and the food took a long time to come.
I used a taste card, so it was 50% off, but even with such a massive discount, I can’t say the food was worth the price we paid. Wouldn’t recommend eating here unless you had no other choice and don’t care about the quality of the food or service.
I had booked a table for 2, however we were asked to sit at a table near the entrance, which was not very nice due to noise. I had planned this for my friends birthday. Music seems to always be the same. Service was ok, after some clarification as the barman was not aware of drink prices. Overall we did manage to enjoy ourselves. Thanks
We asked for the 50% off food deal but were charged full price
Loop Bar is a nice secluded venue off of Oxford Street. Visited during the week and it was perfect for a quiet afternoon meal. Unfortunately my preferred steak was not available, so I had a smaller sirloin (pout) while my husband had the only available ribeye, but a lovely meal nonetheless. Waiter was kind and attentive. No complaints and superb value with special offer. Quite enjoyable!
We didn't stop to eat because on entering the bar it had a funny smell to it.
Great food, questionable service, insanely priced drinks (a G&T which was not listed on the menu but ended up being about three times the price of a cocktail?!) Massively out of kilter with what was a very reasonably priced and tasty lunch. Left in a bit of shock but in the confusion should have challenged the bill or had service taken off - disappointing.
January deal was great value for money however food was slow to the table
We booked online for a Tastecard meal at 6pm, and the staff seemed baffled when we arrived. It took a good few minutes until we were seated. It must have been Happy Hour, as two glasses of wine cost £7-odd, although there was nothing advertising this. We asked for the music to be turned down a notch as we couldn't hear ourselves speak. I had steak and sides, my mate had sea bream, both of which were excellent, if a little cold. It was excellent value for money, given the 50% off. I would definitely go again, but if the experience was the same, it would probably be the last time. I understand that The Loop is primarily a nightclub, and given that, I thought the food was very good.
Not impressed at all with this place. I have no idea why they think people would want to eat with music so loud!
I was very pleased with costumer service. The blonde lady and Korean lady were lovely. (I didn't catch their names )
We booed here and enjoyed the food. The service was a bit hit and miss but friendly. The food was OK too. Be aware as one wall is part of a bar/ nightclub below ground. This is good if you want to join in afterwards, otherwise can be noisy and overbearing on ambiance front!
So below our expectations from the description here. Has the ambience and decor of a student bar upstairs. Music too loud to be able to easily chat. Went to the restaurant for our 7.45 booking and we were the only diners. At all. All night. Just us. While we are the staff were moving furniture around us to make way for "student night". The menu was very poor with nothing imaginative, and very little vegetarian. Thank god I wasn't on a date...
Went during Happy Hour. Great cocktails at half price. As we were there late afternoon we snacked on starters and sides, rather than having a full supper. The food was OK, but did not entice for a return visit for a full meal. Perhaps the main courses are much better than the starters? I would recommend for the cocktails. The music is far too loud, uncomforatble for normal conversation.
Nice food and great to combine with happy hour!
Nice food and great to combine tastecard offer with happy hour. Will be back!
We went for the 50%off and it was great value but the service was poor, had to get the attention of the waiting staff at all moments, no discount added to the bill, they just wernt attentive. The goat cheese start is completely over priced if at full price but the chicken burger was really good. Not somewhere i would back to though.
The cocktails were great but the service poor. The food was bland and would not inspire me to eat there again.
We had a great table and excellent service. The waitress was friendly and helpful. However, the music from the club oart next door encroached on our conversations. If you want to dance, excellent venue. If you want to chat and catch up with friends, go somewhere else.
My friend and I had home made nachos, steak and few coctail. Had a very nice waiter who looked after us even he was extremely busy being alone on whole floor. Great value for money. If u get there before 8 its a happy hour drinks for £3.9
good fajitas and great happy hour in soho
The restaurant was completely empty throughout our meal but meant for poor ambience. However, the food was great - very tasty, large portions and good service. With the TT offer, it was extremely good value for money as well. The large portion of onion rings is massive!! Although, we'd booked, they didn't have details of the offer and presented us with the full price bill. This was easily corrected with the printout of the booking/offer. Overall, would go back but hopefully there is more ambience next time round.
We arrived on time to Loop restaurant, to discover that the restaurant area was fully reserved for an event.
The staff knew nothing about my confirmed booking...
Asking the duty manager , he gave no explanation to why wasn't I informed either by the restaurant or by Top Table.
To avoid embarrassment in front of my gusts , I had no option except to sit & eat in the bar area....
Loop Bar have revamped their menu and it has an American Twist. New items include Buttermilk Chicken, Chilli Cheese Fries, Hot Dog etc. Old food items are no longer available. If it's normal boring pub grub you are after it is available opposite at Bonds. Food was great, big portions and great value (especially with Toptable current offer of 50% off food bill).
In short, it was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant! No ribs, no rice, no mash and so on!!!
The waitress tried to give a silly excuse for the poor showing!
Just terrible and a complete waste of time!
As a 50% off deal, this was great value, however; I would not have been overly impressed if I had paid the full value.
Excellent service and ambience.
Staff were rude, claimed didn't have a booking even after producing the print out with the confirmation. Told the 'stand here and wait until i find something'.
Food was boring, unexciting and meh.
Place was 'Not Memorable'
Pleasant dining experience - good value and food was ok. would return
The fact that the restaurant is right next to their nightclub, made conversation really difficult, as it was really loud.
We dined at 7pm, which wasn't late at all... and the food was amazing, but the music was so loud we couldn't talk to each other which made the experience just a little disappoingint
Good food, lovely people and great atmosphere,
I was out for dinner with two friends last saturday. The staff was really unfriendly (they were in a hurry) but this means also long waiting times. The food is tasteless, the burger was awful compared to other places like Bodeans which serves cheaper and much better burger.
We ordered a jug of a mixed Cocktail for 19 Pounds and there was almost no alcohol in it. In the end we spent 112 Pounds for three persons including the 50% off, too much for this place.
We knew that the Restaurant will be loud as the Club is right next door - that was ok for.
We came here for a hen night and they gave us our private cove at the back which is great but the ceiling looked like it was damp and had loads of mould, and at one point a bit of the ceiling fell down, the food took an hour and half to come out but they offered us a round of drinks on the house. after we had our meal which was delicious we went to the dance floor and the music was great. I recommend for group bookings for a good fun night out.
We had a lovely meal at the Loop bar, the fillet steaks were very good. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere for a Friday evening was lovely. Cocktails were half price during happy hour which was also great. We will definitely go back and would recommend to people who are looking for a nice meal, drinks after work!
The food was good and very good value with the 50% offer we used, and although the venue was very vibrant and the music loud you are a bit segregated in the restaurant so you are able to enjoy your meal and have a chat. Therefore, we enjoyed listening to good music, eating good food and drinking nice wine. However, I had to use the toilet (twice in total) which was one of the most unpleasant experiences I have had in a long time. The woman who sits in the toilet trying to sell items (and charge you for toilet paper and soap!) continually chanted revolting and incredibly crude made up rhymes. It was disgusting and ruined a really good evening. Such a shame that one person can have such a big and negative impact on a good venue.
Nice food and plenty of it, with very friendly service, and at a good price. Did feel like we were having dinner in a nightclub though!
The Loop bar is great if you don't mind loud music and crowds. We were disappointed that the restaurant area was so close to one of the very busy, loud bars as we could not hear each other speak. However, the service was attentive and the food surprising good portions and tasty. We had the haddock and chips which was a very good portion. This was good for the 50% off food offer but not sure if I would want to pay full price.
With the 50% off food deal and Happy Hour, we found the Loop Bar outstanding value. The service was friendly and the food was great but the whole evening was spoiled for us by the fact that the restaurant is situated right next to the nightclub and the music is just too loud for people who just want to chat over dinner. We moved tables, as did at least two other parties, and the table next to us left without ordering anything. If they could have just shut the door(!), it would have been lovely. It's a shame as, if it was just a bit quieter, I'd definitely go back.
After reading the reviews I decided to take some colleagues to the Loop bar on a Monday night for food. Unfortunately when we arrived it looked more like a student bar. We went downstairs to find the restaurant only to pass through an empty night club. The food was not great and was slow. The waitress was attentive but there were only a few people in there on a Monday. With the 50% off the prices are ok (I would not pay the full amount).
great food, great atmosphere, good service, music a little loud but fun nonetheless.
The 50% off food was amazing value and as we went during the drinks happy hour we managed to et those half price too!
