This little restaurant is hidden through the meticulous and beautiful gardens and behind the low-rise Hermosa Inn, but opens up to an outdoor paradise speckled with fountains and fireplaces, resulting in a cozy oasis in the desert. This wonderful visual experience is rivaled by the culinary and cocktail options. I have visited many fine restaurants around the world and this one is in my top ten, for certain.
Beautiful setting. Delicious food. Great service .
Beautiful environment! The reason we go to Lon's. Food is a bit hit and miss. My fish was wonderful, but my husbands fillet mignon was not - it was cooked appropriately but lacked seasoning, or at least needed to be better seasoned.
Overall our experience was very good. Lon's is one of the restaurants we visit each year when we stay in Scottsdale. The only off note was my husband's three fish special, some of the lobster was tough and not edible. He didn't say anything because he didn't want to make a fuss. Otherwise, we enjoyed our evening very much.
Always good and amazingly good valu, we love this restaurant and always include it when we visit Phoenix
My friend and I went to dinner at Lon's for a get-together and talk. The noise level was appropriate, so we had no trouble hearing each other. The food was marvelous; I had lobster with mashed potatoes and she had chicken with all the trimmings. Plus, our waiter could not have been better! One appetizer that I would not recommend is the west coast oysters ... they were about the size of a nickel (with pretty toppings). I sent it back due to size and cost. Otherwise, we were very happy with the experience.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. We had a lovely evening and enjoyed being able to dine al fresco, in January. He had the ribeye and I had the scallops, both cooked perfectly. Although, a little pr$cey, we would recommend for any special occasion.
Outstanding service and personable staff! Wonderful evening!!!
Great place! Always take friends from out of town
Spectacular dining experience, knowledgeable sommelier and great quality food.
Both the filet mignon and truffle macaroni and cheese are superb! The wine list is enormous and all areas are well represented. Delicious and great service.
Last 2 times I’ve gone for brunch the service has been painfully slow. And no one ever checked in to make sure we liked our food.
My friend and I ordered the Croque Madame and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Neither were worth writing about. Best to stick to the egg Benedict I guess.
Lon’s is the perfect brunch location. Sitting outside surrounded by flowers under beautiful shade trees is so relaxing. They offer great cocktails, and amazing selection of 5 star foods, and excellent service. Can’t wait to return!
I was greeted warmly by the host and hostess upon arrival. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive but was a bit over the top pushing alcohol. I chose the local omelette which wasn’t that great. The eggs were over cooked and I really thought the goat cheese would have been creamy and oozing out from inside the omelette rather than the barely there sprinkle on top. Potatoes were bland and the noble bread it comes with was far from generous. Definitely not worth $14 bucks, more like $3.99 diner special. On the plus side, my friend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and those were excellent.
Everything about our brunch was top notch, especially the food. Our server, Angela, really helped with decisions...and all of her suggestions were great. Leave enough room for the dessert churro!
Outstanding in every way
Dining at Lon’s is always a wonderful experience. From the minute we arrived we were treated like family.
I have been to many wonderful restaurants in my travels and near our home but Lons at the Hermosa Inn ranks in my top ten currently. It was such a special way to end our week in the Phoenix area and I would return to Arizona just to dine here again. The ambiance, good and service were wonderful.
Arrived 45 minutes ahead of my reservation, checked in, went to the bar for a drink before dinner. An hour later went the the hostess to find out why we had not been contacted. We were told no one was leaving - so no table available. We waited another 30 minutes for our table, so 45 minutes after our reservation time we had our table. Had to make multiple requests for things from our waiter. By the time we had our meal most everyone from the patio area was gone. When our food arrived the heaters had run out of propane. We had to ask if they could bring another heater or do something about the fact we were really cold at our table with no working heater.
I’ve had nice experiences every time in the past. This time it was far less than what LON’s is capable of. Honestly, I will consider other comparable restaurants first before I give LON’s another try.
Great meal and Andrew made it even more special, learned a lot of history about Lon’s, outstanding food
Dinner was fabulous. Server was great. There seems to be an issue with the kitchen timing the meal. Last time we were there we had to wait 30 minutes for simple deserts. This time there was a long wait for the first course. Regardless, still go and enjoy the ambiance and the food
Lon's is such a beautiful setting and delightful food. The staff was personable, helpful and understanding of food sensitivities. Would definitely recommend for a leisurely brunch or a special celebration.
always a beautiful setting out on the patio near the fireplace, with lights in the trees and portable heaters. Food was delicious as usual--thanks!
Have been here 3x now and we are from out of town - the best restaurant in Scottsdale. The salmon was fresh and perfectly prepared as was my lemon drop martini! Beautiful outdoor seating
Ambiance, food and service were all 5 stars. Pricing was excellent for quality and quantity of food. I would go here over Ruth's Chris, and the prices were 40 - 50% less. Very nice place.
They seated us exactly where I asked in advance. The waiter was exceptional. He addressed us but did not get in our way of the evening. Food was fabulous and I love the atmosphere.
Brought a friend for lunch to introduce her to Lon’s. It was, as always a lovely experience. Excellent food, superb service and the ambiance is perfect to just sit and talk.
Beautiful place for a Sunday brunch. Food and service are excellent.
This was our second visit to Lon’s. The experience just keeps getting better. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and the staff at Lon’s made it extra special for us. Of course we will be back!
Anniversary dinner, service was outstanding. Food was great, unforgettable experience. They treated us especially well for our special day.. no spoilers..thank you !
Had a lovely romantic dinner at Lon’s. Food and service were wonderful. Pricey as is often the case at a resort but a great evening.
Atmosphere is the best. Waitress was great. Food was amazing.
Excellent restaurant! We loved it and recommend it
While I would recommend the restaurant, because the food is amazing. At least in our experience, the service was mediocre at best. We had such high hopes, but our server was absent for long periods of time. At one point we had not seen him in 20 minutes. We had to ask for a check, my husband’s meal was supposed to come with dessert, but since we waited so long in between the meal and our waiter returning we left without it. For $250, I expected better.
“Worst meal ever“. We ordered black bass and lobster. It was so heavily salted and fishy tasting we couldn’t eat it. Coffee was on drinkable. Waiter’s response on advising him was to argue with us. Never go back! That’s it
Excellent place to visit with special friends . Great setting with good food and attentive service.
New Year’s Day:
Service was friendly but started off slow... almost started to think we were invisible. Staff apologized profusely.
One meal was only warm, not hot. We didn’t mention it.
Decaf coffee was old and cold. A fresh pot was happily brewed once it was pointed out.
We love Lon’s, and allow for an “off day”.
Always a great dining experience. Chef Jeremy does an outstanding job and his entire staff deserve commendations!
Set menu selections were poor. Taste and quality was even worse.
Expectations for a quality New Years Eve menu were high but was very disappointed with the offerings. Not what I expected from Lon’s. Have always had an exceptional meals on prior visits. Unfortunately this visit did not meet expectations.
