Lon's at The Hermosa
Beautiful, relaxing and delicious restaurant. We loved Lon's and will return when we are in the area.
The sommelier brought a bottle of wine to our table. We instead ordered a bottle of champagne. Unbenounced to us, our daughter had ordered and paid for the wine.
If the sommelier had made us aware we would have saved the wine for after dinner.
As it happened Lon’s charged our daughter for the champagne.
You cannot beat Lon’s at the Hermosa Inn for Sunday brunch...nice menu, delicious food, attentive service and the patio surrounded by mountains! All in all, terrific.
This is the 3rd time that I have taken guests to Lon’s. They absolutely loved the courtyard and ambiance...for sure a 5/5. The food on the other hand was a great disappointment. The eggs Benedict with lobster was tasteless. The lemon pancakes were dry, no syrup. Disappointing
Delightful as usual!
We were very disappointed with the food. My entree was not what I ordered. I had to wait while everyone else ate their entree. My entree finally arrived and everyone else were nearly done with their meal. My steak was practically inedible - lots of fat and grizzle. Our friend sent his steak back because it was cold and all they did was re-fire it and it came out burned and inedible. Otherwise the breads were worth eating and the desert was yummy. This seemed like an off night all around for such an exclusive restaurant.
I moved to Arizona last September and Lon's was by far the best restaurant of all the ones I have visited. I am from NY, so I have had a lot of good steaks. The Tomahawk Steak at Lon's was the best I have had in many years. It was perfection!
It was very nice, my best dining experience in the Scottsdale area so far.
Terrific meal. Great service and atmosphere.
Still my very favorite! Great food and service .
Excellent , as always!
Great place for brunch! Fabulous food! Beautiful setting! Our waiter, Manny, tried four different heaters before one worked! Appreciate his diligence!
Brunch was delicious! Service was amazing! Highly recommend monkey bread!
Foood was bland.Oyster were tiny, tiny, tiny. Desserts were less than average. Disappointing as Lon’s has always been a favorite. Patio was wonderful.
Our "go to" for a memorable, romantic, celebratory evening and when friends or family are visiting. BEST time for Patio Dining - March or October.
Lon's outdoor dining provides the perfect ambiance for a long, leisurely lunch with friends. The food, service, and atmosphere are a perfect blend for a lovely Southwest spring afternoon.
Wonderful dinner on the patio with friends. Loved the ahi appetizer and short ribs. Great service from Ryan - prompt but not hovering. We will definitely be back!
The service and ambiance were excellent, and for that reason alone we will back. The oysters were so small as to be better served on a teaspoon. Our server informed that the oysters came in 6 on the other side of the menu (mine were 4) as if that would make a difference. The halibut was a touch too well done but the accompanying tastes were superb.
Hoping that our selections next time will amount to 5 stars.
Sam and Jacqui
PS Jacqui says thanks for the birthday surprise :)
Food and service was great. Brett early took good care of us and Travis was great.
Perfection, as always!
Always great service, hospitality, ambiance, and food. Relaxed not hurried.
Dinner with out of town friends
Out-of-town guests joined us for perfect weather & the quintessential southwestern dining ambiance. The tacos were amazing and the dessert - shared churros with ice cream, strawberries & creamy chocolate dip - is a definite repeat! Unfortunately the hostess and one waiter were aloof, however our server, Nick, & our busboy were delightful.
Beautiful outdoor patio. Great wine list. Wonderful food.
It was very nice, a tad loud but service was great as was the food
Beautiful evening and the food was elegant. A much improved Lons since my last visit a year ago.
I love Lon’’s Sunday brunch. Fantastic food imaginative menu and beautiful grounds. I was quite disappointed in the service. Tardy, not very attentive and things were added to our check that did not belong there. I will give the restaurant another chance because I love it so, but service needs to improve.
lon's is one of my very favorite restaurants.I love the gorgeous landscaping.
The atmosphere for for Sunday brunch couldn't have been more lovely on the patio. The service was excellent. The food was not anything special. 2 of us ordered the lemon pancakes and 2 ordered variations of eggs benedict. None of us were impressed with our meals. Perhaps the dinner menu might be more satisfying.
My college roommate was here from Philadelphia, and I treated her to brunch. It was spectacular! Would recommend taking anyone for any occasion here to Lon’s
Excellent service and beautiful atmosphere for Sunday brunch. The thick cut bacon appetizer was good, but had way too much fat to eat around. The lobster Benedict was made with small pieces of lightly fried lobster (while it was tasty, this should be noted specifically on the menu) no English muffin or bread, served with yummy roasted potatoes. The dish was served lukewarm. Come for the atmosphere, not for the food.
We had an excellent evening. The ambiance was excellent. We sat indoors next to a fireplace and had good suggestions for food and drink The duck was OUTSTANDING; I will get that again next time I eat there. We definitely will go back.
I was disappointed with the food. Salad was ok, but only one lettuce despite the menu statement. Dressing was ordinary. My steak was chewy for wagyu, but properly cooked and flavorful. The accompanying mushroom was inedible and could have been used as a hammer! The Brussel's sprouts were sweet enough for the dessert menu. My wife's fish was overcooked and dry. My brother's pork chop was done well - so the fire grilled meat was quite good. My sister-in-law's fish was good. Dessert was very good, but what could go wrong with chocolate and ice cream?
The service, both setting up the birthday dinner from the east coast, the valet, the hostess and the waitstaff were top notch.
I'm not sure about recommendations.
Wonderful ambiance and the patio is a must in good weather. The food was delicious as a bonus to the superb western ranch feeling with live music in the background. A relaxing way to end a Scottsdale vacation.
Overall it was a great experience and the service was great. I had a dirty plate and fork, so that was disappointing. He place is beautiful and quite. I plan to go again.
Dinner was excellent. Our server Brett was knowledgeable and provided good guidance on the tasting menu(good value ).The patio on a warm March evening is what snowbirds yearn for from the north.
Not only will I recommend this place, but I will be back here on my next visit AND stay at the hotel. Superb!
Food was great. Brussel sprouts were amazing. Mac n cheese was fantastic. Unfortunately our server barely came by to check on us. Had to ask two other servers to refill our drinks.
