Serving visitors since 1976, Longhi's Ala Moana in Honolulu, HI offers three meals daily and is considered an island institution. Noted for its fun atmosphere and delicious foods, it is also a good spot for wine enthusiasts as it is an award-winning "wine by the glass" site.
The menu choices for Longhi's Ala Moana range from hearty and satisfying breakfast options like fruit, pastries, egg creations and over the top sweets. The lunch and dinner menu are the same "all day" lists and include appetizers like the signature artichoke or the ceviche. There are fresh salads and lots of fresh seafood. Sandwiches are in abundance on the Longhi's Ala Moana menu as well as pasta and vegetarian favorites. Don't miss the desserts.
Just too sad that Longhi's closed now.
It's a bummer that we finally ate there for dinner and then found out the next day they had closed permanently. Good thing we went. The food was really good. We all loved our food. Yes it was a little warm and no view but we'll try the one at Ko'olina & see if it'll be the same food with a better atmosphere.
Very sad to discover that the wonderful jalapeño and cheese bread that we usually open with is no longer offered. And most disappointing is that our lovely peaceful view is gone as well. Instead of a beautiful ocean sunset we have the interior of a massive construction site. Fewer people in the restaurant so it is much quieter.
But the food our meals and drinks were excellent but the spiciness of the mussels surprised me.
Sad to see that spectacular view disappear behind the up-coming condos. But the food and service has not disappeared.
We always enjoy going to Longhi's . We're just very sorry it has lost its view. That is the only reason I can't give uniform excellents.
I have eaten at this restaurant many times and unfortunately it has taken a DRASTIC turn for the worst. I predict that it will either be closed or bought out by someone within 6 months. What used to be a restaurant with a beautiful view, great food and reasonable pricing has turned into food that is double the price, looking at a parking garage, and wait staff that doesn't know the new menu. I will NEVER go here again...I am sad to say. This will become the future of many places with a view, if air rights aren't imposed sooner or later here in Hawai'i. If you want to pay the high price of food, I'd recommend taking the plunge and just going to Morton's...which this place really can't compete with.
My husband enjoyed the drug and turf. It's hard to find steamed Maine lobster and he said this one was very good. He plans to return and get the 3# Maine lobster next time. Just steamed. It wasn't on the menu but is on their website menu and our server said it can be ordered. I had the chicken piccata over angel hair. Very good. Had to order angel hair as a separate side dish. If I had just the chicken, it would have been a sad lonely entree as nothing else comes with the one large chicken breast, so I'm glad I ordered the pasta. Their Belgian endive with gorgonzola cheese appetizer is excellent! Topped with caramel Mac nuts and honey-scallion mint vinaigrette. I could have three of these for a main entree. So good! No room for desserts this time. We'll return to try other dishes and the Belgian endive of course!
Major disappointment. I have eaten there many times before and was always very good. This time the food was terrible and the service was worst. Lobster was way over cooked, the crab stuffing had no crab. I mentioned it to the waiter and he just acknowledge I was not the first person to complain, but did nothing about it. The resturant has lost its great view due to construction but that's no reason to throw in the towel on everything else.
It's a shame to see that they're building condos right in front of this restaurant blocking the ocean view and the lovely breeze that used to be here. It has definitely affected the restaurant in a negative way. There were only about five tables of customers there at 11:30 AM during what should be prime time Sunday brunch. I'm happy that Longhi's opened a second location at Ko olina and will give the restaurant a try. I will definitely not be back to this location though. 😢
easy to find. But quality of food not as good as expected. View was completely blocked by new construction
Building works now across from main view are loud noise and dust
Food was bland not same quality we experienced say 12 months ago
Was surprised that the view of the beach is no longer seen due to another building going up. Parking was horrendous as beach goers continue to park using the mall. After the fireworks was done everyone tried to leave all at once creating a grid lock for serveral hours with cars honking their horns the time when we where trying to have our dinner. It's not the restaurants fault but Ala Moana should be doing something about this.
Always understaffed during breakfast hours, often taking more than 30 minutes to get a cup of coffee or water refills. Longhi's simply need to add more servers and cooks to provide more dining experiences for locals...it's a few times already this year that I have experienced extremely slow food and berate service!
Everyone raves about the views but come to find out on arrival that the once celebrated views of the beach are now completely blocked by construction. Our table overlooked a parking lot and the back of a building. It was pretty terrible.
Used to have good scenery, but big constructions cut off great Alamoana beach view....
As always, food was good but overpriced, $50 for breakfast for two. If I had remembered about the noisy construction and no view any longer, we would have gone somewhere else. Longhi's was always too expensive for every day meals, but now we won't be going at all.
I can't really rate the restaurant. I made my reservation on Open Table, called the restaurant to say our Lyft driver was having trouble finding it and we'd be 15 min late. Got to the restaurant and they would not send down the elevator to admit us, because they had CLOSED for the night before I'd even made my reservation, and told me that the Open Table reservation should not have gone through.
service was bad, food was inconsistent and it was embarrassing to take my family there for my birthday and the experience was just mediocre..nothing like past meals we've had there. will not be going back or recommending to anyone. the waitress forgot to come back with drinks, my mother's food was half the size of my brother in law but they ordered the same thing, the kitchen forgot to cook the meal as requested by my sister and for my birthday cake they just put a piece of pie down and said enjoy. After we ordered coffee it took forever to even get a refill and the one person who asked for a refill it never came. We had a party of 6 and it was just a horrible experience.
I chose Longhi's because everything was great two years ago.
This time, We were so disappointed.
Food wasn't good, and service was not either.
We went for Father's Day brunch only to find out there was no brunch that day. We were disappointed. We ordered lunch.
What once was a beautiful view of Ala Moana Beach, is now an ugly parking structure completely blocking any view. Although the food was okay, it was extremely overpriced for what you received. When you order a sandwich, that is all you received (at almost the same price as a pasta plate). No fries or side with the sandwich. The others at the table had rather small portions and left hungry. They did say that it was good, just not enough of it.
I was very excited to eat at Longhi's for the very first time. And to celebrate Father's Day with my boyfriend. Food took over 45 minutes to arrive, and was cold when we got it. We just ate and left because we didn't want to waste any more time than we already had.
Will not ever return unfortunately.
We celebrated my friend's Birthday at Longhi's because that's where she wanted to go. I made our reservations through Open Table as usual and also noted with the reservation that we were celebrating a Birthday. The service was so bad and the food was mediocre. I never had to ask a waiter to remove the plates from the table before. We had to constantly flag him down for things he should have handled automatically. This was my first and LAST time I'll ever go to Longhi's. I was always under the impression that this was an upscale restaurant and it was a rude awakening.
Belgian endive my favorite!
We were disappointed that the view of Ala Moana was gone and now only looking at other buildings. Food was still good but portions were smaller.
Still love the delicious food and attentive service. Disappointed the gorgeous view is blocked by new construction!
We've eaten there often and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. The food and service is still excellent, the only draw back now is that they've lost their amazing view. Don't know if they're going to lose business because of that but we'll still keep going there.
They had a This restaurant on Maui and that was the first time I went there and for breakfast I got the lobster eggs Benedict it was absolutely fabulous I highly recommend the lobster Benedict It seems a little pricey but when you receive it you won't be disappointed i've eaten there also for dinner twice dinner seems a little too pricey and the portion size is a little small for what you're paying so I would definitely stick to the breakfast there
Construction at Ala Moana takes from the view the restaurant used to have, but breakfast was amazing. We had the lobster benedict & crispy waffle. The waffle was delicious! Great breakfast & peaceful atmosphere.
We enjoyed our lunch on Sunday. We were seated promptly, the server was very good and our food was very tasty. Our disappointment was in how run down it looks. We understand the view is gone and that is no fault of the restaurant but the fans had not been cleaned in awhile and the furniture just looks beat up. Perhaps the construction is some of the cause but if you are going to continue to operate and charge the prices (of which we have no complaint) you do then hire extra cleaning help, etc.
