Longfellows Restaurant & Hotel Ratings and Reviews
We were disappointed with parts of our meal my husbands meat was cold and his baked potato was hard Our diet cokes were flat and tasteless and the dinner rolls were stale. We certainly did not get the level of dining for the cost per meals Our waiter, Brad was pleasant and accommodating.
On the positive side, my chicken was good as was the coffee and desserts.
I’m sorry to be writing this but I’m sure you’d like to know to improve your quality rather than not be aware. Thank you
Best bruschetta. We requested fireplace (by bar) ... not knowing that there was one in the basement area.- which is where we were seated. Fireplace was great ... but it definitely feels like you are in a basement there. Great waiter ... young guy with glasses - do not remember his name
Last minute get away to Saratoga, so many
the resturants were booked due to it being New Year’s Eve. I went onto yelp to see what may be available. I hadn’t been to longfellows in awhile so we decided to give it another try. We were seated right away. However we sat there for 15 minutes before
someone approached us with a menus and took our drink order, and waited another 20 minutes for our waitress to return. Things just got progressively worse after that. All in all it was the worst dining experience. Would never recommend Longfellows.
My Girlfriend and I went to Longfellows for the first time. We will be back!!! The service was outstanding , the food was awesome and the ambiance was awesome. We had a table by the fireplace. It was an awesome experience. Our waiter was amazing as she wanted to try a glass of wine and not knowing what she wanted, he had plenty of suggestions .
Thank you Longfellows for making her birthday a great night!!!!!!
My wife and I had a lovely anniversary dinner. The food and wine were great and Sara, our server, was outstanding!! We had requested a table by the fireplace, which we got. we have been here on several occasions and have always been pleased with our visits. we will be returning soon.
My wife and I try to take time for ourselves and go on date nights when ever we can. We have friends who come to Longfellows all the rime and recommend it highly. We understand completely now. The food was exceptional. I had the Black and Blue Filet and it was awesome. I can not recommend it more for any occasion.
Great food and ambiance!
love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Great place. We really enjoy the ambiance. We sat by the fireplace and it made it toasty on a cold evening. The food is great and the service was very good, but not quite as good as the last time we visited. I highly recommend Longfellow's for a romantic dinner for two.
This was a Birthday dinner date for my husbands 32nd birthday.
We walked in and the fire smell instant caught out attention and we were able to sit right next to the fire which was very nice. We enjoy camping and sitting by fire. The waiter Kenan was very friendly and attentive to our needs. My husband ordered a blue steak and i ordered the rosemary steak on the special list. Mine was rare and I think it was delicious. However My husbands steak which he ordered as medium came our too charred to the point the ouster layer was crunch with the black burnt spots. He refused to send it back and scrapped it off and ate some of mine. Maybe it was the glazing on it? I'm don't know. But over all it was a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed the place, the fire, the waiter and everything else. He even offered a dessert to celebrate his birthday but we declined because we were full and not much of a dessert couple. We will return again sometime soon.
We had not been to Longfellows in quite some time and forgot how great that place is. We had a wonderful time...great atmosphere, greta service and the food was out of this world. Longfellows is definitely a hidden gem in Saratoga. We will definitely make sure that we get there more often.
Special trip up to Saratoga, and we wanted an excellent meal and service, you delivered in spades! Our server Nick, was very attentive and quick with drink and meal suggestions. We lingered as long as we could, thanks for making our dining experience special!
What a disaster!!!
As a "thank you" my wife and I wanted to take friends out to a nice dinner. The choice of restaurants could not have been worse.
Upon entering the table we were shown to had flies all over it, and we were moved to a different table. Then entire downstairs was very cold as the heat had just been turned on.
The food was fair, pre-prepared from Sysco or a similar company.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
My husband and I come here frequently on our wedding anniversary. The food and the service is always stellar! I love the special attention we are given when they know we are celebrating our anniversary, they certainly make it special. You never feel rushed, everything is timed perfectly. I would highly recommend Longfellows to anyone looking for an excellent meal and amazing ambiance.
My husband and I have been to Longfellows on a few dinner dates. The food is great, however, sitting downstairs is not very cozy for a party of two and it's a bit noisy. Upstairs has a better ambiance. In the past we have ordered the barn stuffed mushrooms and they are usually delicious but this time they were not very warm and tasted different. I ordered a filet served on top of a crab cake and my husband ordered his usual prime rib. Both entries were delicious. Although this isn't a quiet, super romantic restaurant, it has a lovely rustic feel and overall good food.
Our dinner was for an anniversary and hoped for a nice romantic dinner. Unfortunately there was a wedding reception in an adjacent room that was open to our dining area so every dance song and DJ one-liner was intruding on our conversation.
Host and wait staff were fantastic.
Dinner was good but when our meals arrived it was obvious why the surf and turf was priced so modestly at about $35. The lobster tail was very small. I'd gladly pay more for a larger tail.
Overall it was ok but not what I hoped for on a special occasion.
The quality of the food ranged from very good to excellent. The server knew the items on the menu very well and gave good descriptions of both the food and the cocktails we ordered. the overall experience was excellent and would consider returning for another fine evening.
The meals are good home cooking style dishes, nothing outstanding but solid and the prices are extremely fair so you can feel comfortable taking out an entire family. BUT make sure you call in advance to ensure there is not a special occasion or wedding that night. On our night there was a wedding with live music so it was rather difficult to talk at dinner. Also, make sure you ask for a table upstairs, we were in the basement part and while cozy is not as nice as the upstairs parts. Service was very attentive and fast.
