Chef Tim Love’s flagship restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro first opened in 2000, in Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards District, and quickly became the city’s premiere dining establishment. Love has designed a menu influenced by all of the ingredients and cultures that have been a part of the West since the first adventure began on the Goodnight-Loving and Chisholm Trails — with an added level of modern sophistication. Love’s food at Lonesome Dove reflects his famously unique “Urban Western” cuisine, celebrating his creative uses of bold flavors and wild game, with an inventive selection of steaks and seafood to dishes such as Wagyu Tomahawk, Kangaroo Carpaccio, Rocky Mountain Elk Ribeye, Wild Boar Ribs, and Rabbit & Rattlesnake Sausage. The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro has received numerous awards and critical acclaim from Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Zagat Survey, Southern Living, Esquire, The New York Times, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Dallas Morning News, and more.

Dinner was actually a wonderful and unexpected treat from Cynthia for my husband and I --- our first time to Lonesome Dove and a perfect date night! The service was superb and the food was way beyond our expectations. We "saved" room for dessert, the Warm Ancho Chile Chocolate Cake, and it was so worth it! We now have a new "anniversary destination" . . . or whenever!

Our favorite dining spot in Ft Worth! Never a disappointment. Their specialty steak is highly recommended. Excellent wine list and service. Has that Old West ambiance and character with the most modern touches. Excellent for intimate dining or larger parties, including weddings. Really enjoy relaxing outside after a delicious dinner experience. Needless to say, we are huge fans of The Lonesome Dove!

Excellent ambiance in a great part of town — Stockyards in Ft Worth. Pricey but good. Chefs in Cowboy hats was a hoot!

This was my 2nd time to Lonesome Dove, and it was quite different than my 1st. Our app was cold (boar ribs), my steak was overcooked, and our waiter never checked in to see how we were. I regret the $160 we spent for two, and will not be returning in the future.

I have loved this restaurant since the first time I had a meal there during a friends wedding. It is perfect for a birthday or anniversary dinner. The entire staff is so very friendly and knowledgeable. I will continue to eat here as long as it stays open.

Simply put -- superb. From cocktails to dessert, not one hiccup in our meals. We appreciated the kindness of the manager as well as the server's willingness to assemble sampler apps for our party. The main courses were wonderful. Nicely plated, served at just the right temps, and most importantly, absolutely delicious. If you are a meat eater, a particularly wonderful menu from which to choose. Powerfully recommend you enjoy Lonesome Dove.

It was our anniversary. They had a card at our table signed by the staff congratulating us! Several of the staff made a point to come to our table and also congratulate us! Service and food was top notch! It was a fantastic dining experience!

A friend recommended this restaurant, so I was looking forward to giving it a try.
My friend and I were seated outside, overlooking the small river--great view (best in the restaurant, we were told by many).
Our server was wonderful until we were almost ready to order and we said we wanted to share an entree. After that, he went MIA. Thank goodness, the other team of servers pitched in and were very attentive.
The wine pour was small. The salad recommended by our original server was mediocre. The garlic steak that we split was good, but the accompanying veggie was unimpressive. The side of brussels sprouts was OK, but everything was overpriced, we felt.

Both the service and the ambiance were great. There were five of us as three were visitors from the UK (Wales). Drinks were excellent, especially their crafted cocktails. Members of the party had the Boar Ribs and the lobster hushpuppies as appetizers. For dinner 2 had the red fish in paper, 2 had the pork belly on a sugar cane stick, and one had the buffalo ribeye. The only very minor complaint was that the lobster hush puppies recipe had either been changed or was prepared by a different chef. My wife has had them several times at Lonesome Dove and she really didn't feel these were up to par but they weren't bad, just not as good as the lobster hushpuppies she had there previous times. Other than that all the food was outstanding. Desserts were also very good. This is really a fun place to go with really good food and I can recommend it.

Excellent filets and adventurous appetizers. We had lamb lollipops, ribs, and hush puppies. The Lonesome Dove will do appetizer pricing per person so everyone got to try each item.

We had 4 college students who absolutely loved the wonderful food. We had mushrooms and mashed potatoes as sides. Great menu and superb dining!

We ate on the patio and it was very peaceful. Our customers from the Midwest thoroughly enjoyed the food especially the elk sliders for our appetizer.

Perfect place to take customers.

LD Bistro has a great atmosphere and the waitstaff is top notch. Every bite of my food was excellent, however I was not thrilled with the portion to price ratio. $15 for 2 nachos seems a bit silly and the $15 Charlie Daniels juat tasted like whiskey and water. The desserts are the best value there and were very good.

We loved Lonesome Dove! The food was excellent and the table in the back room near the window was lovely! I recommend their signature garlic stuffed tenderloin!! This restaurant is very pricey, so I would only go on a special occasion, but we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Loved this cozy and elegant spot in the midst of a crazy weekend at the Stockyards. Great craft cocktails, especially the refreshing grapefruit Texas Jewel and the Stockyard Smoker, a cherry-smoked take on an Old Fashioned. Spendy, but worth it for a special occasion.

Fantastic dining experience! Great food and great service. The shaved vegetable salad was one of the bests salads I've ever had, anywhere. We were skeptical based on some poor experiences at several other restaurants in the area, but fortunately we were pleasantly surprised. Good stuff.

The food was excellent. They customize the appetizers for the number in your group so you can try one of each if you like. Had tenderloin and trout. Both dishes were amazing. My husbands favorite was the fried spinach. Unique and delicious. Would eat here again for sure.

My wife and I went here for her birthday and it was amazing! From the appetizers (lobster hush puppies & grilled shrimp) to the second course (butter lettuce salad & chili) to the main course (roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin & elk loin), everything was well thought out and delicious. We also enjoyed the Stockyard Smoker and some nice wine on the patio for a beautiful Texas evening. We would highly recommend this place for anyone near the Fort Worth area. I would say this is our new favorite!

We had an amazing time at Lonesome Dove for my husband's birthday. We got to sit out on the new patio and the weather was perfect with a quaint fire below the patio. The wait staff were amazing and they all filled in for each other since it was a very busy night. I would've thought that the many different hands helping out would lead to a disjointed experience but it was the complete opposite. We had all of the wait staff looking out for our drinks, our meal, and our overall experience. It was clear that they all enjoy working there and that they love their jobs. The food was to die for and it's so nice to go to a place that focuses just as much on customer service as they do their food.

Steak was cooked perfectly, very tender and true to portion menu selection...9oz. However, no distinct flavor, kind if plain Jane. Wife’s snapper was excellent. Sharp, distinguished flavor. Fried spinach was marginal. Pom frittes were very good, but not very tart...needed a little more salt. It seemed food and drinks were a little pricey. Would expect to pay in the $125 (including 20% tip) range for two people, but instead spent $155. Overall experience was good, but a long way from great.
