Chef Tim Love’s flagship restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro first opened in 2000, in Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards District, and quickly became the city’s premiere dining establishment. Love has designed a menu influenced by all of the ingredients and cultures that have been a part of the West since the first adventure began on the Goodnight-Loving and Chisholm Trails — with an added level of modern sophistication. Love’s food at Lonesome Dove reflects his famously unique “Urban Western” cuisine, celebrating his creative uses of bold flavors and wild game, with an inventive selection of steaks and seafood to dishes such as Wagyu Tomahawk, Kangaroo Carpaccio, Rocky Mountain Elk Ribeye, Wild Boar Ribs, and Rabbit & Rattlesnake Sausage. The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro has received numerous awards and critical acclaim from Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Zagat Survey, Southern Living, Esquire, The New York Times, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Dallas Morning News, and more.

We had a great experience for our first dinner here. We splurged and ordered all four courses and each was quite delicious. Our server, Hillary, was excellent too. Our only negative comment is the noise level but I'm not sure how that could be addressed. A minor inconvenience in the big picture.

We thoroughly enjoyed our belated Valentine's dinner at Lonesome Dove. We ordered a little of everything: cocktails, an appetizer sampler, a salad, traditional Texas chili, the signature garlic stuffed tenderloin, new york strip, brussel sprouts, and the ancho chili cake. The entire meal and service was FANTASTIC, and I would order everything again, except the brussel sprouts - they were uninspiring and almost soggy.

We were really excited to try this place - we drove all the way from McKinney for a late Valentine’s Day celebration. We were both disappointed. It was not at all worth the price we paid. We got the worst table in the house - had to yell to hear each other. Our waiter did the best with what he could, he was just spread too thin. My fiancée ordered a ribeye medium well and it was brought out still bloody. Like dark red inside. Had to send it back. My potatoes, while perfectly cooked outside, were still hard and mostly uncooked inside. In general, the food was just okay - we could have gotten the same quality at Texas Roadhouse a quarter mile down the road. For a quarter the price. We won’t be back.

We select a different restaurant every year for a romance Valentine dinner. This year it was Lonesome Dove. This was a very nice restaurant. The atmosphere was perfect. The service was really great. Drink glasses were well maintained. The server was very knowledge of the menu and the daily special. The food was very tasteful. The meat was tender and was cooked to our request. Even with two large groups the room was quiet. We'll be back again.

Could not have been better. Not cheap but delicious. Much tastier than Del Frisco’s or Capital Grille. This was our first time but we will be back!

Went for Valentine's Day. Only serving special vday menu which was fine but wasn't told ahead of time and the options weren't great. Food was average at best. Service was fine. Spent over 300 dollars and wasn't impressed at all. Will not return. Too many great options in town

if you want to have a really good meal and a real Fort Worth Stockyards experience, this is the place. The food is really fantastic and the atmosphere is pure western. The option to share 3 different appetizers is a must as it was really hard to choose. The pork lollipops were awesome and the rabbit and rattlesnake sausage pretty fantastic. Everything arrived at the right time, the staff was just right too. We didn't have room for desert, but it looked great too.

Nice location in the heart of the stockyards. Gorgeous, intimate atmosphere but I expected better food. Elk sliders are a lot of bread (though the bread is made in house), the grilled chicken salad was rather bland. The table bread was mediocre. The hostess was on the phone and did not acknowledge us on entry with a smile not a wave. A waitress sat us and she was very polite and enjoyable. My friend and I split the check and though we both signed our receipts for half the check, my bank shows I was charged the full amount. If you’re a fan of Tim Love, I recommend The Woodshed over this establishment.

The food was excellent!! The wait for dessert was quite long. The server would fill the water glasses often but never ask if need more ice tea. Over all the dinner was very enjoyable.

Top notch food, service, atmosphere. It truly doesn’t get any better than that! The wait staff is friendly but never too chatty and they make you feel like you’re their focus no matter how busy they are. And the food...the most delicious no matter what you order. We’ll be back!

The Western ambiance was excellent. The food was very good. It took a very long time for the waiter to bring the food and even longer for the drinks. Steak price was good considering the very good quality. The salad and grilled asparagus were overpriced.

The steaks are always great, however this time around the lamb chop appetizers were especially outstanding. The wine list is one of the best in DFW. There is truly a price point for everyone. We look forward to our next visit.

We enjoyed Lonesome Dove overall. The only disappointment was that they ran out of the salad option by 8:00, which we had both looked forward to. Instead, we opted for the shrimp appetizer, and honestly, for the price, it was extremely disappointing. I would never order that again -- four shrimp for about $16-17.00 or something ridiculous.

But yes, overall, we'll go back, and enjoyed it very much.
