Delightful restaurant. Our server was extremely sensitive to my daughter's gluten allergy and went above and beyond in thoughtfulness.
Excellent Service food and atmosphere
We had a great time celebrating my husbands birthday!! We tried lots of the small plate appetizers. The lobster hush puppies were our favorite. The ancho chocolate cake was to die for!
Great restaurant - with the location being in the Stockyards and being branded as a 'Western bistro', it's a perfect fit for the great city of Fort Worth. The menu is small but that seems to allow them to executive everything flawlessly. The only pro-tip ois that they will offer a bottled water to start, it is NOT free. It's 'Love' brand water (named after the owner) and they charge for it and you do not find out until you get your bill.
Nonetheless, it was great altogether, I'll just a get a sweet tea next time :-)
The waiter made up for just about the whole meal, but it got off to a bad start and didn’t get any better until he volunteered to comp some of our food and drink because he knew it had been a rough outing. We had to tell him what we wanted to drink, and then he left without getting my wife’s drink order. Two of us ordered steaks and they were severely undercooked and when we sent them back, they returned still undercooked. We said the heck with it and ate them regardless. Again the waiter made up for everything with the offer, so all is OK.
We have never been disappointed while dining at Lonesome Dove!
Food was delicious great menu. Will definitely be back to try dishes our server recommended.
The Elk Sliders are to die for. The ambiance is amazing, and service is always top notch. Love love love!
Awesome food and environment. Sooooo good.
Great service and atmosphere! Love this restaurant.
Absolutely wonderful. The food and service were both amazing.
Wilson took such wonderful care of us! We have always loved this place and after a year away due to the virus, we were delighted to be back. Food was fantastic.
The food and the service were outstanding. Since it was a special occasion we had the Wagyu steak for 2 and it was still more than we could eat. And the chocolate ancho cake is indescribably delicious. Will definitely go back.
Not our best experience at Lonesome Dove. Steaks were not at their best. Sides came out Luke warm. Appetizers were a disappointment this time. Tables tab was over $600 & just did not get the food quality that price point deserves. Service however was very good & friendly.
This was our first time here, and it was fantastic!
This was the best dining experience we've had in a while with some of the most memorable dishes ever. I love the way they do the starters tapas style so you can try a bite of a few different things and not have to commit to just one. We had the rabbit rattlesnake pasta, elk sliders and lobster hush puppies. All were amazing. For the main course I had the elk tenderloin. The mushrooms and greens that accompanied it were just as wonderful as the elk itself. The only things we didn't really enjoy were the 2 cocktails but that could just be a matter of personal taste. I had the willy which is something between a smoked old fashioned and a manhattan, I found it so smoky and funky that it tasted more like mezcal and not whiskey.
Lastly our wait staff was great, the social distancing and check in protocols were followed well, and the atmosphere of the old steakhouse in the stockyards is perfect!
We always enjoy our time here. Our server was awesome for us, and didn’t rush us out in the least.
Awesomely unique menu. Nice atmosphere. Great drinks. Superb service.
Amazing experience overall. The elk was phenomenal and the service was perfect! Already recommended it to family and would definitely return.
Outstanding restaurant. Excellent all the way around.
Food and location was good but for what you spend, our food came out cold to lukewarm. Steak should of been hot. Last time we ate there, steak was cold too when it was served.
One of the top 5 best meals I have ever had. The elk loin was cook perfectly, the candied grapes were amazing (I don't really care for grapes but ate them all). My wife's garlic stuffed beef loin was incredible, the garlic was present but not overpowering, just right. Our friends chicken fried steak, should just be called fried amazing. I always think of chicken fried steak as a dinner food, this was elevated to a whole new level. Last but not least, the Texas Red Chili stole the show and is easily the best bowl of chili I have ever had. Our server was super attentive, and helped us order. He especially helped in portions as the sides are family style and he prevented us from ordering too much food. At the end of the night we happily paid the bill and felt like we had gotten a bargain. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Ft. Worth.
The elk loin and rabbit Raghu were phenomenal. The crispy chicken thighs were not good. Appetizers are all outstanding.
Food was awesome, loved the experience and the waitress did a great job
Excellent food and service and you have to keep in mind that wild game and high end cuts of meat are not cheap. Every item we ate from appetizers, main course to the dessert were excellent.
We chose Lonesome Dove to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and I would definitely go there again. Food and service were fantastic!
In looking for a steakhouse, we chose the Lonesome Dove because it seemed as if it was quality over quantity, based on the menu offerings. We were not disappointed. The appetizers were tapas portions, perfect for saving room for the main course. The rattlesnake sausage and kangaroo carpaccio was a delicious adventure. For the main course we had the garlic infused tenderloin and the Buffalo rib eye. The meal was wonderful, with a side of wild mushrooms. Del Frisco or Capital Grill do not have anything on the Lonesome Dove. In fact the wild game options and creatively delicious combinations outperform the traditional steakhouses. Maybe next time we will go for a hand cut steak.
I highly recommend trying this restaurant.
It ain’t cheap but well worth it.
The food was incredibly flavorful but our Buffalo ribeye was the least tender steak I have ever purchased. Not what I expected from Lonesome Dove. The other items we ordered were excellent. What was hard to explain and understand was the service. Wait staff acted completely indifferent to the patrons. They weren’t necessarily rude they just seemed to not even care we were there. Not a great first impression and we probably will not be going back.
Excellent service and excellent food
Love the Dove.
Everything was great- food gets 4 out of 5 because there was no garlic in the garlic stuffed tenderloin we ordered. Otherwise all was a good experience
Excellent food and atmosphere.
Food and wait staff/manager were top notch! Hostess.... not so much.
Joe was a great waiter We Will asked for him next time
Great service, great food!
Great service, unflavored steak.
The checkin process on a busy Saturday isn’t ideal during a pandemic. I appreciate they require you to sign in, give contact information and take temperatures when you arrive; however, it causes a big bottleneck at the entrance and bar area with numerous people in close contact that are part of different parties and a lot not wearing a masks.
