Lone Eagle Grille
Overall ok experience - service was marginal; food good; i requested a wine - bar said they were out of it and waiter said "oh we have one more bottle" but brought me something different disguised as the wine I ordered.
Service was good, but the noise level was the worst we’ve ever experienced.. you could not communicate with friends or the waiters..stressful, not relaxing or enjoyable at all. Soup was great, Caesar had a vinegary dressing, halibut and ribs were good...not worth the cost... I’ve never reviewed before but the extremely uncomfortable experience (hectic, stressful, horribly loud) drove me to write this. Not a fine dining experience
We took our visitors to this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The food and wine were all delicious. We were seated at a window table with a lovely Lake Tahoe view. Everything was really expensive but well worth it.
Average and place too big to give personal comfort
Our pork belly needed some more cooking. It was very fatty. Our sandwiches were good albeit overpriced. Our waitress Deb and her helper (a very nice young man) were very attentive. The dining room was majestic.
Noisy, casual environment with 5 star prices. I’m sure the views near the windows were lovely and there is an atrium that might provide a quieter more intimate setting.
My salmon roulade was well prepared.
We should have taken the option of ordering off the restaurant menu in the bar area. It is quieter and has views.
We had a decent table this time.
You can't beat the location and view on Lake Tahoe. Also the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Service is great and the food is delicious.
Only one reason for the 4 stars and not 5 across the board. I made the reservation for 6:45 to see the sunset and I called and spoke to the manager to make sure I reserved a window seat. It was my wife's birthday and I wanted it to be very special.
We arrived on time and were told there were no window seats, but they'd get me one as soon as they could. With sunset approaching I again went to the hostess who said "who are you", although I had just spoken to her moments ago. I explained that I spoke to the manager days before and that it was my wife's birthday and she said "we don't guarantee window seats" but we could have a seat next to the fireplace (no view whatsoever) . Not only that, but there were 4 window seats available right at that moment. Was told again, "when we can, we are on the list". I, now angered asked to speak to the manager who got us seated in about 5 minutes, at about 7:10 with sun setting at 7pm, we didn't get to see it and my 6:45 window reservation was 25 minutes late.
The hostesses nonchalant, not caring, flippant, no-can-do attitude was at the very least irritating or more infuriating.
Bugged me all night though I tried to blow it off for my bride's sake.
Food is phenomenal and the service is next level. If you don't normally dine at this level and are looking for an amazing anniversary or special date night then look no further. We sat outdoors and the view is absolutely amazing.
Wonderful service both from busboy and waitress- great food and ambiance 😃
Way too loud and way too expensive. Overpriced in the extreme. Wont go back. Sorry.
Reunion with friends
Excellent food, ambience and service!
Our family of five had a great dinner at a very nice table. We were there at a busy time and were seated late, service was slower than it should have been, but it was otherwise excellent. The location and views of the lake from the restaurant are awesome. Our food was great as well and portions were perhaps too generous for our group.
The food and service were good. Not exceptional but very good. The diningroom was beautiful but a little loud.
Maybe it was the labor day crowd but the steaks were overcooked. Service was great. Usually the food is done correct. No water refills also
The worst Chicken Caesar Salad we have ever had. Brown lettuce, tasteless chicken and a tiny portion for a huge price. Very limited menu selections.
Sucked - over rated and $50 corkage - outrageous!!!
I very recently wrote a glowing review of our experience two nights before this one. No need to repeat how wonderful EVERYthing was. I'll just say that this second night proved that the first one was not a fluke. This place is superb in every way!
Construction underway difficult to park.
Greeters terrible and cancelled our reservation....
This place is absolutely outstanding. The service — and I mean EVERYone from the host, bussers, waitstaff, everyone — was fantastically competent without being at all stuffy, and the food was excellent. I can't think of anything to improve upon (except maybe have some Cabernet choices for less than $26 a glass, although that $26/glass cab was darn good I must say). Oh, and all those folk who gave it 2 or 3 stars just because they couldn't sit outside, boo hoo. When you make the reservation — whether live or via OpenTable — they tell you that they will try to get outdoor seating if you want, but can’t guarantee it. They do try. We bat about 70% success on sitting outside. Last night was inside. It was still worth five stars and more. I think those who rate the restaurant badly just because they had to sit inside may have their priorities discombobulated.
Celebrating our 2nd yr wedding anniversary was wonderful
I was disappointed with my duck breast, very tough. My friend had the halibut and she said it was good not great. Thinking the regular chef takes Monday nights off...
We were seated at a very small table on an aisle way near the food pick up and the entrance to the dining room. I asked about the empty tables that I saw, but didn’t get any satisfaction!
The setting was beautiful and the food was excellent!
We enjoyed a great evening....the staff was outstanding, my Bison was fantastic! The noise, due to a birthday party, large gathering immediately beside us., made having an conversation a little more interesting, but did not cause us the not fully enjoy our experience.
Great food as always. Deb and Amanda were great taking care of us (especially Amanda). Sooooo Noisy we could hardly carry on a conversation.
This is an annual experience for us, and this year didn’t disappoint! Absolutely loved everything!!! The Baked Tahoe was the cherry on top, yum!
Excellent location and service.
Visiting Lake Tahoe
Food was very good, drinks even better. Beautiful setting on Lake Tahoe. Service was excellent.
Food was delicious, but the noise level indoor made it impossible to hear. We opted to wait longer for a space outside. The need to wait was frustrating since we had a reservation which included a request to sit outdoors. Apparently request are not necessarily honored.
We could not have asked for more; we loved every bit of our experience there ( the food, service, environment - the setting on the Lake Tahoe shore was spectacular)
Great atmosphere, great service, great food. And it's right at the Tahoe shore line.
All good except for service and mishap in kitchen.
Friends ordered a watermelon salad and they got everything but the watermelon! Took a long while to get service; when our server finally came he didn’t offer much for the mishap. My husband jumped in and said how about a free dessert for our friends for your mistake? Sever agreed.
Sever should have been more attentive.
Reception staff was very lacking. Their response to our written request for the patio was curt and rude: "Sorry nothing available.". There was no interest in trying to accommodate us. Further, we had stated in the reservation that it was a 50th birthday party. The server was never told by the front desk. Server did his best to take of us. Once told of the birthday, he made sure to include a dessert with candle.
Don’t bother selecting indoor or outdoor for your reservation. In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, “you know how to take the reservation, just not hold the reservation.”
I had selected the outdoor seating for my wife and I to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Apparently that was too much to ask for. We were promptly seated, inside. When I asked why we weren’t being seated outside as I had reserved, she informed me it was “first come first serve.” Ok... but we showed up 30 mins before our RESERVATION. What a joke. Why even have a selection then? Wishful thinking?
Food is good, but overpriced; ambiance is also good, but you pay too much for it. Having the little “reserved” placards for tables might go a long way, assuming you’re actually trying to be a reputable restaurant.
Back to basics.
Dinner was awesome wait staff couldn’t be more attentive. Great meal and experience to wind down from a five hour drive from the peninsula. We had enough food left over to provide another dinner for us. We are High Sierra Time Share owners and greatly recommend the Hyatt’s gem.
