London Lennies Ratings and Reviews
I used to go to London Lennies with some frequency. But my schedule and the distance has caused me not to get there often. It is still a very consistent place with great, lively atmosphere. Of course the food is excellent. Just a bit too busy and staff is somewhat overwhelmed with the numerous tables. I will return.
London Lennies is the best restaurant in Queens. Never disappointed. They have an extensive, creative menu with fine fish selection. Todays visit was a delight, since it was "crab season". Enjoyed Florida stone crab appetizer ($24.) and later crab au gratin. The only thing I did not enjoy was the bloody mary. (Mr. & Mrs. T's mix would have been better!) ALSO, visit the restaurant in December as they always decorate it beautifully for the holidays.
Went as a group of four for dinner. Had a reservation that was immmediately honored. Had asked for a quiet table but was seated near a service station.
Dinner service was very efficient and the entrees were well prepared. I had crabmeat stuffed shrimp. There were 3 jumbo shrimp that had a generous amount of crab filling..
A crab and corn creamy soup was very tasty and served as a thick combination of vegetables. Desserts if pecan pie and key lime pie were good.
We hadn't been there in a a long time; everything about the evening was great! Our waiter, whose name I forgot, was very attentive and the bus boy was good. The baked clams were delicious and we had some great oysters too! Our dishes were excellent! We finished with creme brulee which was delicious!
The restaurant was recommended by a local business associate and WOW the recommendation was great. The food was terrific and the service was exceptional. We had a great meal with business associates and were able to talk without shouting. Our server was attentive but never made us feel rushed. Since it was a business meeting as well as a meal, we were there longer than the average diner, and our server accommodated our needs perfectly. I will recommend to anyone traveling to the area to give London Lennies a try.
London Lennie's Crab Fest never disappoints. The crab meat quesadilla is amazing. The portion is huge and perfect for sharing. Also a plus is the LL beer-batted shrimp. Large shrimp and generous portion. If you are a fan of raw bar, then London Lennie's is the place for you.
Crab fest lunch was expensive $260 for three, with tip. One drink apiece and only one appetizer and one dessert for the table. The food is always good, the service not-so-much this time. Waitress must have been new as we ordered three crab au gratin main courses and were served three fillet stuffed with crab and shrimp. When we told her the order was wrong she said it wasn’t, until I showed her the shrimp which isn’t in the crab au gratin. She begrudgingly agreed that the order was wrong. But this delayed our lunch by another 20 minutes while they prepared three new entrees. Once correctly served it was delicious. At the end of the meal I was handed a bill for $118, which I knew was incorrect and when I told the Waitress to bring me the correct check she got snippy. I should have paid the $118 check and stuck them with wrong bill, but we did the right thing and paid the correct check. It was a shame because this was a birthday celebration, and the poor service put a damper on the nice occasion. Great food, high prices, and this time poor service.
It was already dark and stormy night. So to going to Lennies was a delight. Read valet service. The crab festival is going on and the menu options were terrific. My clients and I enjoyed choosing from the different menus. Service was great and very attentive. My only disappointment was with the raw bar, I was hoping for an assortment of all three types. However Management will not allow this. One of the selection of six clams tasted frozen and old. The other little neck clams tasted fresh. The rest of our dinners accompanied by a fine Italian white wine was excellent. Special kudos to the crab cake assortment. Fresh and delicious.
The food was good and the ambience was exceptional. The one thing I did not appreciate about the service was after we finished our main course the “bus boy” came over to the table to take up the paper placed over the table cloths. We were still at the table and had planned on ordering desserts. Now, why he would do that while we were sitting at the table was inappropriate . I noticed that he had not done it the other patrons surrounding us. However, if he had asked us if he could remove the brown paper it would not have resignated with me and I would not have observed if had done the same to the patrons around me. Table clean up is always done after the patrons have gone not during their dining experience. Unless there was a spilliage of some sort . Lastly, our waitress was wonderful. She made us laugh and smile. Her upbeat and enthusiastic mannerisms made our dinning experience at London Lennies worthwhile!
The food is always great and the waitstaff are friendly and helpful, but the hostesses are rather rude and make no effort to be accommodating. We had a standard reservation and on our arrival we're led to a high top table in the bar. When we noted that one of our party couldn't sit in a high chair, the hostess' initial reaction was 'well, I don't know what else I can do for you.' The restaurant was about half full. Eventually they offered us a booth, but they certainly weren't gracious about it.
I’m not sure what happend to LL but the food was bland and absolutely no taste. I had tuna tartare on many occasions here and loved it, this visit it was horrible. Being the only customers upon arrival, the waitress was so busy talking she had no idea we were there. Never checked up on us either. Will not be returning unless they get their act together.
