London Lennies Ratings and Reviews
Very warm, I wanted a bottle of wine but didn’t get much of a choice to choose from also the side orders wasn’t mush of a selection in vegetables, I was force to ordered creamed spinach which i didn’t care for and end up didn’t eaten it. But overall the food was good.
Valentine’s Day with my husband
We had 6 pm reservations and were seated at 6:30.
We were sat at a small round cocktail table that was too small to hold our meals. They added more tables cramped together fir the occasion. There was not enough staff and service was inconsistent and delayed. Food was not their best as we have always enjoyed eating there a lot. Bread was cold, water was not refilled, utensils were falling off tiny table
London Lennies is always wonderful, but even more so on holidays, like Valentines Day, when other restaurants limit customers to a pre-fixe menu with few choices. LL offers their regular menu along with a list of special items for the occasion. They warmly greet you at reception, graciously seat you, then provide a fabulous, innovative dining experience at a great value! We spend every V-Day with them.
Had the Lobster Roll plate for $30 I received 2 small slices of bread with just a few piece of lobster in the folded breads and a small portion of fries. This was at best a lunch portion. I was totally surprised but didn’t want to make a fuss. The portion of pasta and red clam sauce my friend had was enormous enough for 3 ppl. That was $24. The portion to price ratio needs work. Th e food is good but the overall experience left something to be desired the service was not great either had to wait 20 mins for our order to be taken after our waiter asked if were ready which we said yes. Hopefully it was just a bad night but not particularly happy with the dinner experience.
After a terrible food experience last year for dinner I agreed to try again this year only for lunch . After entering and standing there for at least 5 min before anyone even acknowledged me I thought ugh should I just leave. Finally a women came out and I said oh good I thought no one was working today to which she gave a snippy answer with a deadpan face . If it wasn’t my aunts birthday and her choice to eat there I would have walked out. Having said all that at least our server was nice and my food was ok.
First time and hopefully not the last. The Corn & Crab Chowder was outstanding! They offered a pre Restaurant Week dinner that was on point with all three options. I had the Shellfish Steamer Bag and was not disappointed. The lobster was 1-1/2 lbs! My friend had the Branzino and was immensely pleased.
Neighborhood gem. The good: good quality raw bar, of course the bread, the kids dishes and portions. The not-so-great: New England Clam Chowder was all celery with maybe 3 clams chopped up (bowl size); the bread can be hotter; difficult to park and the valet leaves you car in non-parking zones on the street.
