Lombardo's Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I both enjoyed our food very much although my lasagna (huge!) was only warm when it was finally brought out. Definitely not hot. The service was extremely slow and it took a good hour for our food to arrive which makes me assume the lasagna was just sitting back there getting cold for some time. Our waiter was very inattentive and seemed to care very little about earning a tip. Overall we enjoyed the food and setting but having a different waiter would’ve earned 5 stars.
Went to dinner before Jim Gaffigan at ScotTrade. Great location for that. Food was good and predictable. Our server was friendly but seemed scattered, leading to slow service. We allowed for this in our plans so it wasn't a problem but it made us question if they were overwhelmed by the full house or if this is the norm. Would go again due to proximity to ScotTrade but otherwise, probably not.
Party of 6 for dinner after arriving in St. Louis. Restaurant is located in the basement of Drury Inn. Decor is dated and lacking but clean. You're greeted with a photo of President Bush's family dining there for a nostalgic moment.
Food was great! One of best, if not the best, Caesar salads I've ever eaten. Lasagne is what you dream of. Affordable wine list and excellent service by Aleaia. Food makes the visit worth it!
I had asked for Dave who i believe to be a manager to ask the chef to create some appitizer options that were not on the menu but foods that did appear in dishes. The chef did an exceptional job. Dave was very willing to help. Our server was outstanding and once again an exceptional at her job. 7 of us had steak choices and they were done perfect. 1 had the snapper which was the fish/day and again outstanding. Thanks for being accomadating and exceptio al service and food.
We were celebrating birthdays among our old college group. The table was ready when we arrived. Our waitress was relatively new and had a little trouble handling a larger group, but she tried hard and she was very pleasant. Lobster Ravioli was on the menu for the evening; it was excellent as always. One of our favorite places!
It was good but not as good as expected. We had heard great things be expected more that we received. Food was hit or miss. Sea bass special was good by salmon was dry nd flavorless. The lobster and fried ravioli appetizer was fantastic. service was good and we will try it again but still less than expected
Food great. Place was packed--St. Louis Restaurant Weekend. Table a couple rows away from us had a party of about 12-14 people--loud and boisterous--made conversation difficult. Usually find Lombardo's a place for quiet conversation. Not possible this night, which made it less than pleasant. But the food is AAA
I've always considered Lombardo's to be a hidden gem. My friends and I attended for Downtown Restaurant Week. Rich was a great server and Mike Lombardo always does a great job! 3 of my friends had never eaten at the venue and they loved it. Everyone loved their food choice. The toasted ravioli at Lombardo's, Carmine's and Angelo's is the best I've ever had! The house salad and Cappelino Anthony were delicious!
The escargot were really good! We were told that it takes 25 minutes to make and assemble the lasagna. We said that we would wait. The lasagna had a weird flavor to it and was warmish. We laughed because the waiter put the plates onto the table holding the plates with a napkin as if they were hot, but they were cold plates. The manager said that the waiter was being cautious in case that the plates were hot. Couldn't the waiter touch the plate like we did and feel that it was cold? The tiramisu was like cheese cake and came in a wine glass. We did not taste the rum or notice any texture of the lady fingers. We have never had it in a wine glass before. It took 25 minutes to get it. The espresso was warm but the cup was hot. The manager told us that they don't have an espresso machine. They have machine like a Keurig to make it. It took 2 hours to have escargot, lasagna, and tiramisu. Way too long and slow service and it was not crowded when we were there at 5:30.
First time at this restaurant, chosen for its proximity to the Peabody Opera House. Our server, Alicia (sp?), was exceptional, very accommodating in the whole process, from menu recommendations, halving the appetizer, creating half-size dinner portions and helping with wine selections. The food and the atmosphere were a lovely experience.
The salmon was excellent, and the pasta was prepared perfectly.
I would recommend this to anyone going into town.
We enjoyed ourselves very, very, very, very, very, very, much. Will be,be,be,back, back, back, again, again, again. what I don't like is your demanding pressure on fifty words, hate it, hate it.Good bye, good bye, good bye, good bye, good bye, good bye, good bye, good bye.
