Lombardo's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
- The food was fabulous. I'd never had steamed mussels in the sauce used by Lombardo's. Osso bucco fell off the bone. My wife loved her escargot and clams and linguine. Our desserts, tiramisu and chocolate chip cannoli, were the best we've had in quite some time.
- There was live music, which was nice, but at times it was too loud for the room, which was somewhat small.
- While we were dining, large beetle (2" x 3/4") was crawling down the wall. The waiter tried to get him but missed. He appeared again and my wife had to move to the opposite side of the table. It put a damper on an otherwise delightful experience.
Out of escargot, out of lobster salad yet offered lobster tails. Shrimp carbonara was sweet, not pancetta salty. Shrimp were just thrown on top; not cooked in the sauce. One of my coworkers had a hair in her meal. They happily ordered her something else. Waiter was attentive but seemed a little uptight. Lasagna had very little flavor even though it looked beautiful. Drinks were good and the desert s were nice. Entertainment was nice. Probably won’t return.
A VERY PLEASANT DINING EXPERIENCE!
We tried a new place for dinner and were surprised at the quality, which is usually disappointing in the Myrtle Beach area. We started with Grilled octopus, which was perfectly marinated and grilled, mussels were tender and in a unique cream sauce which was excellent. Our entrees were perfectly cooked, I had the Veal Osso Bucco special, (there is a pork osso bucco on the menu). Dennis, our server was above and beyond accommodating and professional, truly an asset to the establishment. It is hard to believe based on our experience that this restaurant has gotten anything but favorable reviews, we will be joining Lombardo's for dinner again in the near future.
Excellent dinners. Seafood special was served over a lobster risotto was was wonderful. Waiter was attentive and if anything a little too friendly however he handled our party of ten with ease. Chicken rollatini was plentiful and very tasteful as were the veal dishes
Came here while on vacation. Restaurant has a musty, damp smell. Waitress was mediocre with little knowledge of the food. I had the "trio seafood special" which was shrimp scallop and grouper. Scallops were overcooked and rubbery, and the grouper was one giant piece of fish and all of the food was literally DROWNING in a salty-lobster sauce. Didn't love the place - sorry!
Found this restaurant on TripAdvisor while looking for a good meal in Myrtle Beach. This restaurant was great. We both had the Lombardo's Triple Stack-Filet, topped with a crab cake, topped with 3 shrimp. Yum! The rolls and olive oil dip were great. Everything was delicious.
Our waiter was originally from the Pittsburgh area and so are we. It was fun chatting with him.
First off the outside may fool you as it could use a little work but its not a deal breaker. I'd say its important to remember the little things but as soon as you walk in the door all of that goes away. Beautiful restaurant. Amazing service from John from Transylvania aka Dracula (not lying lol) He and his coworkers operate seamlessly feels like you're a part of their extended family. Seriously. Amazing service. The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing. I had the lasagna and my wife had the Chicken breast covered with fresh green spinach ... she loved hers and i haven't had a better more perfect lasagna. The place was quiet however in my group were a few loud ones and i hope they dont get bad reviews because of my crew but we just thoroughly enjoyed our night. Great place to impress your date. Very romantic and the ambiance is beautiful. I will say the collection of smells from whatever was being cooked (fresh Fish or maybe the cheeses or a mixture of both) was a bit rough but it didnt take away from our evening. 4 stars!!!
We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it--until this visit. Service and atmosphere remained great but the food could only be described as mediocre. Tried the spinach and artichoke dip which was overwhelmingly mayonnaise and sour cream with a hint of spinach (no sign of artichoke). Salad was pitiful. Three of us had the Lombardo stack which we have had numerous times in the past. The steak was overcooked and no more than 4 ounces. The crab cake was dry and the combination had very little flavor. One in our group had chicken alfredo and it was a typical dish. The best part was the tiramisu and chocolate cannolis. Both were excellent. There was live music and that was great. Really sad to have such a disappointing meal.
There was a large party which delayed our meal by over an hour; poor kitchen management. Food was ok but not for the money. The seafood dishes did not have adequate seafood for the price. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Half of our party enjoyed the food and the other half did not. We did not enjoy the salmon with the peaches and sweet, sweet sauce. That was a very weird combination and not what we were expecting. The tomato soup was wonderful. The grouper in the lemon sauce was great, as were the lasagna and stuffed portobello mushrooms. Good service, and a nice atmosphere.
Our reservation was for 8pm, yet we didn't need it, even though it was a Saturday night. The waiter was John, he announced himself, followed by "if you care", which could be comical, but he seemed to have had a hard time there too. We ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and special of Fried green tomatoes for appetizers. The Oysters were dry, no white wine drizzle before leaving the kitchen. The Fried Tomatoes were okay, except from some odd little shrimp pieces that seemed very out of place. So far okay, but then...The Linguine with clams were out right horrible and the mushroom ravioli, extremely sweet and similarly inedible. We left immediately, never to return.
