Typical Italian menu, above average.
We sat in the bar area so we could watch sports on TV.
Out of our wine selection, said thy ran our today, we were the first customers??? Server was outstanding!!!!
We ordered salads and the lettuce was so large you had to cut it before you could even I eat it and there wasn’t even any dressing on it. We ordered parmesan risotto as a side order. Our meals came and we asked the waiter “big John” for some Parmesan on our seafood meals. He said that they had a big weekend and he didn’t have any fresh Parmesan but could give us the cheap stuff that comes in a shaker! What Italian restaurant doesn’t have fresh Parmesan? He then brought out the Parmesan risotto that was just like uncooked rice. Now the big mystery is how can they offer Parmesan risotto when they were out of the Parmesan? The waiter was overwhelmed and never asked how our meal were. I would not recommend this restaurant.
This was our second visit to Lombardo’s in a week. The first time, our service was outstanding. This visit, our service was just okay, actually, bordering on poor. Unfortunately, I don’t blame our waitress. She had a 10 top in the back dining room besides us and at least two other tables. Our bread wasn’t as hot, our salad was not as crisp. I had the veal Osso Bucco. It was very good, but my risotto was just okay. Overall, we were disappointed. It proves the theory that you can’t go back when having experienced an outstanding meal.
Exceptional meals. Soothing music. Professional and caring wait staff. A perfect place to dine.
The food is always amazing. I try something different each time. I had a combo of shhellfish, shrimp, clams, mussels and calamari in scampi sauce over linguine. My husband had veal marsala. Both entrees came with soup or salad. I had a delicious sausage and vegetable soup. My husband had a caesar salad.
My favorite place to eat..never disappointed...love specials
We had an outstanding dinner. Adam our server, gave us lots of good recommendations on what to order. We started with a nice, moderately priced , bottle of wine. We ordered calamari which was excellent; lightly breaded and cooked perfectly and served with an excellent marinara sauce. The warm bread was fresh out of the oven and served with a mixture of olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, garlic and spices. It was great! Our included salad was fresh and crisp and served with a delicious, house made, blue cheese dressing. Finally, we had chosen to split the seafood trio; flounder, shrimp and scallops, served over a bed of Parmesan Risotto and covered with lobster bisque. Simply delicious!
We have been snowbirds for the past three years and always drove by Lombardo's but never tried it. This year we were determined to try it for dinner. The entire experience was fantastic! We were surprised to find that there was live entertainment, which was excellent and made an otherwise regular dinner night into a special evening. The ambience was great, we both felt like it would be a great place to celebrate our anniversary when we return next year. Our meals were delicious. We had the fried green tomatoes, osso buco, pork, chocolate cheesecake and canollis. Everything was cooked to perfection. I can hardly wait to return next year.
This was the first time at Lombardo's and we had a wonderful time. The food was outstanding as was the service but our favorite part of our experience was the live Jazz music. The musicians were very talented and the singer was great. A great experience, we will definitely go back again.
Very nice ambience. Booths are very comfortable and afford a great deal of privacy. Very good wine list. Wide variety of traditional and newer more innovative Italian dishes. Had live music on Friday evening which added to the atmosphere. Appetizers were very tasty and nicely presented. Entrees were also delicious and prepared to perfection. Would definitely go back again.
Perfect evening with friends. Great sever. Delicious food. Exquisite dinner jazz music
Compares with Northeast Italian restaurants. They first start you off with excellent bread and the bread dip is awesome. Went there twice this week and had the Specials both days...excellent preparation and great taste. Adam our server did an excellent job taking care of us both times... Will go again when in town.
Dinner was EXCELLENT! We had of the specials that our waiter recommended and he was spot on! Adam explained everything perfectly and was very attentive to our needs. The value of the meal is great as the food is top notch... would rate this up there with Northeast Italian, if not better...
our complements to the chef!
Loved the salmon
Always good food and ambiance
This was the first of many visits to come. From the homemade peach martini to the wonderful lamb meal, we were impressed. The service was professional and everyone was attentive to our visit.
Great food. Bar a bit noisy though. The grouper special was wonderful. There was a loud bar crowd that didn’t get quieter. But overall we would come back for great food
We had a party of 10 and they were ready for us when we arrived. The waiter was outstanding. He told us there was a party of 25 in the adjacent room and that he would bring the appetizer out and allow a little time for our meals to be prepared. They did a great job of getting our meals out timely and everyone really enjoyed the appetizers and their meal.
Good classic Italian.
Great restaurant!! Absolutely love the restaurant. This time we had a table by the bar . The bar crowd was very loud. Otherwise fantastic.
Excellent food. Temp and taste of meal absolutely wonderful.
It was the perfect restaurant for Valentines Day or any other occasion. One of the top restaurants in Myrtle Beach.
The food was so so. You sure do not get a lot for the money. We ordered stuffed peppers as an appetizer for $10.00. They just gave us a couple of very small slices of pepper and topped it with very minimal sausage and mozzarella cheese. It was laughable.
We had a really good experience and would highly recommend it to friends and actually have already . I shared this already on social media. Can't say enough about Lombardo's
Wonderful New Years Eve menu perfectly acceptable.
Good food good service nice atmosphere
The service was below average, we had made a point of going to the restaurant because 2 years ago, the service and food were exceptional. Not all items were available on the menu and it was Saturday night. We will not go back.
Food was good but bar service was not. My husband ordered a dirty martini but got a martini with no olive juice and no olives!!! I ordered a glass of wine, which was served several minutes before the quasi-martini (they should have been delivered together). Note that we were already seated at our table so I don't know if the fault was with the bar or with our server. Then I ordered a second glass of wine just before our dinner was served. I didn't get it till I was finished with my dinner...again I don't know if it was the bar or our server.
Our family of three enjoyed our first visit to Lombardo's. It was a busy Friday night between Christmas and New Year's. Our waiter, Adam, was prompt to start the evening, but seemed to become overwhelmed with other patrons. Totally missed bringing our salads, but did comp our desserts. Apps of octopus and calamari were very tasty and cooked properly. Entrees of seafood were all prepared as ordered. The temp of my seafood trio was just warm, but other diners said their entrees were hot. Daughter wanted lobster ravioli which was not on menu, but Adam went to kitchen to check and made it happen for her! Cocktails were very good, although a bit delayed once the meal started. The tiramisu is made in house and was some of the best we have had. All the staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We will return again when visiting from out of town.
We had a great first experience at the restaurant. I would highly recommend trying it if you love Italian food. We had a great waiter. The food was overall great.
Third time we dined here. First two times very good. Christmas day dinner poor in alkl aspects.
Worst was waiter and hoastess knw offproblems and no one in management was seen.
Good food great service , a little noisy a little pricey.
But worth trying
My family and I went to Lombardo’s for Christmas dinner. There were 9 of us. The waitress took forever to bring us bread, our appetizers and entrees. The soup was not hot and neither was the holiday dinner special. No one came to clear the table of our appetizers so we ended up stacking the dishes ourselves. The ambiance was great and the food was good but would have been better if served hot.
The service was excellent and the food was also exceptional
Went for Christmas Eve diner and was not disappointed.
Service and food was excellent.
Wine selections very good and reasonable in price.
Me and my family went to dinner on Christmas eve and it was a disaster, first of all we were not made aware that you had a limited menu that night. We waited after placing are drink order about 20 minutes, are waiter kept coming over to apologize for the long wait saying that the bar was backed up we could see the bar from where we were sitting and there was no one at the bar and the bartender was just standing there several times during are wait. We saw are drinks sitting on the bar for about 10 minutes before we finally got them. Then we waited another 45 minutes for are appetizers. My husband ordered spaghetti and sausage the portion was very poor he received 2 small pieces of sausage and very little spaghetti, if you are charging 16.50 for spaghetti that only cost very little I can buy a pound at the store for less the $1 give your customers what they are paying for. We are locals and we had people from out of town with us that was very disappointed. My husband works in the hospitality industry and he will not be recommending your restaurant to his customers, he is always being asked where a good restaurant is. Are meals were not all served at the same time 3 meals came out and the other 2 had to wait for there meals. If you are working with a limited menu you need to make your customers aware of it when making there reservations. Are waiter kept apologizing for the wait then after we finally got are meals he did not come back to check to make sure everything was alright. As you know there are several nice restaurants that we could have gone to in Myrtle Beach but unfortunately we choose yours. It was Christmas Eve and we walked out aggravated and disappointed not to mention the money we spent.
Nice restaurant with good Italian food. We were there Christmas Eve so menu was limited but everything we ordered was very good. Waiter attentive and friendly. Nice evening.
The best Italian food we have ever had. I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The beef soup was amazing and the salad was refreshing. The table was beautifully set. We had the Fried Calamari for our appetizer. It was very tender and very fresh Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable. Zuppa di Pesce this seafood dish was served with spaghetti and a marinara sauce; other pasta options were available. It was outstanding. My husband had Chicken Marsala sauteed with mushrooms in a sweet marsala wine sauce. It was super tender, lean and quite tasty. Fairly extensive and most reasonably priced wine list. We were there for Christmas Eve dinner and they did an excellent presentation.
It was a return trip to Lombardo's with similar results; consistency is a good thing. Seemingly a good choice on Christmas Eve as there were several tables filled. Glass covered tables with festive tablecloths underneath. Service was prompt and informative. A special Holiday Menu provided limited but a good variety of selections. A fresh baguette was accompanied by a roasted red pepper and oil dipping sauce.
Our selections included the Veal Ossobuco and the Zuppe di pesce (think Fruitti de mar). Each was prefaced with either a Caesar or House Salad, both freshly made and of ample quantity. The House was chopped lettuce, mainly Romaine, carrots, tomatoes, and a choice of Vinaigrette, Ranch, Blue Cheese of Caesar dressing. Nothing out of the ordinary with the Caesar.
The entrees arrived in a timely fashion and were pleasantly plated and quite hot. The seafood dish was served with spaghetti and a soupy marinara sauce; other pasta options were available. It was VERY heavy on the mussels (at least 20, shells included) and small clams and a limited on scallops and shrimp. So many shell fish; the shell bowl provided came nowhere near holding the discards. The sauce, while flavorful, made the dish more of a stew than desired.
The Veal provided a 1" diameter shank cutting about 4 inches long with a good half pound of meat. It was super tender, lean and quite tasty. A small fork was there to enjoy the marrow as well. A healthy portion of Tuscan Risotto, properly al dente, was dressed with green peas and red peppers and was quite good. Could definitely recommend the Veal.
A respectable portion of Tiramisu on a bed of chocolate drizzled whipped cream completed the meal. Nothing distinct about the dessert. Very smooth and light but equally without much substance, the coffee flavoring being scarce.
A positive comment about the fairly extensive and most reasonably priced wine list. Quite a pleasant surprise with several bottle options priced below $30.
We visited Lombardo's last year and really enjoyed the food and ambience. We decided to go back again this year before seeing the Christmas Show at the Alabama Theater. Like last year, we enjoyed the food and had a very nice dinner. The veal Osso Buco special was a little pricey. However it was outstanding.
If you're looking for good Italian food, eat at Lombardo's
