The service and food was exceptional! I had the Elk Tenderloin with Whipped sweet potatoes. The Elk was done to perfection and fork tender. The Sommelier was very knowledgable and the wine list excellent. The Chef came out to the table after our meal to get our opinions. This is one of Santa Fe,s hidden gems.
Superior quality and presentation. Chef remarkable. Thank you.
Consistently delicious and perfect service. Our server gave me a perfect wine recommendation.
What a jewel is this great place! Try the snails - a dream. Lamb shank terrific! Elk tenderloin. Eat your heart out Geronimo’s. Everything was perfect again.
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. I don’t think it’s possible to have a bad bite ever!
There was a group of loud talking people that disturbed everyone.
Sad to see this local favorite with prices that will cause us to take it off our "go to" list. Food is outstanding, but the prices now put it beyond our date night budget.
Best short ribs I have ever, ever eaten... God job
We arrived late due to my mix-up, but we received a friendly reminder phone call and a warm welcome when we arrived, putting us at our ease. The restaurant is lovely, perfect for quiet conversation. My husband had suckling pig, his favorite dish on our annual trip to SF. My short ribs were tender and perfectly seasoned. His pear tartin was lovely and my almond cake was my favorite dessert, ever. Ever. Highly recommended.
Lovely space. Food was great. Service was excellent.
Our only complaint was that the menu prices which were listed online were quite a bit less than actual prices list in the restaurant. I brought that to the attention of the waiter and can only hope it will be updated.
The owner was very friendly and allowed me to purchase a small box they use for presenting checks. She went out of her way to find one for me.
Overall we enjoyed our meal and the service very much. I had filet and my friend had short ribs, both excellent in taste and presentation.
We chose L’Olivier for dinner on our Wedding Anniversary and it was perfect! The restaurant ambiance was romantic, the waiter was extremely attentive, and the appetizer, main courses and desserts were all delicious! I even got to enjoy one of my favorite desserts, the Isle Flotante, which is difficult to find on menus. L’Olivier was perfect!
From start to finish, the evening at L'Olivier was outstanding. This was our first visit, and we will be back in the future.
Outstanding as always. Perfect place for our anniversary. Salads are good-sized, each with a great combination of ingredients. My salmon was cooked perfectly, over a wild rice mixture with sauce like only the French can do. We split the ultra-rich chocolat desert.
Eat on the patio! That’s where the full experience lies. The food and wine selection are among the best in Santa Fe. The front of house staff make you feel at home. Thank you Michelle, Michele and Marci! You must get the squash blossoms, foie gras and the escargot. I went back a 2nd night to get the elk and it lived up to every bit of the hype. I will eat here every time I visit Santa Fe, not just for the food, wine and service, but to spend time with friends
L'Olivier remains one of the best, if not the best, restaurant in Sante Fe, a city with a dozen or more excellent restaurants.
The pear tarte tatin was excellent.
Outstanding food and service. My husband would go back in a heartbeat! Me, too. The layers of flavor of each dish were exquisite. Example, grouper on a bed of spinach, which was on a bed of black rice with an asparagus spear and zucchini slice on each side surround by a Chardonnay sauce! Absolutely Devine.
Lovely French bistro atmosphere and food. We eat here at least once every trip to Santa Fe.
Our table was right nest to the kitchen - very poor table placement. Food was OK but nothing special. There was an excellent appetizer special - stuffed squash blossoms that was very good. Shame that the rest of the dinner did not have the same originality and flavors. There is no "dinner salad" offered on the menu so if you want a salad, you have a very limited choice of salads that are big enough to be a meal by themselves.
Overall, the meal was well prepared, just not exceptional. There are better restaurants in Santa Fe.
I loved our dining experience here. First of all, it was chilly weather, and this was the only restaurant that was warm, cozy, comfortable, and also quiet. The food was perfect for cool weather: a comforting coq au vin with pasta and crispy vegetables (although too much portion), an excellent arugula salad with stuffed figs, and a creme brûlée. A bargain on the Tuesday/Wednesday prix fixe. My husband had duck breast—“best ever,” he said, “tender and tasty.” Service was excellent and not intrusive. We hesitated to have a non green Chile dinner given Santa Fe ‘s traditional cuisine, but this was a delight.
A delicious meal, in a quiet personal atmosphere. The service is attentive but not overwhelming. Strongly recommended
At least the dishes we had seem to suggest this restaurant is close to or at Michelin star level.
Their approach to escargot was both traditional and creative, super delicious. Seared foie gras was paired with pine apple rather than fig, again matching surprisingly well — brilliant!
Our server was knowledgeable and personable, and made entrée recommendations we both accepted. The sea bream fish skin was seared perfectly, flesh flaky and tender. He also paired a wine with the elk dish which infused the same wine in the sauce, thus a seamless complement to each other.
We were too full to enjoy any deserts afterwards. but next time, desert first ^_^!
Lovely small chef owned restaurant. Food is great with beautiful presentation.
Delicious dinner and our Rochester, NY cousins loved the dinner and restaurant. We enjoy taking out of town guests to L’Olivier!
The food was extraordinary and beautifully presented. It was a Saturday night and was understaffed. Wait staff were personable but not obviously well trained. Once finished with our dinner plates they sat on the table so long we moved them to the far side ourselves and it was still some time before they were collected
We enjoyed the food so much we would definitely go back!
Fantastic food, knowledgable wait staff, delightful experience.
Though we've lived in Santa Fe for many years, long before L'Olivier was here, we never went until the other night, and I'm so glad we did. The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious. It was a Friday evening and we were placed at a table right near the kitchen, which was less than ideal. After telling us it would be difficult to change places, the hostess kindly arranged for us to sit at a quieter table. The food was delicious. Not what I would call "haute," but well prepared, traditional fare that was totally satisfying. Service was friendly if a little disorganized (the person who served us was possibly in training). Overall, I'm delighted to have discovered this adorable neighborhood place with very good French food.
We love L'Olivier and go there whenever we are in Santa Fe. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable.
The service is impeccable and the food is absolutely wonderful. If you are a lover of Foie Gras this is the
place to go!!
Service was excellent.
Some items were exceptional: roasted squash, salmon.
Suckling pig was so salty it was inedible.
Salad, almond cake, their special crepe all OK.
I highly recommend the prix fixe meal. Great food that's not too expensive.
Food and ambience lovely. Cozy on a rainy night. Quiet, tables not jammed close together. Food was good and tasty but not what I would rate as excellent. We will come back.
The food is always excellent. We’ve eaten there many times and have never had a bad meal.
A very cozy establishment that was within walking distance from our lodging. We tried the Cream of Mushroom soup which was the soup of the day and it was superb. My son had the Escargot and he loved it as well. For the main course, 3 of us had the filet mignon. I found mine to be a little bit dry and chewy. The pink peppercorn sauce was not overwhelming and a nice accoutrement to the filet. The potato croquettes were very delicious. We also had the braised short ribs and that was definitely a hit. The plate was empty in a blink of the eye. They do NOT have a full bar, however my wife was very pleased with the Bordeaux wine she chose. I enjoyed my beer selection. Overall we really liked the service, ambiance and quality of the food.
It was an absolutely incredible meal. I have written
to Michelin saying they should give you a star. We have enjoyed many Michelin starred meals and this was just as good, if not better, than those meals.
Salmon and short ribs good. Duck pretty bad. Service inexperienced.
The perfect French place you always hoped would be in your neighborhood. Friendly, warm, and the food is delicious.
Good food, nice atmosphere, and wonderful service.
Exceptional food. Truly French cuisine from start to finish.
This restaurant is consistently excellent. Good wine list , good beautifully seasoned and prepared. Service warm, friendly, knowledgeable.
