Mexican
Lolita is a Modern Mexican Restaurant located in Philadelphia in Midtown Village. Originally opened in 2004 by restaurateurs Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran, it underwent a major renovation in 2014 and reopened with a fresh look, a new Mexican street food-inspired menu and a full liquor license.

The extensive full-scale renovation highlights the addition of a 16-seat bar and chef's counter looking into the open kitchen. Lolita seats 45 guests with additional outdoor sidewalk seating in the warmer months. Reservations are accepted every day for lunch and dinner, while seating at the bar and chef’s counter is on a first come, first served basis. We have a full liquor license and accept all major credit cards.

We had an excellent time and enjoyed ourselves immensely. If we are in the city again we would definitely think about coming here again. Great food and pretty solid prices.

Everyone loved our experience at Lolitas. The guacamole is outstanding and we had a pitcher of the blood orange margaritas which were refreshing and not too sweet. Super fun, energetic restaurant in the heart of Rittenhouse!

Didn’t like new menu. Prefer options on previous menu. Food was brought out too quickly and hadn’t even finished previous course

Who braves a downtown restaurant on Cinco de Mayo? We did! The food was outstanding and the service was also great. I have a hearing disability, so the noise level was a bit overwhelming at 2 but by the time we finished our meal, the crowd had thinned out and our conversation was easier. Food, service, atmosphere and desserts were all excellent!

Lolita used to be a go-to for my husband and I. We're sad that it isn't what it used to be. I tried two different margaritas, both were watered down. One margarita was supposed to be spicy. When I asked the server if it could be made spicier, she offered to bring me jalapenos. Ummm, that's not how a spicy margarita works. Also, when the carne asada was brought out, it was cold and was not cooked the way we wanted. I would've asked our server to have it cooked a bit longer but she was M.I.A. for awhile. I hope they adjust some things so that we can go back to enjoying this restaurant.

Had a client lunch here and we all had a great time. It was a nice day, so many people sat outside. We didn't, and the noise level was quiet as a result. Great laid back atmosphere and decor. Great food and drinks. Guacamole was excellent ... really tasty (more so than other places)! Very fresh food in general.

We love Lolita. One of our stalwart favorites in center city. Love the tables up front which have a little more room, less noise and scope for watching the world go by. Food always tasty and well presented with zesty touches. Cheerful attentive service. Highly recommend!

Crowded, yet cozy. Food was very good, not the best. I got the chicken tacos - they were a little dry. Overall - i had a great night with my girl friends. The sangria pitchers are a great deal!

Extremely loud inside- we opted to eat on the sidewalk. You are seated elbow to elbow with the next table so no conversation is private. The short rib nachos were the best I have ever had!

My friend and I visited on a Tuesday night. It was earlier in the evening when we arrived. We were seated promptly. We started with a couple of cocktails that were delicious. Unfortunately the cocktails were the best part of the meal. It’s really surprising since I’ve been to several of the other restaurants owned by the sane group.
We started with the chorizo queso. This dish was really mostly flavorless. It didn’t help that the tortillas seemed to be the same frozen tortillas out get at Acme. They really didn’t seem fresh and made an already flavorless dish just that much less inviting. We moved on to the TAQUIZAS. We ordered the shrimp and pork options. The pork it self was pretty good. The seared Brussels sprouts could have used a bit of salt to bring out the sweetness of them. The char was uneven from one to next with some having none at all. Again the tortillas just dampen the small amount of enjoyment that the pork promised for this dish. The shrimp version was really totally off the mark. I’m not sure if the shrimp sat to long in marinade or were just over cooked. But they came to the table chewy and over seasoned. Again nothing we added to them really helped make up for the low quality of the tortillas.

The service was so so. I think the server should know the happy hour offering even when they are working in the dining room. Our server did check back for drinks and after the first course. But the share plates were never switched out even though the were very greasy from the queso. The restaurant got a little busier by the time our entrees were served, so we didn’t get a table check during that portion of the meal.

I was there to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We were interrupted by an event I was unaware of. Someone came to my table and interrupted our conversation and would not leave trying to get us to donate money for a disease. It was uncomfortable and inappropriate.

When visiting Philly, we loved Lolita's so much we went back a second night for the same dishes: guac, street corn, carne asada, fish tacos. We were fortunate to have small table for two near the window, perfect for us. Loved the house margaritas, served up in mason jars, great value and wonderful. If in Philly, this is the place for folks like us who love upscale Mexican.

Great place to eat before a show. Would recommend the short rib nachos and traditional guacamole. Both entrees were very good, shrimp as well as pork carnitas would buy again. Blood orange sorbet was a great finish. Service was excellent. Tables are rather close, but we were fortunate to enjoy our meal as the table next to us remained open. Will look forward to visiting again.

Every aspect of Lolita was AMAZING. I’ve been to so many Mexican restaurants in the city (el vez, mission, el Rey, lucha cartel, los camaradas) & none of them have come close to the experience at Lolita. The food was so fresh, delicious and flavorful! Get the mango guacamole & the fish tacos ! You won’t be disappointed. The drinks were also amazing. I had the cucumber jalapeño margarita and it was the perfect amount of heat. EAT HERE !!!
