excellent place ,, great food , worth the drive ,,,,
They always cater to my food allergies.
We met the chef for the first time.
Have good wine and love the humus (made with mushrooms and dairy free).
Fabulous dining experience. Delicious, creative cuisine. Friendly, competent service. Always a delight.
We loved everything about our evening. Our greeting byShelby, our conversation with Chef Lenny , drinks and of course the amazing food. Our favorite restaurant. Love, love, love!!!
We celebrated my birthday and everything was wonderful. Great duck tacos, salads and tapas. Very interesting drink choices as well.
Dinner with a friend on Thursday evening at Lola, on Middle Neck Road in Great Neck – her first time there, my second. I’m looking forward to my third, and fourth, and….
When we arrived for our 6:30 p.m. reservation on a Thursday evening, the room was mostly empty, with only two other tables and only two bar seats taken. That changed toward 8 p.m., when I noticed that the place had mostly filled up. Note to self: There’s nothing wrong with an early-ish dinner on a weekday (if I start touting the manifold benefits of blue-plate specials, however, you are invited to reprimand me).
We ordered a bottle of Lecea Tempranillo Crianza 2014 Rioja from the very short list (only 6 red wines offered by the glass or bottle – see attached drinks menu photo). It was OK, inexpensive, and paled in comparison to the quality of the food to come.
Service was knowledgeable and attentive throughout – our waitress knew her stuff, and the busboy cleared plates and filled water glasses timely. It’s very nice when things run like a well-oiled machine.
We decided to forego main courses, and instead shared 3 of the Mezze offerings and 3 of the small plates, which was more than enough food (yes, there was a doggie bag). We had: a squash off-menu special with tzatziki, baba ganoush (eggplant), and roasted cauliflower salad – each was delicious, especially the latter two. The baba ganoush in particular was one of the best I’ve ever had, and trust me, I’ve had plenty! We also shared charred octopus, lamb malawach, and mujadara (see attached food menu photo for descriptions). The dishes’ conceptions were creative, the preparations well-executed, and the results very satisfying. We loitered till well past 9 p.m. and were not rushed out. Lola is not only a high quality establishment, but also a great value. And both street parking and the municipal lot around the corner are free after 6 p.m.!
Best restaurant ever!!! We love it
It was an amazing adventure to Great Neck to an amazing restaurant called Lola the food was incredible The Taste the flavors the presentation the ambiance and everybody that work there were fantastic it is a must for anyone in that area you're so lucky to have them and it is where you want to eat! Chef Lenny Messina is incredible his flavors in all his dishes ......amazing!
Another delightful dining experience. Dependable good food. The duck was done perfectly. Our waiter, Jason, could not have been more charming.
Food was awesome! Creamy hummus!
This is been one of my favorite LI restaurants for a very long time. When it changed chefs from Chef Michael to Chef Lenny I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Chef Michael was fantastic tapas. Chef Lenny is incredible Mediterranean. It's a feast. Each item that comes to the table is delicious. The service is fabulous. Everyone that we bring here loves it. Every time I come I look forward to the creations of Chef Lenny and the friendly staff.
We went during LI Winter Restaurant Week and had the best experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the food was delicious (try the assortment of mezes as an appetizer, the duck as a main course and the halavah parfait for dessert!) and the service was top-notch (Shelby, the Hostess was delightful and Arthur, our waiter was wonderful!) We would and will go back in a heart-beat!
Lola’s is always delicious
And the service is excellent
We were very satified wih the service and the food.
Restaurant week meal was disappointing, salmon meatballs were inedible, the duck was great as well as the hummus. Was too noisy in a friday night
It was good but. The apps were much better than the entrees for restaurant week. No choice for appetizers they just serve hummus, baba, yogurt, beet spreads and falafel balls with pita. That was all delicious. Entrees very ok. And the place is pretty dirty. Not the tables but the walls and light fixtures, artwork all covered in dust. Not at all appetizing.
Just dined at Lola for LI restaurant week . Amazing food . Great value , left stuffed and still had food for the next day's lunch.
As always the food and service are excellent. They always cater to my food allergies and their wine selection is good.
If you love Mediterranean dishes, then you will LOVE Lola. I am a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine, so Lola did not disappoint. I loved getting the mezze style, and the drinks and wine weren't too shabby either. We were there as a group of 6 and it was fun. They honored our request for a booth in the corner, which was also very nice. The service is friendly, but not overbearing. The dishes are so fresh and authentic. It was great. The only issue? Street parking in Great Neck - though that night we were fine.
