Lola - Great Neck Ratings and Reviews
Food and service was good. I don't like the seating arrangement when you are on top of the people next to you . Difficult to find, had to go around a couple of times. Sign was too small. It's next to a movie theatre and traffic is heavy there so give yourself time.
We had a lovely meal at Lola. The service was attentive and pleasant. I liked the lighting not too dark. although my date had a hard time reading the tiny font in the menu. Our drinks were really tasty I had the beach themed cocktail and it was a flashback to the carribean. My salmon was perfect, as was the Fattoush salad. My date had a special he thought it was really delicious. The specials sold out earlier we noted that just as an point. Overall we liked Lola and would recommend it.
We came here for Valentine's Day after meeting Shelby when we went in for a drink one afternoon before a movie next door. She's friendly and sweet and she told us all about the food so we were intrigued. I made a res for V-Day and they had a really great prix-fixe menu that was a great value. The chef was wonderful and came by everyone's table throughout the evening checking on things. The whole staff is wonderful and I will go back again and again. Love this place.
We went to Lola's during Restaurant week.
They waitress immediately told us that either the entire table does the 3 course price fix or all have to order off the menu.
We were glad we did since the appetizers offered were abundant and very tasty.
My compliant with only 4 choices, I don't eat fish, don't feel like vegetarian is worth going out for and I don't like duck.
That left the Chicken which I knew from he start I wouldn't like what it was served with. I asked to just have plain rice and was told I couldn't. The rice came with chic peas and Lentils which I do not like and i felt those ingredients took over the dish.
I understand with Price Fix it's hard to make substitutions, but for a guest not to eat their dinner also seems unreasonable.
Overall, my dining guest loved the place and their choices.
Our waitress was excellent!
Dined on Saturday evening. I earlier requested a specific table but, alas, it was previously requested by another diner. However, with the reservation confirmation telephone call I was presented with several table options and when we arrived there was actually an adjacent perfect table available for us with red, high-backed chairs.
Kudos to the hostess and the restaurant to make the extra effort into accommodating my table request.
Always enjoy the food as well as the service and tonight was no exception.
The hummus is ALWAYS top notch and fresh.
As always the food was delicious and creative with ample portions. We have been to Lola's numerous times for dinner. This time we entertained a friend and her baby for brunch. The choices were all interesting ranging from more typical brunch with a flair, to the very unusual. The chef even came out to discuss a pureed sweetpotato he prepared for the child's meal.
All rated the brunch A plus.
Outstanding dinner during Long Island Restaurant Week. The mezze - a selection of about seven appetizers with pita bread - covered the entire table and was a meal in itself. The duck entree was also delicious. e look forward to going back soon. The service was not as attentive as it should have been, especially when we needed to get the check in order to get to a show on time.
