Lola - Great Neck
Lola is located right on Middle Neck Roadway in the absolutely cosy walk friendly town of Great Neck. It's right in the heart of it all. It's easy to pass by so make sure you keep an eye out for the big glass window. It does blend in with lots of the little of their shoppes on the block. If it helps it's right by the movie theater.
The parking is on the street in front with lots or signs. So make sure you obey the signs and feed the meters if needed and you'll be fine.
The inside reminds you of a small city eatery for sure. With city spacing and layers out tables. But it quite romantic with fresh flowers and candles at the tables. The music I didn't understand though you couldn't hear it over all the loud talking. Plus, it didn't sound good when some of it once in awhile made its way past the loud noise.
The place itself upon walking in and certain times during the dining experience you got a sniff of a weird not so pleasant odor. I'm not sure if it was the type of food mostly seafood or maybe the way they cooked it. But let's just say that was the low point in the evening.
The food itself is wonderful and picture perfect. You for sure eat with your eyes at this place. When these plates arrive your visionary senses meet your taste senses before ever taking a bite.
When you do decide to take your first bite you won't be disappoint at all. The food taste utterly sublime, where you obtain the fish branzino or the tender hangar steak. You will indulge in utter bliss for your taste buds.
The servers are pretty friendly and a little bit funny/quirky. So you won't be disappointed in the service either.
Definitely, give this place a try but remember don't bring too many friends. It's mostly two tops with a few four tops and a couple six tops.
See you soon...
Food was excellent! Service was great. Waiter recommendations were awesome!
Flawless as usual. The staff is amazing. The food is healthy and different and delicious. Best restaurant on the North Shore of Long Island for sure.
We had a great time and everyone that works there is beyond sweet.
The variety and uniqueness of the food is wonderful
Excellent food, service, ambiance. One of the best restaurants in Great Neck!
Food was absolutely incredible. We did the tasting menu and from start to finish it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The depth of flavor and creativity in each blew us away. Can’t wait to go back!!
Excellent food. Each item had diff ingredients and matched to creatively balanced so food usually I don’t eat, tested so god. Five stars chef
My colleague and I went to Lola for dinner after a work meeting. We felt right at home in a relaxing and welcoming environment. The food was out of this world! Very unique cuisine, different from the regular fare that you often find at other Mediterranean restaurants. The foie was fresh and perfectly rendered, and the lamb had the perfect balance of spices and fat. Chef came out and told us about his fascinating travels and experience throughout Europe. Highly, highly recommended.
Lola went above and beyond, with Restaurant Week appetizers comprising nine different Mediterranean dishes, from falafel to hummus. One was more delicious than the next and they were so abundant that we could have skipped the main courses and gone straight to dessert. Our entrees — duck leg confit and a Thai red curry — were exceptional, as were the desserts (especially the halvah). This was one of the most delicious and innovative meals we have had in a long time. The $10 glasses of wine and the excellent service only added to the experience.
Food was DELICIOUS!!
Love love Lola
Never a disappointment. Every meal here is great. Love everything that Chef Lenny creates. Service is always wonderful.
This was our 2nd time at Lola’s
Not as good as 1st time
Lamb was tough and should have sent it back
Service was attentive and courteous
We dined here with friends and, as usual, the food and drinks were amazing, the service helpful and on point, and the atmosphere comfortable - we had a round table, which was perfect for the 6 of us. Most impressive was that one person in our party has a garlic allergy, and the chef, knowing this only through my reservation comments, prepared a special garlic-free meal for her. She was thrilled, the plates were delicious and we will definitely be back!! Thanks, Lola, for a stellar evening.
My husband and I went to Lola during restaurant week. It is a lovely restaurant. Our server , Marty , was excellent. The appetizers were all very good, Especially the homemade hummus. My husband enjoyed his duck but my petite filet was really very petite and too salty. The halva parfait was amazing but the salted caramel pudding not worth eating. We will definitely go back.
Randi M, Great Neck
great ,wonderful, experiance.service was great,Marty, was the server.
The duck leg confit was slightly dry but the foie gras topping perfect!
Three of us had a weeknight dinner at Lola. The food was wonderful! The menu provided plenty
of diversity. The portions were large. I took a chance with the chicken schnitzel, and loved it.
Even though I could have eaten more, I asked for a "doggie bag" so that I could take some home
for my wife to sample. My dinner companions were equally happy with their duck and bronzino.
One tip - share the appetizers, as they are huge. Our only gripe - the service was efficient, but
brusque, and not particularly warm.
Fantastic service and delicious food. Nice quantity for the price. Love restaurant week!
Always a great experience at Lola. Lenny Messina does amazing things with his food!
Wonderful waiter n food
Not our first visit. Dined here during regular menu offerings as well as restaurant week. Cocktails ordered came as specified...perfect beginning.
Outstanding in every regard...from reservation, welcome, seating and exceptional culinary skill
Our server this visit, Marty, was friendly, knowledgeable, impeccable.
Executive Chef Lenny Messina is gifted!
All mezzi presented were delicious. Various kinds of humus, beets, cauliflower, falafel, tzatziki , pita, etc.
Each had its own unique flavor and seasoning.
We opted for the upcharge of petit filet mignon, served over truffle polenta w braised kale and additionally foie gras. This is the place for foie gras as it comes to us via the Hudson Valley farm of Chef and Lola owner, Michael Ginor.
No words can describe it’s superior taste, preparation and presentation.
Dessert is something we rarely elect but here the Halavah parfait is not to missed.
I went with 4 ladies to celebrate my birthday. It was restaurant week so we had a limited menu. Entree and mezzo was delicious, but the desserts were really lackluster.
It happened to be Restaurant Week and we ordered from the special menu and got to try many different things. Everything was fabulous
the foie gras was delicious as was the filet mignon and duck--best hummus around and the halvah parfait was crazy good
Restaurant week. All the mezze was outstanding. The main was the duck breast, which is the main reason for the knocked off star; the breast was very tough and had very little flavor. The halva parfait is great, especially if you have a crazy sweet tooth.
Small restaurant with limited menu but everything was presented beautifully and all was delicious. Service was very nice. Fine for dining it for a business meeting.
Outstanding food, service atmosphere. Cant wait to go back
Lola gets better and better ; $2 up charge for vegetable substitution is petty and alienating .our server was EXCELLENT!
Exceptionally prepared Israeli cuisine. Each bite more delicious than the one before. The only disappointment was our server. He incorrectly described a special of fish tacos as "breaded" when they were deep fried (not what we expected) and he should have guided us as to how best to order and sample the menu. Our table of 4 could've easily shared a tasting of mezzes, hummus and main courses. We simply ordered too much food and ended up taking most main courses home. A more experienced server would have helped us order more appropriately.
Tasting menu. Absolutely fantastic.
Chef’s tasting menu was outstanding. Service, food and everything was excellent. Highly recommend!!!
Cool vibe, creative food, loud noise level, staff very accommodating. Would definitely go back.
Everthing we ordered was delicious. From the Humus and Pita triangles to the Flourless Chocolate Cake dessert. I ordered the duck and it did not disappoint.
Everyone in my party of 4 enjoyed the cuisine.
Always good food and service.
Neighborhood gem. Great appetizers and delicious entrees. Highly recommend
We loved every bite & the staff were delightful & helpful. Wonderful evening.
was a very comforatble setting and food was very good
Awesome and creative brunch menu items! Fresh, delicious and different!! We will definitely be back!
This was my second time eating at Lola's and I have enjoyed the experiences both times. The food is interesting and delicious, our waitress was very helpful and lovely, it is quiet enough to enjoy conversation and the ambience is cozy and colorful. We had no problem finding parking and I can't wait to come back.
I am recommending to my friends and family.....
