Lola Costal Mexican - Denver Ratings and Reviews
The food and service was amazing. Unfortunately, a very drunk, very loud group made the ambience terrible. The server and manager both apologized and comped part of our meal. I want to go back because the food was great. Hopefully, there won’t be one group to ruin the entire experience.
Great food, great service, great ambiance. Live music on Sunday afternoon was perfect - not too loud. Tableside quacamole was excellent. We had two orders it was so good. The entrees were great, no complaints from anyone in our party. Ample portions, excellent flavors, fresh ingredients, beautifully served. I will go back!
Lola is a popular restaurant in the area. It was full but not loud. I was still able to keep a normal volume level while talking to my date. But we also had a table. A lot of seats are counter space, which remind me of seating at a sushi bar, which is not exactly date friendly. More of a people watching position. We ordered table-side Guacamole, but they could not fit the tray table-side (it was still tasty). The food was excellent but kitchen was a bit slow to deliver (by american standards). As an example our creme brulee which should just take a sprinkle of sugar and a few seconds with a torch had the waiter coming over a couple of times apologizing for the wait. Service was excellent otherwise. I would definitely come back.
Overall, food was lackluster. Sweet potatoes on the Duck Benedictos were way too big and overpowering, and the chicken fried steak was way too chewy and tough. The brunch menu isn’t as good as it used to be. Drinks were good though, service was attentive and when they made a mistake, they fixed it. Also wasn’t terribly expensive compared to some other places for brunch in Denver.
Our waiter, Jordan, was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food was outstanding and being that my friend and I were both on restrictive diets, Jordan was quick to recommend excellent choices. The atmosphere was exciting and fun! We're going back tonight for another round of business meetings. Thx! ....chris
Lola changed their menu and it's disappointing bc I used to love this place. 5 of 5 people in my party didn't really like their dish...Drinks are great though! Lola should stick with the more traditional Mexican fare instead of going upscale, it was way better.
Jamie (owner) and his staff have created a fantastic dining establishment. I have lived in the LoHi area for many years and ever since it opened, Lola has provided wonderful food and a delightful atmosphere.
The tableside guac and jalapeño infused margarita are worth every penny!
We went for 2 birthdays and they were super gracious and attentive despite a 13 person party. The food was fantastic but is pretty spicy, so make sure you ask how hot a dish is if you're sensitive to heat. My husband and I like spicy food and we loved it! They do note its spicy but some people in our party didn't realize how hot it would be. Great venue, amazing food, and terrific service. This was our first time for dinner but have been for brunch many times. Will come again for dinner!
Lola was AMAZING! I kept having to add more people to the reservation and they were more than accommodating with us. Shout out to Jen (and everyone else) who took care of our table that night. We had people staggering to arrive and that was not a problem. We had queso, yucca fries, ceviche, and the brussel sprouts. OH THEY WERE GOOD! Service was absolutely fantastic! Will definitely be going back!
We were there for their Old School Hip Hop Brunch...literally two of my favorite things in the world, Mexican food and Hip Hop, together in an epic brunch experience. The food and the drinks for so good and the ambiance was incredible. I would go back to Denver just to go to this restaurant.
