The music was so loud. We were there for Sunday brunch, but it felt like Saturday night at a club. They did turn it down when we asked, but it was still too loud to talk to anyone. Food is good.
Lola is no longer a costal Mexican restaurant. Used to enjoy going there but the menu has changed. One vegetarian dish that you an add your choice of protein, an enchilada, a taco neither were costal and another beef and pork dish. We made a reservation and got seated in a back room (the only occupied table in the area) out of sight and mind of the wait person. Watch out for the "mole" they have several kinds but the mole verde is not made with chocolate so is it really "mole"? I don't think so. This information is not on the menu. A very disappointing dinner for two at a price of over $80.
The service was great but it went downhill after that. Much to loud, food tasteless.
The food and service were excellent. Very cozy atmosphere and was easy to walk to. I highly recommend it.
Tasty food in a fun setting. Order the fish tacos!
Picked Lola for a special reunion with friends based on a previous, positive experience. The service felt like the B-team. Hard to get attention, drink orders took awhile, valet staff not present upon arrival or departure, food selections verified as available one minute were no longer available moments later. Just not a quality service experience in a city with no shortage of great dining spots. Bathrooms needed attention. Likely will not return.
The swordfish was flavorless, and the old fashioned tasted like pure sugar.
The food was amazing, however, the metal band the had playing at the highest possible amp setting was awful. We literally could not hear our own conversations which sucked. Unfortunately, the band itself and the noise level is enough for me not to want to go back.
Delicious innovative Mexcan food with chic ambiance. Don't miss the table side guacamole or the margaritas, but be prepared for the noise and a little slow service.
Happy Margarita Day! So fun! such good food and drink.
LOVE Lola! Food and drinks are always excellent. Consistency is something they never fail on. You can always expect great food, drinks, and experience when you dine at Lola.
It was excellent food. We will be back
The flatiron steak was awesome! Great place to hang with friends!
We did the valentines prefix menu and it was wonderful! Such a fun atmosphere and delicious food!
Slow service - but they were pretty busy so it’s understandable.
Great food, great service for our large party! Also when I thought I left my car keys there the staff was VERY helpful in trying to locate them.
Excellent food and service. Nice jazz band playing upstairs in the background.
Michael is attentive and sexy!
Good service, loved valet service, great guacamole and salsa at table. The noise level was too high, hard to have a conversation. The food was good not great. Margarita was very good. :)
I've been dining at Lola since it opened. I spend every special occasion there, I haven't found a better restaurant. It's my favorite place. The food is the BEST, the service is great also! Lola is the BEST!
Beyond amazing breakfast dishes! Ordering the Horchata pancakes would be enough for 3+ people to share, they’re huge :)
Chips and salsa was the best part of the meal. Food was cold, menu not that impressive.
The food and service was amazing. Unfortunately, a very drunk, very loud group made the ambience terrible. The server and manager both apologized and comped part of our meal. I want to go back because the food was great. Hopefully, there won’t be one group to ruin the entire experience.
Great food, great service, great ambiance. Live music on Sunday afternoon was perfect - not too loud. Tableside quacamole was excellent. We had two orders it was so good. The entrees were great, no complaints from anyone in our party. Ample portions, excellent flavors, fresh ingredients, beautifully served. I will go back!
Lola is a popular restaurant in the area. It was full but not loud. I was still able to keep a normal volume level while talking to my date. But we also had a table. A lot of seats are counter space, which remind me of seating at a sushi bar, which is not exactly date friendly. More of a people watching position. We ordered table-side Guacamole, but they could not fit the tray table-side (it was still tasty). The food was excellent but kitchen was a bit slow to deliver (by american standards). As an example our creme brulee which should just take a sprinkle of sugar and a few seconds with a torch had the waiter coming over a couple of times apologizing for the wait. Service was excellent otherwise. I would definitely come back.
Overall, food was lackluster. Sweet potatoes on the Duck Benedictos were way too big and overpowering, and the chicken fried steak was way too chewy and tough. The brunch menu isn’t as good as it used to be. Drinks were good though, service was attentive and when they made a mistake, they fixed it. Also wasn’t terribly expensive compared to some other places for brunch in Denver.
Excellent, friendly service. Very tasty menu with generous portions of food.
Everything was great except for the Jarritos cocktail.
Our waiter, Jordan, was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food was outstanding and being that my friend and I were both on restrictive diets, Jordan was quick to recommend excellent choices. The atmosphere was exciting and fun! We're going back tonight for another round of business meetings. Thx! ....chris
We have been twice now and absolutely love it! I love the costal Mexican menu verses you typical Mexican restaurant menu. Cool atmosphere, great service.
Lola changed their menu and it's disappointing bc I used to love this place. 5 of 5 people in my party didn't really like their dish...Drinks are great though! Lola should stick with the more traditional Mexican fare instead of going upscale, it was way better.
I was out with a very special friend we enjoyed everything about our experience and she was very impressed with everything about our experience at your wonderful restaurant. Thank you.
Love this place!
Jamie (owner) and his staff have created a fantastic dining establishment. I have lived in the LoHi area for many years and ever since it opened, Lola has provided wonderful food and a delightful atmosphere.
The tableside guac and jalapeño infused margarita are worth every penny!
Christmas Eve at Lola's has become our new tradition. The paella special is always amazing and our server could not have been more attentive.
Love the brunch here
First time diner at Lola. From out of town and read reviews so decided to give it a go. Brunch menu was eclectic. Much to choose from. Food was really good. Portions just right and service was spot on. Be sure to ask for Katie!
