I came from Philadelphia to visit a friend. While there I took another friend to Lola for her birthday. Everything about the meal was perfect - loved the presentation - and I appreciated the birthday treat the waiter brought to the table. I forget his name, but our server was one of the best waiters I've ever had, even in Philadelphia, which is a restaurant town.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Lola’s. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the Hangar Steak was so flavorful and delicious! And the dessert - French toast with maple ice cream was outstanding!
Food was very good, except for the artichokes that were wayyyy to aldente. The wine took much too long to arrive at the table. Otherwise a good experience but not worthy of more than 4 stars .
First time in Cleveland.
Stephan our waiter was very professional and friendly ,knew the menu which was helpful!
Excellent staff, prompt courteous server. Meal was interesting and well cooked. Would certainly go back!
We had drinks and desserts here. Unique cocktails and delicious desserts. The desserts were tiny but very good. We sat outside and enjoyed the scene on the street. Our server was good - attentive but not overbearing.
‘Fish and Chips’ is actually a tuna tartare and is amazing!! They also have an excellent by the glass wine list. I had a 2016 Produtorri de Barbaresco
We have dined at Lola many times and always have a great experience. The service is attentive, friendly, professional and the food is unique and delicious. The wine list is interesting and extensive.
Lola is a vibrant restaurant with a welcoming vibe. The music was pretty loud, and many people were dressed quite casually, which enhanced the laid back vibe of Lola. That being said, the cuisine is serious and delicious. I had the bacon wrapped sturgeon with creamed spinach, julienned parsnips and apples. All of the flavors of the dish ate very well together, and the fish was cooked to perfection. I also had the famous Brussels sprouts as a side. Personally, I prefer a hard sear on my Brussels sprouts, and the ones I received were a little uneven in that regard. Delicious flavor nonetheless. I ate here on a business trip, and would highly recommend the restaurant for any foodie. Just be aware that the restaurant is a bit pricey, though not outrageous. I think Lola has a great ambience, but some may not enjoy how loud the music plays if they are looking for an incredibly intimate space, although a couple sitting nearby clearly had no trouble enjoying a romantic meal here. Our service was very good, though not exceptional; another couple at a nearby table who appeared to be regulars were receiving truly great service, which is completely understandable. Overall, the experience was great and the dish I ate was quite excellent. The dessert and wine menus were very impressive, but unfortunately I didn't get enjoy them on this trip (dietary restrictions). Overall, I'd highly recommend Lola for any foodie who would enjoy a laid back fine dining experience. I plan on going back the next time I'm in Cleveland.
Before a show
Cheese plate, charcuterie and two more sides was a perfect way to taste amazing flavors while sharing with good friends.
I was so excited to dine at Lola and it did not dissappoint. The service was amazing. The wine list as diverse as i've ever seen. I've always been a fan of Michael Symon and it's clear his passion comes through in the quality, presentation, and overall deliciousness. I would go back again and again. You could not improve on this dining experience.
This dinner was worth every penny, and I will certainty be back. We did a business dinner here with 10 total people and everyone was blown away by the food quality and variety. Not to mention, our server was very professional and knowledgeable on the wine menu and dinner menu. At the end of the meal, we were all raving on the food and even wrote down the name of the wines we had because we liked them so much.
Amazing food and cocktails! Went two nights in a row.
Great food, but a little pricey
Ahhhh, as if we didn't all know...Michael Symon is a genius! Our server was incredibly knowledgeable in regards to both food/wine, and didn't leave the pairings up to our imagination:) She offered suggestions in terms of add-ons and made it a night to remember!
As a fan of Michael Symon's on The Chew, I've always wanted to experience one of his restaurants in person - especially Lola - the jewel in the crown. When I had the chance to visit to Cleveland recently, I made sure to make a reservation at Lola.
It really was fabulous - one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The excitement of E.4th in Cleveland, the ambiance, the service.. and of course- the food, made this exceptional and memorable. We had the Pierogies (highly recommend) and the sturgeon wrapped in bacon (which was fabulous). We also shared the "6am special" desert (loved it).
Can't wait to go back to Cleveland, just so I can go back to Lola!
Really enjoyed the food. One of the most memorable meals in long time. Great cocktails and romantic!
weekend in Cleveland and found this gem ---- loved everything about it and the person who waited on us was superb...not pretentious trying to do a sale on the restaurant....but one who truly loved the restaurant & steered us in the right direction on selecting the best of the menu … we were out of towners but most definitely would make this a restaurant for a return visit. Loved our evening at Lola!
We got the scallops and hanger steak and both were amazing. The scallops were a little better than the steak but I would recommend either!
We had a great experience. We tried new food items, watched the chefs while we ate and enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommend.
The staff and meal were exceptional. The staff and chefs were friendly, talkative, and provided recommendations to fit our needs. Could not have asked for a better meal, nor experience. Even on a Friday night, with a busy crowd, courses were timely.
Get the steak. Get the lamb shank. Get the crab soup. Get the beef cheek perogies. Get all of it!
Outstanding from the very beginning. The wait staff were very professional, thoroughly familiar with the menu and wine list. They gave us plenty of tome to linger over cocktails and after the first course. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the hanger steak and the sturgeon. We will be back
By far the best restaurant in Cleveland. Went for a business dinner.
Fabulous food! Food arrived hot and cooked to perfection. The scallops were seared perfectly and warm all the way thru, but not over cooked. The addition of a little bacon made the dish succulent and filling. Paired nicely with a Sauvignon Blanc wine. Save room for desert, all are unique and fabulous.
Our table was located with a nice view of the vibe of East 4th street. Our server took good care of us . Great selection of wines to choose from . My husbands scallops looked so appetizing, I wanted to steal one. My halibut was delicious. It was a treat for us to do dinner downtown and Lola's did not disappoint.
We had the beef cheek perogies as an apatite and we thought that was the best thing we ever tasted. That was until we had the Hanger Flank Steak, THEN that was easily the best dish we ever had.
Our waiter Steven was knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful when it came to our overall experience. It'll be very VERY hard to beat Lola and I'm honestly not sure if it can be done. We WILL come back to Cleveland specifically just to eat here!
Hospitable professionalism blended with an amazing meal of meat!
I live in Chicago (city proper.. not the burbs) and travel for a living. My exposure to food is extensive, and I indulge my digestive desires by making a night of dining out an experience.
My evening at Lola's raised the bar with a perfect balance of unincumbered service, spectacular dishes and lively atmosphere. The staff was accommodating and genuine.
known for meat so we both got seafood which was not as appealing as all the lovely meat dishes we saw others chowing down on! So noisy we had to cup around our ears to hear each other!
While visiting family in Cleveland for the weekend, my husband and I had dinner here for the first time on Saturday 6/2. Everything was perfect, from the ease of the reservation to the delicious food to the excellent service. We had the calves heart appetizer, which i was a bit skeptical about, but it was actually very good. I liked the presentation of it. For our entree, I had the hanger steak and my husband had the lamb shank. Both were absolutely delicious. Note: the lamb shank was a very large portion (it came on a bed of rice) and my husband felt guilty that he was unable to eat it all. In addition to delicious food, we received excellent service from our server Jerrell. I would definitely recommend Lola and hope to be able to visit again next time we are in Cleveland.
We went for our anniversary. Perfect place for a special occasion. The atmosphere was lively, but not too noisy to talk. The service was perfect. And the surprised us with two mini cupcakes on a “Happy Anniversary “ plate.
Love this place! The beef cheek perogies are a must! The smoked pork chop is out of this world. Great service.
We sat at the Chef’s table. What a fun experience. Talked with the guys who made our meal, which was AMAZING! We were celebrating my girlfriend’s retirement. The staff went out of their way to treat her like royalty. The food was tasty, the dessert was well worth the spike to my blood sugar(!) then they brought out ANOTHER tiny dessert on a plate with “Congratulations “ spelled out in a strawberry sauce. Just a great evening that made her feel special. We would come back in a heartbeat!
Service was a bit spotty
It was AMAZING! We did our yearly mother/daughters trip to Cleveland just to eat at both restaurants. We plan to come back and bring my Daddy. The food was just enough to fill you up but had a little extra room for dessert. I have never been to anything fancy and Lola’s was. Being from Alabama there isn’t much fancy restaurants. It was so nice. Our waiter was such a gentleman and very polite. If I lived in Cleveland Lola’s would definitely be my Friday night dinner place. We got lucky our wonderful waiter gave us one of Chef Symon’s cookbooks. I was so excited! Thank you for making my mom, sister, and I feel welcome!
I would have given better reviews but my boyfriend had an allergic reaction to something in the food and everyone denied there were any tree nuts in anything we ordered. We had to leave after only having drinks and appetizers as his throat was getting scratchy.
Outstanding. This was our second visit to Cleveland and Lola's. We
ve come to enjoy visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame followed by a most spectacular dining experience with some of the most creative dishes we've ever encountered.
It was 5 star from the moment you walked out n. Michael Symon is now #1 for us.
