Lola - A Michael Symon Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Was disappointed, I am a huge Symon tv fan. burrata, ok; scallops less so; pierogies bland. Duck entree, confit was fantastic, breast was cooked perfectly but tasteless. Cauliflower ok, fries ok. Summer Genetti on desserts, always on point.. Since her Cincy days.
Lola is a more expensive restaurant that I would normally go to, but this was a special occasion, a celebration of a high moment in my career. We had a great wait staff. Our food and drinks were excellent. I loved the bacon wrapped sturgeon and the Lola's Smores. For such a world-class place, our bill wasn't that bad.
First things first you have to try the beef cheek perogies, you will not be disappointed. I like that you can wear jeans and a nice shirt and get fantastic service at the same time. I recommend if making a reservation to request the table that is by the windows if your having a special occasion it was perfect and felt romantic and had a great view. Thanks for the fantastic food and experience LOLA.
Hostess very warm and welcoming. Waiter ver knowledgeable.
We eat frequently at fine dining restaurants.
Food was good but our dinners arrived at room temperature.
Our waiter was very kind and warmed up my dinner.
He must have informed the manager who came by to check on us. Manager was exceptionally gracious! Sent us an additional desert and had comped our second glasses of wine which we didn't expect. Very nice! We would return if visiting Cleveland again.
Even better than you think it is.
We chose Lola for a dinner on our recent trip to Cleveland
as my wife was familiar with Chef Michael Symon from the
TV show The Chew.
The ambiance and service were superlative and only surpassed by the
AMAZING food. Our group of four ordered a variety of items and all were
staggeringly good. When the bill came I was impressed with how reasonable
it was given the quality of the food & the entire experience.
If you are in Cleveland and want a sublime dining experience, look no further.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The crab appetizer was absolute perfection in both taste and size. I ordered the sea scallops and my boyfriend ordered the lamb shank. Let me say that most places give you about 3 scallops for $25+ dollars...here, I had FIVE SCALLOPS. Amazing. My boyfriend devoured his meal as well. The whole atmosphere was wonderfully quiet and intimate. Our servers were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant.
Oh! I mentioned on my OpenTable reservation that this dinner was for a birthday. At the end of our dinner the servers brought out a small (espresso chocolate) cupcake with a candle, and a "Happy Birthday!" written on a plate in raspberry gel. I had no idea they'd do this but it was such a sweet surprise.
We had an appetizer, a salad, and scallops. The crab appetizer was fairly good, the cabbage and pig ear salad and was not at all impressive, and the scallops were too salty. The manager replaced the scallops and did not charge us for any of them which was impressive. Somehow the scallops were still slightly over salted but edible.
Myself and my business partner who is my best friend had the best time. We had less than 24 hours to do dinner at Lola's and lunch at Mabels and it didn't disappoint. The ribeye steak was awesome. The staff treated us like we were the only two people in the building and it was genuine. Our server was excellent!!!
We appreciate the good service. It meant a lot!!
This was our second meal at Lola - one year after our first time there. We live in Cincinnati, but have been going to Cleveland for a weekend in November to enjoy that city. Lola might be our favorite place in both cities combined. Every dish we have tried there has been a treat - carefully planned and prepared. The marrow with toasted bread and various accompaniments is so much fun we can't resist getting it. The date paste and blue cheese spread are both amazing, as is the marrow itself. The s'mores dessert is not novel, but is perfectly executed. And the menu generally has so many appealing options that we usually feel like we are going to be happy, no matter what we order.
Consistently delicious and always an enjoyable night out. Having lived in OH for 2 years, we were happy to grab reservations while in town for a conference. Likely our favorite restaurant for the food, service, and romantic character. Can’t recommend highly enough.
My wife and I visited Cleveland on a quick vacation. There was nothing on the menu that appealed to me. I ordered two sides, the polenta and mushrooms. My wife lives lobster. She was disappointed. The crab appetizer was terrible. The couple of pieces of crab were salty. The bulk of the dish was potato balls. The great lakes golden lager was great. All in all, we paid over $140-150 for two beers, potato balls, polenta and mushrooms.
I should have ordered the beef cheek perogies, but knew we had a trip planned to University Inn.
I'm a Cleveland fan, Iron Chef fan, and Michael Symon fan. But this experience was disappointing.
The noise level was over the top. Very hard to hold a conversation with all the noise. I couldn’t have been more disappointed with the lobster Thermidor. Super small entrée With only about 2 tablespoons of sauce And a small side of shaved celery and mushrooms salad. The lobster was not very flavorful but it was fresh. kale Caesar salad was excellent as was the hanger steak that my friend ordered
I had high expectations for Lola and it did not disappoint! The service was great, the ambiance was perfect and the food was all I hoped it would be. The 6am dessert was the best I have had in a very long time. The scallops were sweet and perfectly cooked. Can't wait to come back!!!
We went to Lola's to celebrate my brother turning 50. The staff was just as amazing as the food. We had such a fantastic meal. Some celebrity chef's restaurants don't live up to my expectations but Lola sure did! I sent Michael Symon a tweet of a picture my brother while at dinner & he answered! What a memorable evening!
Very disappointed. We did not appreciate the tables seating arrangements. When having dinner I like to enjoy my company, not the company of four people on either side of me. Impossible to have a conversation. Service very disappointing, our waiter not attentive. The hanger steak was delicious, the strip steak was very ordinary. We would not recommend this restaurant.
Great meal, great atmosphere. The wait staff from top to bottom made the evening. The mature d came right over after we voiced concerns with the kale Dali’s and immediately resolved the issue. The staff silently gave one the feeling that they cared about you and wanted you to enjoy the evening. Thanks
